Now that the word is officially outā¦.who will be attending Sephoria NYC 2023 on September 29-30, 2023?
I wonāt be able to attend in person this year (I plan to attend virtually) but I know other members who are already planning and going. If I had to choose a session it would be session 3 with Patrick Ta and Natasha Denona.
Please share your excitement and even photos and experience here if you do go.
@Kdawgkathleen Ahh what an exciting way to celebrate your birthday!! Would love to meet you!
Is anyone else going solo? Any tips for going to the event alone?
My only best friend is my husband š and he is not too keen on spending the day at Sephoria.
@HarleenBedi It seems like there are many traveling solo! Iād recommend staying pretty close to the venue, there are quite a few of us doing that to make it easy to get back and forth.
@HarleenBedi I'm going alone. I'm hoping to get some help from others in the area about getting around.
Hello I will be attending virtually. I would love to go to New York and be there live. I am really excited.
@AlisonD682 Glad youāre joining for the virtual! Sephoria is so magical, and hopefully youāll get to go in person another year!
Hereās a dumb questionā¦if there is the option to get swag at the booths, should I come with a large purse or bag of my own to put it in? Sounds like you donāt get the official swag bag until the end.
@cbradley Yes to everything @heartsmyface said, especially the phone chargers!
I believe there are purse size limits, so you might not be able to bring in a larger purse, but maybe bring a foldable bag, like a Baggu bag. They will give you a paper Sephora bag when you walk in to make "trick or treating" at the booths easier.
@Bradley @Iāve brought my own tote in a backpack in previous years. Mostly cause I brought things to give at the event but itās proved to be worthwhile. They have given out paper bags in the past and some brands have had totes as swag but I honestly wouldnāt rely on those. bringing your own tote and being over prepared is always ideal.
also, bringing your own phone chargers and cables is a must if you plan to attend more than one session. It was near impossible to find an outlet to charge phones in the past.
Thanks for the info!
So the previous years, we were given regular sephora shopping bags for all of the vendor swag. Bags got heavy and uncomfortable to carry so year two I brought a clear plastic tote bag with stronger handles. It was way more comfortable!
Thanks for the suggestion!!
I was wondering if I should bring a suitcase on wheels.
@Tarabotti Iām not sure that they will allow that, but wow that would be convenient!
For those who are going to NYC, is there a meet up planned? If so, I'd love to be a part of it. I'm going to Session 4.
Weāre trying to coordinate everyoneās schedules right now, will likely be Thursday evening or Sunday morning.
@Mcakes Booo, I won't be able to make it to either of those. I'm only going to be in NYC for Sat š I leave Sunday morning.
It's been a hot minute since I've been on BT but when I saw sephoria was in NYC, I bought a ticket!!! I'm so excited but am bummed the session 3 silver is sold out as I was trying to get another ticket to attend with my hubby. I wonder if it worth going to another session with him and keeping the session 3 so I can focus on the masterclasses. Or see if CS can switch my session so I can buy another ticket. So weird how session 3 silver is the only one sold out. I tried to convince hubby it makes sense for me to buy the gold key but he's like, you're not even into makeup like that anymore....so he thinks...this is reactivating my love of Sephora and makeup again lol.
@misscg okay, the first session the brand reps have the most energy and are more enthusiastic about promoting the new products theyāre featuring. This is where you get the most out of your trip and can focus solely on the brands you love the most. The second session is for giving everything a try that you didnāt experience the first session. You will hav etlakef to the other attendee about what booths they have visited after the first session and can plan out your second day. The third session is for running around and getting in depth knowledge on products youāve already had a preview o and for getting to know the brand reps. The fourth is for simply enjoying the whole experience and socializing with no cares in the world.
I mean, if you can go to session three without it being a burden, try CS first and if not, maybe bite the bullet and get a gold (early Bday gift???). When hubby complains, say it's been 4 years since the last in-person one @misscg .
Edited to say: Obviously, I am biased. I just re-read my response, and honestly, it's a lot of money to spend. Treating yourself is always nice, but if you feel doubtful - make a pro/con list. The bags are likely the same between sessions and if you're happy with the Masterclasses with the ticket you have, session 3 may not essential.
