Has anyone out there tried the Top Box Subscription? โจ๏ธ๐ฆโจ๏ธ
I did and was on the fence about it. I got my first Box and I think I'm going to keep going with it, until next month at least.
Details:
Canadian Sub box for 15$ that gives you 4 trial sized of random products.
Pro: Affordable
Con: Who knows what you'll get ๐ค and tiny products.
My first Box ๐
(Wearing Laritzy in Dusty Rose)
The Clairns oil is more sample than trial size so menh ๐ด but I'm okay with the mini mascara, I use it everyday so it'll serve me well lol
So my break down is just in that spoiler above. ๐
Final thoughts? ๐ฆ
SO, for now, I'm going on for another month. I'm excited to see where this goes.
If you've had this sub box I'd love to hear about it! What did you think, what did you get? And are you still in?
@CynthieLu Iโm curious to know what your usual routine is now!
I didnโt email them but Iโm ok with missing out this month. I have plenty of products thanks to the sale.
My routine is very flexible and changes depending what I think my skin needs @JoSometimes.
A safe face wash. That's currently either one by Skinfix, FAB and CeraVe atm.
Serums depending on my skin at that moment- Ordinary Niacinamide, Sunday Riley Vitamin C, Elisabeth Arden Superstar (this is a ceramide serum), Dr Dennis Gross Hyularonic Acid.
Moisturizers I've got way too many on the go right now ๐ ๐ ๐ but L'Oreal, Biotherm, Glow Recipe etc..
A facial oil and SPF.. I don't know if you want to hear all the brands etc..
But I use a few, a lot, a little of this or that just depending on what's going on with my skin.
@CynthieLu Thank you for sharing! Youโve got quite the routine! I see a number of my favourites in there.
Its just a mish mash what I think will work best that specific day @JoSometimes ๐
@cianni @JoSometimes @Westcoasty
I thought maybe since we are all involved ( or have been in the past) with Top Box I wasn't the only one to get the email about the Luxe Box?
It was 26$(ish I think) and all proceeds went too Charity.
I decided to get it, I like that all proceeds went too a good cause. ๐
Let's open it together ๐
There was a sweet card on the top ๐
โ
And what's in this little box ๐
โ
โ
And some close ups!
A sparkly lip plumping balm ๐
A Mac Eyeshadow Duo.
These are all mini's except for the Clairns Moisturizer and Lip Balm.
I thought I'd tried every benefit mascara but maybe not this one ,๐ค it isn't ringing any bells.
3 Glam Glow mini masks I have tried but the tinted moisturizer will be new to me.
I thought for a good cause I'll decide to keep what I like and gift the rest too friends and family. I'm.defintley happy with this, like I mentioned all the proceeds to to charity and I get some fun beauty items. Nobody looses here. ๐
They have another luxe style box coming out at the end of the month but I think it's more expensive.
Thanks for unboxing with me! ๐ป
@CynthieLu ahh yes I picked this up too!! What shades in the mac did you get? I got cork and a sparkly bronze shade that is so lovely. Iโm gifting a lot of the box as stocking stuffers, but am keeping the Mac, plumping balm, Clarins Hydra-Essentiel Silky Moisturizer with Double Dose Hyaluronic Acid 1.7 oz / 50 mL (this is my third bottle and I love this stuff!) and the glam glow moisturizer. I highly recommend it! I add it to my moisturizer, and it adds a beautiful dewy glow. It is highly fragranced though (unless they changed the formula), so if youโre sensitive to that then itโs something to be aware of! It smells very tropical
@cianni Ooh I appreciate all this product feed back. The Glam Glow Moisturizer and Clarins are both ones I've never tried. I looooove a good moisturizer so this is great too hear ๐๐My skin is drrrrryyy.
I recieved the Mac shades Charcoal Brown and Amber Lights. The make a nice little duo. โจ๐ค
Thank you for the fragrance heads up, my skin is usually fine with it but it can be a huge trigger for some, that's good info too share. ๐
@CynthieLu Thank you for sharing the experience with all of us! I love the spoiler within a spoiler. ๐
That lippie looks interesting. Iโm curious to hear your thoughts. And a Mac palette? Amazing!
I had to test out this one right away @JoSometimes It's a very sparkly little item when you're looking directly at it. โจ
( Me trying to catch the sparkle ๐)
Those glitters are nicely subtle on the lips. For me, I didn't detect and burning or tingling from the plumping effect.
It leaves a light pink trace behind. This was a non drying not overly sticky gloss, this one I think I'll enjoy using.
โ
@CynthieLu That is so pretty! Looks like you go so many great finds in this box.
@CynthieLu Looks like an awesome subscription box and how great that it's for a good cause! ๐ Loved getting to "unbox it with you", I also see you got a little helping hand from your kitty โค๏ธ
Thank you @QueenMarceline ๐ She kept trying to fit into the tiny box it came in, but she's so big. ๐ I didn't have the heart to take it away from her, she just smushed her way into it. ๐น
This was promoted by TopBox, so not my actual sub box. (That one is 15$ CAD d gives you 3-5 random testers.)
It's a similiar idea except it was just a one time thing too raise money for Look Good, Feel better.
@CynthieLu Haha, hey if it fits she sits! ๐น
I looked more into the sub box and it seems like it's Canada only (at least for now?) but seems to be fairly solid for the $15 range ๐
Your a good detective ๐ง @QueenMarceline that's right!
This is a Canadian Sub Box and on my quest awhile back for an affordable subscription service this was the one I landed on.
Its super affordable and it lets me try a few sample size products every month. Mostly tester size but I've lucked into a few full size lippies, and a full size bha/aha serum and SPF. I don't know how long I'll stay with it but for now it's pretty fun ๐
@CynthieLu Super cool that they offer it for Canadian beauties, since it seems like many subs don't ship to Canada. Honestly I love tester/sample sizes especially for travel and when you can snag some great quality minis. I relied on my subs so much that honestly last time I traveled I had to go and shell out $$$ for some travel minis of products which I haven't done in a while.
Can't wait to see what else you get in the upcoming months โค๏ธ
Thank you @QueenMarceline ๐
Its so true, a good local sub box was a huge challenge to find. For the price it's such a painless splurge ๐ I'd recommend it to anyone who had the extra money to play with and wanted to try a few new brands or products every month.
@CynthieLu That looks like a ton of fun! I especially love that lippie.
I stopped my Topbox subscription while I was unemployed, because I kept needing to put groceries on my credit card and was getting a little alarmed. I might go back to it at some point, but right now I have So. Much. Product. that I'm considering just chucking some of it out unused, as it feels overwhelming. I only have one face. LOL
But I think your latest Topbox looks fantastic. ๐ Enjoy!
@Westcoasty I do remember you stopped, I wasn't sure if this email made it to you. Thank you ๐ The lippie and the Moisturizer are going to be useful ๐ (Some of these might go too my niece, friends or family.)
This was not the regular Sub, but a special one time purchase to raise money for a cause. I thought I'd share it here because it was run by TopBox.
I think using up what you have is very wise.
Pan It! - 2023 Challenge is dedicated to using up our make up etc.. it can be a challenge to use what we have.
Or shop our stashes rather than get something new
Have you seen that thread before? You might like it. ๐
@CynthieLu I think it all looks like fun, and I'm sure friends and family would appreciate them too. ๐
I've definitely seen (and bookmarked) the Pan It thread, but I found that any time I was saving empties till I got around to taking a photo for the thread, I got annoyed at the clutter and threw them out. LOL
The real problem I'm having is that I'm not using much product of any kind, now that I'm working from home. Lots of days I roll out of bed, chuck on my bathrobe, and go to the computer (not that I'm complaining!). I may not even do skincare, let alone put on makeup. Mostly I'm wearing lip balms, plus the occasional Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Niacinamide Dew Drops Serum 2.7 oz / 80 mL on my clean face.
I am, however, following your tip about rotating product lines! Right now Glow Recipe is my skincare, and L'Occitane's almond line is in my shower.
I honestly never thought I'd feel like I had too much product. I didn't know such a thing was possible for folks like us. But I've actually reached my saturation point. Maybe I'll go back to Topbox once my collection gets pared down, but for now I don't want so much as a sample pack!
You have the right ideas and it's very smart to stay within your limits. @Westcoasty You know exactly what you want and don't want, that's so Important. โฅ๏ธ
I could enjoy just rolling out of bed everyday, except my skin is dry as a dessert and it needs demands a lot of attention.
Lol!
@CynthieLu I'd likely take better care of my skin if it needed the kind of attention yours does! That's why I'm using up my lip balms, albeit slowly. I always have one on my nightstand and one at my desk. I hate having dry lips.
Anyhow, your skin looks great, so you must be doing something right. ๐
