I’ve been tracking my empties, and typically like to only report and post on a monthly basis, but i just emptied something that’s been kicking around in my collection (and shower) for just over 2 years at this point, so i wanted to celebrate this win on its own!

I didn’t realize just how long it would take to finish a product like this, but given the size and the fact that i only used it once a week, it seemed to last forever! This isn’t something i can repurchase I don’t think? It was a gift from a friend who’s a hairdresser. That being said, even if i could repurchase it, i probably wouldn’t. Olaplex doesnt do anything magical for my hair, and i prefer K18, Ouai and BondiBoost products these days. I’m happy to have had it and used it, but ready to have the extra room in my shower for something new! In a few weeks anyways.. after i took this photo, i ended up cutting the bottle and scraping the last bits of product into a small container. I think i have a couple more washes left before i can cycle in a new product.

@Mellmars1185 thank you! And yes, it’s been nice having access to products. I felt a little badly at first, but given that I only need to ask her every few years to replace something, I don’t think it’s so bad after all 😂

Thank you @itsfi ! I was debating keeping the container (I like to keep ones with pumps), but honestly I was sick of seeing it, even if I knew I had depotted a different product into it. Into the recycling it went!

You've got a little time to decide on what is taking it's place, do you have any ideas atm? I feel like after a giant product like that I'd only want to commit to mini's 😉 lol.

@CynthieLu I have a couple hair masks in my pan project for this year, so probably one of those! But yes haha they are all minis 😂😂

@makeitup305 I’m not kidding, I thought it would never end haha, it felt like a black hole of a hair mask! It seemed to never go down no matter how much I used it!

And last but not least... December 2023 with 41 products for a yearly total of 338 empties.  Now I do count all empties as 1, be it foil or full size.  I'm sure there were things that got tossed through the year, or returned to MAC etc etc.  I made my goal of 550 hoping to do way more sheet masks over the last year, but the reality is that I slow way down on empties in the summer months and my sheet masking is sporadic at best. Since I've started keeping track 389 has been my highest number, so I think 2024 is going to be a year where I aim for 365 empties and if I can go over... bonus!

LOVES
-Softsoap in Coconut Hibiscus -- I just like this one to refill my glass hand wash bottles in the washrooms.  It's such a pretty scent. 
-DE Protini -- I need to remember to save this bottle and add a refill to my list to purchase.  I don't find this to be moisturizing enough to wear at night alone, but it's fine for a day time moisturizer and I'd like to test it out in the summer months again as it's been a few years since I've used the full size.
-Christophe Robin Scalp Scrub is just lovely, great combo of scrubby and lather and really does clean the scalp.  I only use this once a month and can get 3 uses out of these tiny sample sizes so it'll be a while before I need to buy any.
-YTTP Superberry Dream mask.  This is so nice.  I have a full size waiting for me already. Love the creamsicle scent and it goes on so nicely.
-Joico Hair Colour -- Love.
-Kate Sommerville Exfolikate -- I don't use this often but have gone through full size tubes a few times.  It's a lovely mechanical exfoliator that fills my desire to scrub.
-Amika mirrorball S&C was so nice.  I love having the sample packets for travel and can get two uses out of each packet.  WIll purchase full size at some point for sure. Love that it's not crazy expensive.  Amika has become a favourite haircare brand over the last four or five years. 
-Merit foundation stick.  I'd like to try this out more and take a closer look at the ingredient list.  But I could see a purchase of this happening after I've worked through a few foundation products. 
-Dr Jart Peeling Solution was lovely!  I found it did a great job exfoliating without stripping. 

LIKES
-Glow Recipie BHA/AHA serum was nice enough, but I didn't have enough in here to make a decision on a full size or not. 
-Glossier You fragrance was lovely as well.  it could easily be an everyday fragrance for when you just don't want to think about what to wear.
-Eye Gel patches in the Aloe Vera variety, these are great, I just need to remember to use them more often.  I'm now finding that my SO is willing to try out more skincare and these are one that he's into when we're traveling so I'll try to remember to pack them and use some up that way.
- Neogen Milk Cream sheet masks - These are a great fabric that really hugs the facial contours and the creamyness of the serum is a great hydrator and moisturizer.

MEH
-JVN Strengthening Shampoo was okay but I have others I prefer.  I was glad to try it and do like the metal bottle with pump.
-Native Toothpaste in Candy Cane... was kinda weird to brush my teeth and think of candy.
-UD Hydromaniac - I've heard great reviews of this, but the sample size was so small I had to use two shades to cover my face once.  Would need more to accurately determine if I like it.
-The two slice mask sheets were fun to use with my nieces but I'd rather a mask that covers my entire face.  Good to use with kids though who thought it was great.  Very instagramable too lol.
-Other masks were all fine, but nothing spectacular.
-Loveshack fancy fragrance wasn't for me, it was more floral than I prefer. 
-Other samples were too small to really make a call on.

PASS
-This was the last of the hair masks with the foil cap.  I ditched the foil cap and used the mask three separate times.  Felt wasteful to toss the cap, and the mask was just meh.
-Random hand sanitizer... this one was okay.  I used it to refill a smaller bottle in my truck. Would not purchase again.  Not really sure even where this one came from.
-Yes to Argan Oil mud mask made my face itchy.  No thank you. 
-Origins Drink Up Intensive overnight mask -- this smelled lovely, but I used it up on my legs as it left a residue on my face that I was not keen on.
-PTR Firmx Peeling Gel... so gimicky.  The gel doesn't lift off your skin and have your skin balling up.  The product balls up on itself.  There were exfoliating ingredients in here, but if you tried rolling it off it made a giant mess.  I ended up using it up by washing off with a washcloth in the shower.

@missjeanie Great empties! I also love the coconut hibiscus softsoap scent. I have had guests come over asking what soap it is because they enjoyed the scent. You mentioned the PTR Peel gel - I have 3 peeling gels and I find they all do the same thing. They all ball up. I was never sure if it was my skin or the product. I paid quite a bit for them also .

@Mellmars1185 I've bought some higher end hand soaps and I always go back to the Coconut Hibiscus!  It's so nice.  

I swear those gels are just balling up on themselves.  I've tried a few random ones in addition to the PTR and I'm not convinced they did much for me.
