First, I want to give a HUGE round of applause to @TeamBIC for organizing this gratis! 👏👏👏 When I saw the thread really get rolling, I couldn't believe how generous the gifts were and I still cannot imagine the amount of work it must have taken to design these pretty boxes, to curate so many wonderful goodies, and to have them all packed and shipped out quickly 💪 I'm blown away, thank you!
I received the same products and shades as everyone else. Other than the BITE scrub, they're all new to me <333
Everyone has taken such fantastic photos and swatches so I thought I'd also share some swatches with products not included in this box so those of you still expecting might get a better idea of how the shades compare 🙂
The YSL is hands down my fave. I love a classic red lip and the Insurgent Red colour is very flattering on my skin. It's bold enough for evenings out, but the brightness of the hue is dialed down so it's also low-key enough for daily office wear and more conservative settings. The YSL is so close to Besame's Red Velvet that I'd call it a dupe. The Besame has a drier, more pigmented formula while the YSL has more sheen a little sparkle. It's so subtle, my phone camera didn't pick it up.
Underdawg definitely would benefit from using a clear, waxy lip liner. You can see from the pic how it bled a little and it did the same on my lips. It's more matte when it dries down and worth the challenge of application because it doesn't budge after. My tip is to be bold. Swipe once, don't hesitate, and you will get a cleaner, smoother line.
Pillow Talk is a great formula! Creamy and light yet opaque. I prefer warmer shades for my nudes but sometimes I like a cooler look. Pillow Talk and Chai are both very cool for my skin. I'd say they're the coolest I can go with a nude shade without giving the dreaded corpse lips effect ha ha. I can see why Pillow Talk is so popular, the coverage is great.
I haven't swatched Sephora's Candy Love because I honestly don't have any lippies close in shade to make a useful comparison! It is not what I expected at all and wears opaquely. I'm also looking forward to testing the Tatcha lip mask ❤️
