Help with returns

I got a gift that I’d like to return, but I don’t have a receipt. The store closest to me is a JCP and they can’t do it because they aren’t real Sephora and can’t do anything—don’t get me started. The real Sephora told me it’s Sephora policy not to accept anything for return without a receipt, which I know is not true. The item isn’t a fortune, but I’d like to get something else that I’ll actually use instead. What can I do? If I make the return without a receipt will I get banned from returning items? I’ve heard it doesn’t take much and I do return stuff regularly.

Hi @Funkissedjm,

I am sorry to hear that you are having issues with making a return. You do need your original receipt to return or exchange in stores including Sephora inside JCPenney. If you used your Beauty Insider account when you made your purchase you can view your purchase history and show that to a Beauty Advisor in store as proof of purchase as well. I also suggest that you contact the store directly to see if you can make an exchange, however, it is our policy that you have your original receipt. Thanks. I guess I’ve always had purchases on my rewards card before so it didn’t matter that I didn’t have a receipt.
