Bobbi Brown Thread

The Bobbi Brown thread.  Bobbi Brown was the first brand that got me excited about makeup.  So I'll always have a soft spot for BB.  And now Sephora has the amazing 25 year year palette.

Note, the holiday lip shade is sold out on Nordstrom.  I'm going to be watching for it on Sephora's site.

Re: Bobbi Brown Thread

@tsavorite  I won't know until I get it tomorrow.  I do know that if you use a 15% code, you can't get the Mystery Gift also.  Bobbi Brown only allows for one code per order.

Re: Bobbi Brown Thread

@tsavorite, I would return the purchase as well. I considered placing an order, but changed my mind. It is disappointing when an offer is not properly honored/fulfilled.

Re: Bobbi Brown Thread

Oh, that's not a lipstick. It's literally a piece of ribbon and a safety pin. That was in my box too. I'm baffled.

Re: Bobbi Brown Thread

@RachM89,

I did get the ribbon and safety pin.  I was confused by "Pink Ribbon(2010)" on the invoice and thought that a Pink Ribbon lipstick should have accompanied it as my Mystery Gift.  I had previously heard that some other BT'ers were receiving pink lipsticks as their gift.  Duh!  No, Mystery Gift was not on my invoice.  So, I have no complaint with Bobbi Brown for my package.  I chose to get the 15% off my 1st order.  That choice kept me from getting the Mystery Gift, even though I spent twice as much as needed to qualify for one, even with the 15% off. I talked with BB Customer Service.

If I did order a Mystery Gift and then received one that was worth less than $40, I would not have been happy with that, because the BB website clearly stated that the Mystery Gift would be worth $40. I won't be placing a second order to get the Mystery Gift after hearing what gifts others have received.

Re: Bobbi Brown Thread

@tsavorite

Was the Mystery Gift listed on your invoice? Mine says "Mystery Gift SS13" which I'm taking to mean it's from 2013, which is the last time they did this promo? According to google anyways.

Re: Bobbi Brown Thread

I emailed customer service about my mystery gift. I got a single eyeshadow worth $25 in a color that I would never wear (Pistachio 5A). If it was a pretty color, then I wouldn't mind so much, but eep!

Re: Bobbi Brown Thread

I just emailed them too, clearly it wasn't a single mistake. Seems like they just misrespresented the offer.

Re: Bobbi Brown Thread

My Mystery Gift was a Bobbi To Go set with mini shadow stick in Taupe, mini smokey eye mascara, and mini makeup remover. If you calc values based on full size products it falls a little short of $40. I am a little disappointed because they are all samples that I already own and the value is not quite there. Oh well.

Re: Bobbi Brown Thread

@TriesToBoClassy, this is what I got also.  @tsavorite.  A waste for me, because the eye color is bad for me, I don't like their mascara (this one is already dried out,) and I am swimming in makeup remover.

Also, the mini gel eyeliner pot I ordered is so dried out I can't even get enough of it onto the brush and it won't apply in a line; just crumbs and smears.

Re: Bobbi Brown Thread

@Ispend2much6 that's too bad, what is the manufacturing code on the eyeliner?

Re: Bobbi Brown Thread

@RachM89  I didn't even bother to look it up; it's already repacked to return.  I contacted them and all they would offer was a free return shipping label.  No admittance of guilt. lol

Re: Bobbi Brown Thread

My order just got delivered to my door, and the free mystery gift was a full size lip color in the limited edition Pink Kiss color. I looked it up and apparently it's from 2014(I assume it's still fine though?)

While the site states the "mystery gift" will be worth at least $40, this was only $26. So, while it's a full size product, it's definitely not as advertised.

Re: Bobbi Brown Thread

@RachM89 I agree with the comments below that you should call. BB usually has good service so hopefully they do something for you!

Re: Bobbi Brown Thread

I think I'll contact them tomorrow, I'm not usually one for complaining. I'm just grateful the lipstick looks good on me, even though it's not really the advertised gift, lol.

Re: Bobbi Brown Thread

Should also mention that the website states that all orders will be gift wrapped, but mine most definitely was not. Which was disappointing as it was supposed to be a gift for my mom. Not sure if I should contact them about these issues?

Re: Bobbi Brown Thread

I would definitely call. I've been disappointed by the mystery gift promo in the past and pay it no attention. I was curious what the gifts would be because of the high price listed. You should definitely get the value advertised.

Re: Bobbi Brown Thread

@RachM89 I would say something!  And I will if I get the same gift with my shipment, if for no reason other than to bring attention to their inaccurate description.  I made a point of saying how wonderful the gifts are (up until now they have been,) and now I regret saying anything.

Re: Bobbi Brown Thread

Huh, definitely take it up with them on livechat etc. From my experience they are usually responsive. I will receive my package tomorrow, I will update as well.

Re: Bobbi Brown Thread

Thank you @RachM89.  I came over here to see if anyone received their mystery gift yet.

Re: Bobbi Brown Thread

For those of you still considering pieces from the City Collection, here is a pic of the Gunmetal Ink long-wear gel eyeliner. Described as a dark steel on the BB site, it's a smooth pewter color but once you scratch the surface, you can see flecks of sparkle. It doesn't show as sparkle on the eye, but does give a nice bit of dimension.

(Thanks @meganlisa for the gilt coupon that helped the purchase!) IMG_0350.JPG

Re: Bobbi Brown Thread

It's so pretty, @myaelle!  Those little pots are addicting.
