The inspiration for this thread is multi-fold and long-winded! For one, I’m still feeling all of the love from Galentine’s Day, Valentine’s Day, and the general camaraderie I’ve recently seen around my favorite threads. Secondly, I’m heading out to Sephora in a bit, and I’m feeling self-conscious about going in bare-faced because my rosacea is flaring. I decided to double-down, and not only walk out the door with no makeup, but also post a picture here. That got me thinking about all of the ways that we celebrate makeup and each other in this community, and how wonderful it would be to extend that same kindness and positivity to our makeup-free selves!
TL;DR if you’re feeling inspired, post a picture of your beautiful bare-faced self, maybe share a bit about yourself, and be prepared for an onslaught of love! To start us off: I’m Laura, 34 years old, and I’m a school counselor in the great city of Chicago. I love soccer, craft beer, and of course the BIC ❤️
Thanks @faeriegirl - it means a lot right now because my arms and legs have a ton of red dots. I think I have a mild case of heat rash. Hopefully it disappears soon.
@tastelikewater What a great idea. That you for starting this.
I just turned 36 and am a beauty and skincare junkie. Most of the people from the Galentine’s exchange know that I love crafting. When I’m not doing that I am on here trying to help people as much as I can, being a Materials Manager at work or chasing my son who will be 3 soon.
@lmaster Thank you so much for those sweet and kind words.
@SportyGirly125 Are you sure you haven’t discovered the Fountain of Youth? Your skin is amazing!
@tastelikewater Thank you!!! I actually always get complemented on my skin when I go to makeup counters and I can only thank my Mom for teaching me at a young age the importance of skincare. At work we wear casual attire and I have a work backpack and they joke that I look like I’m still in school. Not hating on that or constantly getting carded.
@SportyGirly125 I didn’t think I’d ever miss getting carded, but I do now! Can’t they just pretend that I don’t look my age?
@SportyGirly125 You look fantastic!! Your skincare is working because your skin is glowing!!😊
You are beautiful @SportyGirly125! Thank you so much for all you do here on the BIC❤️
You look beautiful @tastelikewater . I love your eye color!
This is a great idea @tastelikewater we should embrace yourself flaws and all! I actually been sick with strep and a cold which you will see with the red under my nose thanks to my job working with kids lol I am finally comfortable enough in my skin to go to work with no makeup on something I thought I would never do. I have dark circles pretty bad depending on the day, dark spots and tend to have pretty dull skin do to dry skin. Thanks to my new skin routine with my Kiehl's products my skin is a good place that I don't feel scared to share with you all what I look like with no makeup! 💜 Thank you for being a place where I feel comfortable to share ☺️
