Summer Cheek Challenge 2025: A Song & A Slay

Sun's out, whether you're outside with easy breezy beach vibes, camp vibes, OOO vibes, staycation status..... Or all of the above, we're going to blush, bronze and highlight through it allllllllll.  So whether you're shopping your stash, tipping your temples into draping, or justifying your 10000000th blush, please join in. 

 

This time, I want YOUR SWATCH SONG. 
THAT'S right.  I want your songs of summer and your blush look.  And, I know you're gonna slay it.

But, danielledanielle that doesn't make any sense.  These are two separate things, like whyyyyy?  

Well, I'm at this point, you haven't figured out that I'm open for all interpretation, but okay okayyyy

For each challenge, I want a song that just gives you that summer vibe.  Bonus if you can give me a playlist and post to either BIC Playlist and/or 🎶✨Song of the Day and Music Thread!✨🎶 
Red and Ready\RED-dy (June 16-22): Juneteenth Week
(Read up on Juneteenth and why this is typically it's more of an independence day than independence day 😑)
But, embrace that red blush trend and give me a song that gets you RED-dy for the summer.  It can be a muted red as well, I.e., something with green tint/tone to it.

Staycation Radiostation (June 23-29): the vibe is, I'm home, and home is the best club.  What are we wearing, what are we listening to?

Highlight on the Horizon Hotlist (Jun 30-Jul 5): What is the song you'd connect with sunset blush?  Give me your tunes and your favorite blush + highlight combo. 

Bronzed Up Beats (July 6-12) Sun and fun, what's your favorite uptempo song and what's your current bronzer situation? Powder, creme, liquid...all the above?  Bonus if we're also using bronzer for contour.  (I'm not saying these are interchangeable.  But, yes, you can contour with bronzer, and for some undertones/overtones it works out much better 🙋🏽‍♀️💚🩶)

Camp Crescendo (July 13-19): Bonfire and a bop... What's the look for a day of glamping/camping? If you don't camp/glamp and glam, feel free to drop the skincare/SPF routine.

Top Tier Top 5 (July 20-26)
What are your favorites for cheek combos?  USE THEM this week.  This is my "use your pretty things" year and this is the week I'm doing it.  You trying to pan? GO.  You have a drawer of blushing spilling out? Go wild!  Give me your top five songs and top five cheek products.

Doja Cat ad campaign for Marc Jacobs, its major staycation vibes.  I felt pinky gold says staycation and there's something playful, but luxe about this campaign (for me).

I looove seeing an inspo look like you included @danielledanielle ❤️ How are you feeling about the Ciele products? They are new to me.

Personally, I think they are easier to deal with than Rare Beauty's @PDXXXX .  They are much more buildable in that I can go back and add a dot if I've blended it out too much.  The colors do not look the same on skin than they do in the tube, especially the highlighters.  Giselle looks so bright, but it dries down to a really soft pink on me.

The inspo, I screenshot'ed the original newsletter in preparation for the week, but that was on the old phone I lost and didn't get back, thankfully there's still ongoing emails.  It's such a good campaign, and Doja 's very photogenic.

Ciele flies under the radar, but they've got some good stuff, I would love a sample of the concealer to try next

Doing a litte catch up as I was on vacation. Used the same combo of blush and bronzer for the cheek challenge for this and last week's theme @danielledanielle, but in different ways.

Soak up the sun I did (with sunscreen, of course!) on vacay. 😊

Blush: Finding Ferdinand Blush (shade: Pho), applied higher up to create a more lifted look.

Same bronzer and blush shades as last week, but today, the bronzer was applied all over, to better match the bit of color I now have. 🙌🙌 Same blush color, but, this time, I used the underpainting technique with it, for a softer, more blended look.

It's soooo good, right @Cissy63?! I have it in a few shades and love how versatile and as you said blendable it is. Have you tried any of his other bronzer products, like the sticks or the powders?

@itsfi  I haven’t tried the sticks, but I have one of the powders, one that has 3 shades in one.  It’s fine but for me not as good as the SoftSculpt.

I like the blood/wine 🍷 tone of Pho @itsfi , and I'm always for a good blonzer moment , especially when it's a vacay crossover.

I think vacay vibes stayed with me for a little longer than usual @danielledanielle - I was so used to just reaching for the MAKE UP FOR EVER HD Skin Face Essentials Long-Lasting Full Face Cream Palette when I actually did my makeup and then it was grab a brush and dab into a few shades, any shades, and onto the cheeks. 😅 I may have found the blood red / wine blush shade that I didn't really know I was looking for in this Finding Ferdinand Pho. ☑️

Super minimalist (for me) skincare and makeup look. I just used toner, moisturizer and a tinted eye cream (no SPF, oops!). Makeup is only MERIT The Minimalist Perfecting Complexion Foundation and Concealer Stick , Urban Decay Big Bush Volumizing Tinted Brow Gel , L'Oreal Panoramic Mascara, and Saie Dew Blush Liquid Cream Blush Rosy . Lips have got a natural flush with the Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare DermInfusions™ Plump + Repair Lip Treatment with Hyaluronic Acid .33 oz / ... . 

This is definitely something I would wear at home or to run a quick errand. I was running late today and had to prioritize.
