Canโ€™t redeem scent certificate

I got one of the Sephora favorite travel spray fragrance samplers, when I enter the code to redeem the scent I chose it tells me I have exceeded the number of redemptions allowed even though it is has not been redeemed. I see this same problem on other threads but no solution just PMs sent. ๐Ÿ˜ž I donโ€™t live close to an actual Sephora store (just kohls Sephora) is there any online options for this??? 

I have had no problem redeeming any other coupon from the others but I see numerous people on the travel size ones that have had this problemโ€ฆ.

I received the Kohls Sephora Perfume Sampler Scent Certificate from my daughter today. I chose which perfume I wanted to order as my local Kohls did not have it in stock. I used the SKU for the perfume provided in the certificate along with the bar code coupon number. It showed I would only have to pay for shipping and tax, chose to pay with PayPal, and once I was switched over to PayPal it showed I had to pay $116. This was obviously not correct. So, I backed out and went back to the Kohls site, and was asked to re-enter the coupon code. I received a red message stating the code had already been redeemed. I did enter the code but I did not follow through and pay for the shipping. So, the item has not been ordered. How do I go about using the code to order my item if I can no longer use the code. I also do not understand why once I signed into PayPal I was being charged the full price. It should be fairly easy for Kohls or Sephora to check and see if my code was successfully used and the order placed.
