Exfoliating

Just wondering, in my skin care routine can I skip the exfoliating some days? Like maybe do 2-3 times a week, or would that mess up everything?

I think it may be to much doing it each day once a day even.
I have Paula’s choice exfoliate

Re: Exfoliating

@Kateykates  If your exfoliant is an AHA (alpha hydroxy acid: glycolic, lactic, mandelic, etc.), then you shouldn’t use it daily. It’s easy to over-exfoliate and damage your skin with AHAs, especially glycolic acid. Keep AHAs to just 1-3 times a week max. You can exfoliate even less frequently than that, if you want. Unless your doctor instructs otherwise, daily AHA use is harmful overkill.

For BHA (salicylic acid) exfoliating, frequency really depends on your skin’s tolerance level. BHA is great at clearing dead skin cells and excess sebum out of pores (that’s something AHAs can’t do), but it can be very drying. Some folks can handle BHA daily. Others need to keep BHA to just 1-3 times a week.

Which Paula's Choice exfoliant do you use?
