I found a BUG inside a product I just received today. Can anyone help me with that issue?

To Whom It May Concern,

 

I bought this product HERBIVORESelf Love Bath + Body Ritual Kit ITEM 2150365 and just received the kit today. I open the jar, - 4 oz/ 112 g Coconut Milk Bath Soak, and started to use it. I found a "brown dot" right after opening the jar. I talked to myself: that's ok, it might just be a dust", so I started to use it. However, after zooming in with my camera, I found the brown dot was A BUG!!! I could see its legs....

 

Could anybody tell me what's that thing and why would it happen??? I feel disgusting and am so afraid that I will have allergic reactions later....

 

Could someone help me with this situation asap?

Hi Rebecca, 

 

I think this issue should be dealt with more seriously. It's not a broken item or defective item. It's a serious issue that an insect could ever existed in a skin care/body care product! How terrifying!

 

Please let me know if Sephora would provide further help or solutions for this issue.

I completely understand your frustration. As talked about in our PMs, we take these incidents very seriously and we have forwarded this to the appropriate Team for review. All of our items are sent to our Distribution Centers are sent directly from the brand's manufacturer and it seems like the item you received is defective. Rest assured we are taking this very seriously and we thank you for bringing this to our attention.
