The inspiration for this thread is multi-fold and long-winded! For one, I’m still feeling all of the love from Galentine’s Day, Valentine’s Day, and the general camaraderie I’ve recently seen around my favorite threads. Secondly, I’m heading out to Sephora in a bit, and I’m feeling self-conscious about going in bare-faced because my rosacea is flaring. I decided to double-down, and not only walk out the door with no makeup, but also post a picture here. That got me thinking about all of the ways that we celebrate makeup and each other in this community, and how wonderful it would be to extend that same kindness and positivity to our makeup-free selves!
TL;DR if you’re feeling inspired, post a picture of your beautiful bare-faced self, maybe share a bit about yourself, and be prepared for an onslaught of love! To start us off: I’m Laura, 34 years old, and I’m a school counselor in the great city of Chicago. I love soccer, craft beer, and of course the BIC ❤️
@divaknits Congratulations on getting married! You definitely have that married glow. <333
Thanks @PenelopeBT ! We’re definitely still in the honeymoon phase.
@divaknits Hi Alyssa! Congratulations on your marriage, how exciting! I've enjoyed following your posts on the 100 Shades of Eyeshadow thread; you've created some really lovely looks. Thanks for introducing yourself 🙂
Thanks @tastelikewater ! I’m pretty excited. You’re so pretty! I’m still trying to get a handle on eyeshadows. They look too blended in photos than they are irl. Someone suggested I try taking them outside, which I plan on doing.
@tastelikewater i love this thread so much! Will snap a bare face photo soon. Also tagging @CarolBT - thought you might like this 🙂
I’ve felt too self-conscious to post in certain threads for a while. My skin has been a mess for a good 2-3 weeks, full of teeny-tiny papules and pustules. I know it’s not highly evident in pictures, but they’re all I can see right now.
I’ve been avoiding any foundation to let my skin just be. Today I decided to try some radical acceptance and post anyway. Not completely bare-faced - I always do my eyes for work - but foundation-free.
@tastelikewater I feel you, but you look great!
@tastelikewater Such a beautiful pic!
@tastelikewater You look great. You are beautiful barefaced.
@lmaster You’re sweet, thank you. My skin is finally returning to normal after a hellish few weeks! I feel very strongly that now, being in my mid-30s, my skin needs to pick a side: I either have fine lines *or* acne, but not both! Harumph!
@tastelikewater the struggle is real 😆 I get it, trust me. But you look like a doll 😍
Bare-faced and still looking beautiful @tastelikewater Your skin looks fine in this pic, but I know we are all hyperaware of anything like that. On a side note, does your hat say love your melon? Is that the brand or just a slogan? Because it's pretty awesome.
@sprocketta Love Your Melon is an awesome brand! Their hats are made in the US, and 50% of their net profit from each product sold goes towards charitable programming for pediatric cancer.
After some soccer today before hopping in the shower. I'm Erica and 32. I have almost 2 1/2 year old identical twin boys. I really enjoy having BIC as a social outlet since I am still learning the makeup ropes. Love seeing all these faces!
ETA: I do statistics about real estate so the data geek in me loves mentions of spreadsheets and seeing the results from the masking surveys.
