The inspiration for this thread is multi-fold and long-winded! For one, I’m still feeling all of the love from Galentine’s Day, Valentine’s Day, and the general camaraderie I’ve recently seen around my favorite threads. Secondly, I’m heading out to Sephora in a bit, and I’m feeling self-conscious about going in bare-faced because my rosacea is flaring. I decided to double-down, and not only walk out the door with no makeup, but also post a picture here. That got me thinking about all of the ways that we celebrate makeup and each other in this community, and how wonderful it would be to extend that same kindness and positivity to our makeup-free selves!
TL;DR if you’re feeling inspired, post a picture of your beautiful bare-faced self, maybe share a bit about yourself, and be prepared for an onslaught of love! To start us off: I’m Laura, 34 years old, and I’m a school counselor in the great city of Chicago. I love soccer, craft beer, and of course the BIC ❤️
@lmaster Thank you for sharing more about you. Your skin is flawless and your bow headband is so cute 🙂
Best,
Rebecca
@lmaster first of all, you’re so beautiful (obviously), but also - such a wonderful thing to share!! When I was in college I worked with a group of students who also had ASD. Your son (well, all four of your children!) are so so so lucky to have a mom like you!! ❤️❤️❤️
@cianni thanks so much! My oldest son will be... Prepare yourself..20 this year uughhhhhh but he lives in Missouri, so I don't see him much my daughter Lily will be 12 Hunter ( the one with ASD) just turned 5 then my youngest will be 4 soon Ryder. But he literally went from non-verbal until the age of 2.5 to a jabber box 😂 he really struggles now with minor issues mainly sensory, like too much noise, talking, loud all at once can send him into a hyperactive state, which over the years I've learned ways to deal with it.That's my dad on the right
Thank you so very much @RebeccaBT 😊🤗
You have a beautiful family @lmaster!❤️
Omg @lmaster such a beautiful family!!! And cubs fans too 😉💙 The amount of progress hunter has made in such a short period of time is so amazing!
@lmaster You look fantastic!! All your masking is paying off!!😉I bet there's never a dull moment at your house!! So glad your son's therapy is helping and is available for him!! Sometimes it's so hard to find the help they need!! Thanks for sharing!!😊
@yankeefaithful thank you for your kind words, there was definitely a difficult period of time I spent on the phone nonstop trying to find answers, but determination paid off! You will do whatever you have to to help your child. Sometimes I would have to drive over an hour for his therapy.
@lmaster You look gorgeous with or without makeup! Thank you for sharing.
Thank you @SportyGirly125 you are such a sweetheart 😘
I can't believe 38 @lmaster. You always have such a youthful radiance about you. I know I've said it before but still.
Thanks for adding in the details about yourself and kids. That is so amazing to hear about progress through your son's therapy. You are an amazing mom and woman. So glad you are part of BIC.
@ShortErica awwwww I truly appreciate that so much 🤗😘😊 thank you
@bakeamuffin and @faeriegirl - I wrote my comment before reading yours. We all describe @lmaster as radiant!
@lmaster Lonna is such a beautiful name! Is it Slavic in origin? I’m so happy to hear about your son; it takes a village, and it sounds like early intervention has been helpful in his growth. Good thing he has a mama like you to support and love him! If you ever find yourself in Chicago, feel free to look me up 🙂 Thank you for sharing.
@tastelikewater honestly I have no clue what origin it is, but my parents never really told me how they came up with it. Thank you for the compliment... It sure does take a village!! 😉 He definitely has EI I knew something was not right early early on...mother's instinct!
You're skin is glowing, you are so fresh and radiant 💖😍 Beautiful as ever @lmaster!
@bakeamuffin you are so kind! Thank you 😘
