Rouge Friend code not working

My sister sent me the 20% off code for a friend and it hasn’t been working. She sent it to me on WhatsApp and email and it keeps saying something went wrong. Please advise. I’m afraid the items I want are selling out. 

side note, the app hasn’t been working all day.
