Thanks sooo much for your observations, @luvgloss13! Great to hear that it's creamy and bright (and that you don't find it too glittery). It is a beautiful highlighter, for sure!!
@TraceyEB . YW 🙂
I think makeup, like shoes is soooo YMMV.
I wish people could swatch and try it for themselves and not rely on Chanel direct and not being able to return if they hate it.
I also disliked the tweed blushes, they were hard and stiff with very poor color pay off. But I am sure someone loves them. lol
@TraceyEB Yes. I had them all and purged them. Unless they reformulated, they are an easy skipf or me.
The best one was Tweed Fuchsia.
I love Joues Contrast though, lovely blushes !
Hi @luvgloss13,did you try the blushes from the 2017 Chanel collection, Chanel Energies et Puretes? I was hoping under Lucia Pica, the pigmentation would be really good.
I love these blushes so much!!!!!
Love the look of those blushes! The woven effect is so pretty. Sad to hear the pigmentation isn't great, I'll have to keep an eye out to see if they've reformulated and improved at all.
I've tried mine out a few times since last week and I do agree with her assessment of the 'shimmer'/'microglitter' however, with a few caveats.
1) I find that after a bit of time on the skin the glittery particles aren't as obvious. It's not that it's wearing off quickly but that they seem to mesh more with the skin (YMMV depending on your skintone, though)
2) Even with it having the little glitters, I never found it emphasized pores, which IMO is impressive
That said, mine was a gift, not a purchase so I might've felt differently if I'd purchased it with my own money.
@Mochapj I agree! It doesn't emphasize pores at all and to me is very smooth and not chunky.
Mine was a gift and I purchase another for a gift and one for a back up! lol
I was able to reorder the highlighter but kind of nercipus hearing about how glittery it is
I am very wary of Chanel highlighters ever since their Mouche de Beaute highlighter. It was a glitterbomb and no review even mentioned glitter. These were big chunks too, like the size of the glitter in UD shadows. Sorry but Chanel glitter is still glitter. I hope you like it or can return it if not satisfied.
Camelia is available again
I was wondering if anyone has the Hyperfresh Joues Contraste and would share your thoughts? It looks like it could really brighten up my face, but it could also be bad if it's too warm. Thanks!
Do those of you who received the Camelia Illuminating Powder love it on? My order got messed up and I didn't get mine but after reading more about it being glittery I'm considering skipping next week now. Thoughts?
Honestly I hate it and if I could return it I would. My skin is very fair and I don't see any sort of highlight at all - just a lot of chunks of glitter that fade very quickly. Dior, Kevyn Aucoin, Becca, ABH, Charlotte Tilbury and even Glossier highlighters are all miles better imo. If I had been able to try it first, I wouldn't have paid $10 for it, let alone $70.
@seaofcowardsWhy you can`t return it? I was checking Chanel return policy bub did not find anything about only new item can be returned or something like this.
I contacted customer service and was told they don't accept used makeup returns. I'll see if another rep tells me something different.
@seaofcowards You can return used Camelia. I bought one, tried and decided to return. No problem, got my refund today.
I'll be honest, it is very glittery, and not at all what I expected. I have used it twice, and both times it is nothing but glitter on my face. It also doesn't last as long as other highlighters I have tried, such as the Dior 001. It is very pretty, but not at all worth the price, and I wouldn't have got it had I known.
Thanks so much for your input Really appreciate it. 🙂
