100 Days of Lipstick Challenge

Hi BIC!

A lot of us have talked about our huge lipstick collections, and with the passing of another National Lipstick Day, I took stock of mine. I have about 200 lipsticks and glosses and realized, I only wear about 20 of them! So I'm challenging myself (and whoever else wants to join) to use more of them. I'm going to try to wear a different lipstick every day for the next 100 days.

@keana1 Ulta used to sell it. The full name is Cargo HD Picture Perfect Lip Primer, if you’re interested in looking for it. On me it’s not moisturizing at all, so it needs a good lip balm underneath. It cost me $15-20 USD when I bought it (last year, I think) from Ulta. I think most Walgreens that sell theBalm also still sell Cargo, so you might be able to find the primer there. Kohl’s and Dermstore sell some Cargo stuff, too.

That color looks so good on you, @WinglessOne I only wear it when I am feeling ready to take on the world😆! I’ve heard some good recommendations on BITE BEAUTY - Line & Define Lip Primer for more definition. I haven’t picked it up yet but am adding to my (growing) November list.

@eshoe, @WinglessOne, the Bite is pretty good and I chose it for their natural ingredients. For me, it works better as an overliner to kep the color from spreading rather than putting it on the lips. I only dab a little on the lips because it does leave a slight white cast.

Thanks @eshoe! I still haven’t tried any Bite Beauty stuff for some reason. They kinda remind me of Lipstick Queen, and I like that brand. I’ll check out their lip primer. My cart’s already too full for the August BI appreciation sale (I need to do some *serious* list editing) but I wouldn’t mind buying this primer on sale, for testing purposes. MAC Prep + Prime Lip is my gold standard, so we’ll see how this one compares. 🙂

I haven’t heard of that one, @WinglessOne-and I definitely need one. I am one of those who seeks out the perfectly matching liner before wearing a bold color, and rarely finding one, I don’t wear the color🙄 But I am pretty motivated to do so now, to use up and to make the most of the colors I do have. Checking out that Mac now, thank you for the tip!!!

@WinglessOne Thanks! I think it would be quite difficult for me to get it since I live in Canada and if I order from Ulta it will cost me twice the amount + Customs ... But there are both a MAC and Sephora store 5 minutes away so I might try the MAC lip primer!

Tom Ford Lips & Boys in Peter

@jozkid This is really subtle, but it looks lovely.  I've been tempted by the Tom Ford lipstickers but I get sticker shock when I look at the price.  Are they worth it?

In all honesty @sprocketta, it really depends on the color. Temptalia did not rate the one I have on very highly. I like the color, it fills a hole in my collection for that kind of shade, but it’s not stellar. I also have Bruised Plum, which is a full-size color (talk about sticker shock!) which applies better and lasts longer. 

If if you have the choice, go for one of the smaller ones (the Boys or Girls). The price bite isn’t quite so bad and you have a prayer of finishing it. I have heard some people say their lippies turned on them kind of quickly. Ugh

When my no buy ends I will have to swatch in store. I would definitely go with the boys and girls since I've never finished a full size lipstick.

@snoflakefaerie I know how you feel with the metallics.  I'm iffy on them but then really end up enjoying them.  It looks really nice on you, though.  I have the same formula in In Bloom and love it.  My only complaint is that it makes the lines in my lips ultra-visible.
