I was sent a used Dyson hairdryer?!

I purchased a Dyson hairdryer on 4/17/2020. I went to Dyson’s website yesterday to register/activate the warranty. After typing in the serial number, it states that it was purchased in September of 2018. I did not spend over $300 to get a USED Dyson product. If I have an issue with it, I apparently only have 5 months left on the warranty... on something I JUST received in the mail last week. This is crazy.

This has literally just happened to me! Dyson has sent me a used hair dryer and it arrived with a short, curly hair in the barrel (ew) and the charge cord is covered in scratches. I've had a ton of back and forth with their horrible customer service team and after being blown off by both the escalation department and a phone rep, I'm just returning the thing.
