The inspiration for this thread is multi-fold and long-winded! For one, I’m still feeling all of the love from Galentine’s Day, Valentine’s Day, and the general camaraderie I’ve recently seen around my favorite threads. Secondly, I’m heading out to Sephora in a bit, and I’m feeling self-conscious about going in bare-faced because my rosacea is flaring. I decided to double-down, and not only walk out the door with no makeup, but also post a picture here. That got me thinking about all of the ways that we celebrate makeup and each other in this community, and how wonderful it would be to extend that same kindness and positivity to our makeup-free selves!
TL;DR if you’re feeling inspired, post a picture of your beautiful bare-faced self, maybe share a bit about yourself, and be prepared for an onslaught of love! To start us off: I’m Laura, 34 years old, and I’m a school counselor in the great city of Chicago. I love soccer, craft beer, and of course the BIC ❤️
Thanks @lmaster you are so sweet!
@sprocketta Hello from Edgewater! Your skin looks so glowing and healthy; I'm glad Paula's Choice is working for you so well 😄 Hope to run into you sometime at the Michigan Avenue store!
Thanks @tastelikewater The Michigan Avenue store is my favorite in the area. They have displays for everything there. It's a quick trip down the street from my office, which is probably worse for me...
@sprocketta love this picture of you.
Hi Stacy! Your skin looks so good!
Thanks @danielledanielle I keep raving about this, but I just have to say it again. Paula's Choice CLEAR acne line has been absolutely awesome for me.
@sprocketta such a beautiful picture!
Ooh I love your glasses @sprocketta!!! 💖
Thanks @XxAudreyxX I call them my awesome nerd glasses
Thanks @faeriegirl It's definitely better now.
Love seeing your face in the lip challenge and love seeing it here too @sprocketta! Which new skincare products are you loving?
@ShortErica I mostly post bare-faced pictures anyway except with lipstick. When I want to do nothing else, I still love lipstick. I'm using the Paula's Choice CLEAR acne line. It's made so much difference.
Hey everyone, I'm Danielle (surprise surprise). I came to the boards after incessantly talking about makeup to my spouse and my friend and finding that I still wanted to talk about makeup.
I recently switched careers. That was a bit of a journey in itself, but I made it. Soon, I'll be working as a pediatric dietitian. Last year, when prepping for the RD exam, I took a lot of Sephora's makeup classes, which gave me some balance and much-needed relief. That, and CMs helped me a lot with my makeup skills, so I really take pride in my improvement.
The middle is me, barefaced. The pic on the left is a CM, and the pic on the right is a natural look I did by myself. Up close, they look different, but like I said, my makeup skills have improved.
@danielledanielle wow congratulations on your career change! I bet it’s so rewarding!
@danielledanielle Your bare faced look is gorgeous! I find nutrition so interesting, as I'm constantly looking for foods to give me energy and make my skin look healthier. <333
@danielledanielle - going to Sephora classes was my stress relief a couple years ago. I was really sad after I had taken all the classes..some of which I took more than once. 😉 Thanks for sharing your pictures - all beautiful!
