Hi BIC!
A lot of us have talked about our huge lipstick collections, and with the passing of another National Lipstick Day, I took stock of mine. I have about 200 lipsticks and glosses and realized, I only wear about 20 of them! So I'm challenging myself (and whoever else wants to join) to use more of them. I'm going to try to wear a different lipstick every day for the next 100 days.
I was always screwing up photos and my daughters would get mad at me because I ruined pics of them or me and them and they sat me down and gave me some lessons re taking good pics. Lol I guess Iโve improved and itโs only taken me years. I play around with settings and filters but try not to go too crazy. I have an old phone so it doesnโt take good photos unless I adjust settings to face, scenery, hi def, scenery etc. Very hard to find a good yellow liner that is bright. Iโve heard good things about Colorpop and Linda Halbergโs mood pencils.
Either way it looks fantastic on you @WinglessOne
Thanks @Anonymous !
Oh interesting with the lighting. I just head towards a window and hope for the best. My hubs had a nice lighting area set up for me at our old place but I never really got back into it when we moved. I should ask him to set me up again just for kicks! It was fun having a mini makeshift studio to play in:). @WinglessOne
Haha for me the best lighting to show the accurate colors of lipsticks or eye shadows is in my car. Or "good enough" lighting is in the office when I cant take a good selfie in the car ๐ @heartsmyface @WinglessOne
@heartsmyface Daylightโs usually best, for sure. Sometimes I go to a window, or wait til Iโm outside to take selfies. Once upon a time, I lived in a true Chicago loft and set up part of my space as a mini photo studio. This was back in the pre-smartphone days, so there was no instant checking of photosโwhich meant I was constantly tweaking the lighting and angles a bit to ensure at least one photo of a series was what I wanted. Those were the days! ๐ I do kinda miss it sometimes, but modern day digital 35mms and smartphone cameras are wonderfully convenient.
I love Rose Rouge on you (in the kitchen lighting!)
The difference in camera resolution! Wow!
Thanks @tsavorite ! Thatโs the iPhone XS rear camera vs. front camera. I think itโs good to take selfies with a higher res camera sometimes, to remind folks what skin actually looks like in real life. ๐ Itโs a lot more convenient to use the front camera though; kinda hard to line up a good selfie with the rear camera sometimes.
Edit: To be fair, though, that rear camera sees much more sharply than my eyes do. I swear that camera picks up and accentuates EVERYthing. Some folks fear 10x mirrors because โoh no, I can see EVERY bump and pore!โ Haha, thatโs nothing compared to a newer phoneโs rear facing camera. ๐
Ha, but if you do your makeup in a 10x mirror it tends to look flawless if you manage to resist the urge to keep adding more to cover the imperfections you canโt normally see! @WinglessOne
@heartsmyface ๐ As Iโve told many a friend and younger relative, โwhenever you think you need to add more, check a 1x mirror first. Do not be fooled by the 10x!โ
@WinglessOne And never ever ever sit in front of a 20x mirror with a pair of tweezers. Just donโt.
NARS Velvet lip glide in Burning Love, no lipliner.
I hate to say it but not as good as Lancome Labsolue Lacquer. But, when you put it on top of NARS powermatte, it makes the color brighter and shinier without losing the staying power of the power matte ๐ It doesnt dissolve like glosses
Oh, good to know it pairs well with the powermatte! Iโve seen the velvet lip glide a couple times, but never swatched it myself! It looks marvellous on you! @Buootiful
Thank you! You are too kind ๐ @Guessgal โค๏ธ
Very pretty strawberry shade on you @Buootiful perfect compliment to the blue ๐ you wear the bright shades beautifully.
Thank you so much! I thought it was going to be more red than pink based on the bottle color but it works *High five! @2manyperfumes
That color looks so pretty on you @Buootiful!โค๏ธ
@Buootiful Itโs gorgeous! And youโre looking especially nice today. New skincare? Your glow is wonderful!
Thank you so much but the glow is coming from the outside light ๐ ! In a way, It is new skincare @heartsmyface . I hadnt done a chemical exfoliation mask in a while cuz this one is extremely uncomfortable. Its from Little barn apothecary -Passion Fruit + Rose Enzymatic Exfoliant. Very interesting but I cant tell results because the tingling scares me so I dont do it 1x a wk, but the red goes away by the time I wake up.
