I’ve noticed certain common denominators with some of my friends. They gravitate to certain colours and looks, perfume, nail polish etc. I’ll start for fun. Sun sign is Libra, Moon in Scorpio, ascendant in Taurus. Just for giggles my friends had me get my charts done many moons ago and the lady needed to actually see my birth certificate because she refused to believe I was a Libra. According to her I had too much earth and water in my chart. Hmmm ... Colour I’m scared of is pink especially eyeshadows I like them but approach with caution. Green eyeshadow I can’t get enough of ❤️❤️
I think that this Impulsive palette has a broad appeal to all the signs shadewise.
Impulsive by Melt
@2manyperfumes I totally agree!! This palette has so many possibilities and combinations, and I've found Melt shadows are great. So easy to apply and blend with no fallout!! Love it!!😊❤
They are one swipe intense pigment and I don’t have a problem with fallout or creasing. I have some MUG shadows that are very good but they do crease more after time. @yankeefaithful
Here are 2 warm palettes, what do you think
ND Gold Palette
Solar palette by BH Cosmetics
I mostly agree with the Taurus one.
Thanks @Samtian ❤️ It’s hard to kinda put them into categories but fun 👍
I love this thread!
I have sun in aries, moon in aquarius and libra rising. I stick with what I think makes me look my best and enhances my best features versus getting creative with colors.
My colors of choice for eyeshadow are neutral nudes and pinks (think colourpop wattles and Charlotte Tilbury pillow talk quad). If I feel adventurous I might venture in the purple territory.
Lips are nudes/peach/pink/soft berry.
I am very analytical when making purchases and tend to wait for a good gwp to stock up on things I need and try to get the best bang for my $$$. I love receiving new products and love 'owning' a lot of stuff even if I only wear the same thing lol. I quickly lose interest in products and give away products to my friends (that's aries for you).
same, re: being a "smart" shopper, and like having things, especially minis lol, and looking at them - but I'm aquarius. even the girl at the grocery store was like "wow, you're a smart shopper!" b cuz I always look for clearance stuff, lol.
Lol my dad was an Aries and so was my father-in-law @Cyncynn yes they were generous to a fault and quickly bored with stuff. If my dad wanted something then he was single minded in his pursuit to get it. My Aries friends love new skincare and I’m amazed at the amount of samples and minis they collect to try lol. Haaa give always - I’m like that too and I’ll pick up samples for my friends to try all the time (Libras are very good at picking gifts so I’ve been told) - we pay attention to what people like). I will buy a bunch of something I like if I think it won’t be available (my ABH brow wiz) I’ll buy 2-3 of them same with the Bum Bum Cream I’m stocked haaaaa. I don’t know where that comes from I think it’s my Taurus rising. My cousin is cusp Taurus/Gemini and she’ll buy every colour of shoes available in her faves, stockpile toothpaste, shampoo, laundry detergent when it’s a good sale. I open her cupboard and find 12 toothpastes, toilet paper, body wash, shampoo all in order and a years worth of it. Taurus let me know if this is a common trait?
I took my two Morphe palettes and kind of split them up according to general zodiac based shadow preferences - some are probably dual like Libra
Wow, I’m Cap and I doubt I’d wear most of those colors you have labeled for earth signs! What I like are forest/olive greens, gold, silver, rose gold, or black. Maybe navy or really dark blues. But I’ve always been a weird Cap.
For lips, I favor rose/mauve, gold, bronze, copper, or blue reds. Obviously, I love metallics, maybe that’s my money loving Cap side showing through! Never thought of that before, thanks for bringing this out!
I can never remember whether I’m Cap with Sag moon and Scorp rising or Scorp moon and Sag rising! I do know there’s no Air signs in my chart, but I don’t know how that would affect me.
@2manyperfumes I'd put aries in a neutral medium brown as well.
I wasn’t sure @Cyncynn but yes Aries for the warm palette ❤️
If you're really into astrology you have to consider your ascending sign when talking about your appearance! I'm a virgo sun, pisces rising. I don't have a theme for makeup... I like all of it. I love collecting random bits and bobs because then I feel like I can iron-chef a look together. There isn't a color I haven't or wouldn't wear. It's just that as I get more pressed for time my every day look has become simplified: just a black winged liner. I can't say I have any pattern or rhyme or reason to my makeup.
My skincare collection is all over the place because I don't know what I'm doing. I just know Good Genes works, and I like the farmacy tightening balm. I've also been using the Fresh Soy face cleanser in my rotation -- but that's just it; it's in my *rotation* not my one and only.
Yes you are right @itscarin ❤️ My rising is a Taurus, my moon is in Scorpio and my mid-heaven is in Capricorn. My sun sign is a Libra. I’ve been doing a wearable everyday daytime make challenge inspired by the zodiac signs. @heartsmyface this is the thread I mentioned.
I’ve had my western (zodiac) and Chinese astrology charts done. Though I don’t put much faith in them, it’s interesting how well they describe me.
I’m Sagittarius with an Aquarius moon and Gemini rising. An astrologer friend (who did my full zodiac chart) said “oh wow, no wonder you have so much inner conflict: you’re a walking paradox!” 😂 (Sag and Gemini are opposites.) Apparently I’m also a rebel-hearted adventurer who’s willing to try new things regardless of the risk, doesn’t fear bold or unusual colors, often uses things in ways others typically don’t, has a burning desire to know the truth of everything, needs to find out if (and why) things work, and wants to share her findings with others who may find them helpful.
I can can see how my makeup choices fit all those descriptors. Skincare is slightly different: there’s only so much risk I’ll take there—but that’s after decades of hard lessons learned. 😄 I could blame my need to research and test all of the things on my star chart. Also, my need to have all the pretty colors and my love of color shifters. And probably my refusal to do “seasonal” makeup shades. (All of the colors, all of the time!)
Might also explain my shopping habits. I don’t mind browsing in a store with no SA assistance; it leaves me more freedom to move about, play with testers, and explore “hmm, I bet I could use this as [something unusual]” options. But if an SA approaches me and I can tell they really know what they’re talking about, I like to ask questions. I always notice how SAs treat other customers in the store. If I don’t like how they generally handle customers (some SA teams ignore older customers, others seem to shun customers who aren’t obviously wearing a full face of makeup or dressed like they have money, etc.), I stop going there—even if I got good service that day—and I usually complain to customer service or corporate about it.
I don’t like paying full price for anything but if I reeeeally want something, I’m gonna buy it. I love a good deal, but I try not to chase every GWP deal because honestly, I end up with way too many samples I won’t use. Then again, those are things I can gift or donate to others who need them, so they’re not completely bad. My astrologer friend would say my Gemini wants all the samples and all the deals, but my Sagittarius wants a bigger discount without all the little superfluous samples, and then my Aquarius appeals to Sag’s generosity by reminding me I can always donate the samples. I drive myself a little nuts sometimes. 😂

is that aquarius? bc that sounds like me also. 😛 I feel like I've always been "weird", and back in middle school, way before the current makeup craze, I had this glitter roller thing, bcuz glitter was big back then, lol 😛 and I just tried it on one morning before school. then someone was like "why do you have glitter on your face?" lol. I was just like, uh, I dunno... I also liked to go to the store and try on nail polish...then people would be like "why are all your nails different colors?" (can't remember if it was the same person or not, haha). again I was just like, uh, I dunno... but now people are always doing crazy colors and glitter and everything, there's always some new trend for people to stand out...but I guess I was a trailblazer! lol 😛
@treestar86 Any astrologer would say rebelliousness and “weird” uniqueness are very Aquarius traits, so you can blame it on Aquarius. 🙂 In my case, I combine that with Sagittarius’s “boldly go where no one has gone before” mantra and Gemini’s “hmm, what’s this button do? *pushes button*” mentality.
Another astrologer once told me there’s not enough in my star chart to rein in my sun sign (Sagittarius, a fire sign), especially when my moon and rising are air signs. “Air doesn’t stop fire, it feeds the flames,” he said. I forgot to mention I was born on the last day of Sag; that makes me a Sagittarius/Capricorn cusp. But good luck finding much Capricorn in my personality. 🤣
@WinglessOne yayy, I always knew I was! 😛 also w/being logical and independent - plus my bday's the 1st, so I feel like I'm even more aquarius, lol. could be why I take such long showers? lol. and purple is one of my fave. makeup colors (birthstone color). I don't know much else about astrology, though... 😕
Lol @WinglessOne I love it. My hubby is a Gemini and my daughter has a Sag rising. My best friend was an Aquarius. I get it about conflict. You should have seen the astrologist’s face when she did mine in my 20s. She actually went ohhh that I haven’t seen before. I’m all earth and water with the only thing in air being my sun sign. Supposedly I’m by nature influenced by my sixth sense, having a strong Scorpio moon and being very connected to the earth by my rising Taurus sign. I have an impulsive nature that conflicts with my sound judgement and practicality.
