The Bobbi Brown thread. Bobbi Brown was the first brand that got me excited about makeup. So I'll always have a soft spot for BB. And now Sephora has the amazing 25 year year palette.
Note, the holiday lip shade is sold out on Nordstrom. I'm going to be watching for it on Sephora's site.
@RachM89 I got so many emails in my inbox over the past three days I ignored this one. You've sold me though. If still in stock I'm going to jump on this one. Thanks!
@meganlisaI think I got about 300 emails about black friday sales, lol
@RachM89 It was out of control. And I committed to finishing a project over this long weekend which was a huge issue... Believe it or not, a couple of BTers were sending me messages about the sales I couldn't miss. And you just added one. So I got to juggle it all! Thanks!
I got an email from BB a few days ago saying that they would send me some deluxe samples for the disappointment surrounding the "mystery gift" promo, which was totally cool by me. I was totally surprised to get a heavy box today with 3 FULL size items and 2 deluxe samples (over $140 worth of items!)
It's safe to say they definitely kept a customer
@RachM89 I love that! I have been tardy on the board. I don't think many companies realize how a little customer service on their end can create such brand loyalty (and love). That is just amazing! So glad they made things right.
Glad to hear they made it right! Enjoy your goodies:)
@meganlisa Here are some swatches of Bond plus possible dupes:
Bond is the long stripe, and then from the top: Shiseido Rouge Rum Punch, Urban Decay Mosh Pit, Mac Viva Glam III, and Bobbi Brown Raisin. I feel like my camera made them all look a little warmer than they are in real life. VG 3 is probably the closest dupe, although they do wear differently on me.
Cocoa and Hot Cocoa were disappointing (especially the latter) -- both were pretty much straight browns, no mauve or plum or other tones, and they were practically identical, other than Hot Cocoa being a little deeper. They didn't work on me at all, so I returned them.
@Miradan Thank you! I like Bond a lot. However, the one that really caught my eye is Rum Punch. Wow! I might need that one....
Too bad about Cocoa and Hot Cocoa. I sometimes deal with that too...we buy online and then it looks totally different on or even in the package.
@meganlisa Rum Punch is gorgeous!! And a really nice formula.
An update on my second mystery gift, which was sent to me (comped by the rep via email reply). I got the Bobbi to Go set that comes with a mini shadow stick, mini eye makeup remover, a mini mascara, and a mesh bag. I'm not sure why their replies are all over the place, but I figure it is the same anywhere in which the service you receive depends on who you get. Example, Sephora in Walnut Creek, CA and Sunvalley JCPenny have employees >> Sephora Santa Rosa and Daly City JCPenny Sephora. Had such varied experiences within a 2 day period that it had me scratching my head and tempted to fill out surveys for the bad and great experiences I received. But for those that had a bad experience via chat, maybe try email, which is the route that got me a mystery gift that I think at least met the criteria in the promo.
I emailed them, they sent a generic response 2-3 days later saying they would try to look into it and respond. They never responded 😕
I got the same treatment 😞
That is terrible, I'm sorry that you're having a negative experience. It's making me hesitant to purchase again from BB. I'm feeling the same way when some VIB Rouge ladies were posting updates on their trying to get the 20% off during the VIB event after being told that they could contact the Rouge line and get the % off and then being told no. When all I had to do at Walnut Creek Sephora was ask the cashier and she super cool about it. The inconsistencies all within a few days time is what bothers me.
@Carpineda I agree that responses can vary so much. Why it's best to call back sometimes. I'm constantly amazed...
Has anyone tried both the Bobbi Brown BB cream and the IT cosmetics CC+ cream? I wear a light in the IT cream, but I was wondering if it was a close match to the BB light.
Any thoughts on the Wine and Chocolate palettes? They oddly (not surprisingly) remind me of the Tom ford quads..wondering what is the pigmentation like.
Hey Anewxa,
I bought the Bobbi Brown Chocolate palette and I ended up returning it. I was very disappointed with it. The pigmentation just was not there and it didn't show up very well on me.
Okay I am already amazed with the Bobbi to Glow palette. I used the gold shade today and dipped into it with a pretty dense brush because I know my Pink Quartz doesn't pick up that well. Well with this palette that was a mistake! It's so pigmented and the powders are so soft and blendable. Such a pretty glow and it's more intense than I would have thought which I am so pleasantly surprised with. Off course you could go in with a less dense brush and not have your highlight so blinding but I personally love an intense highlight. I say it's a must have!
Edit: Okay do I need Pink Glow? It's on the site right now and I don't own it. I just bought Bronze glow and am obsessed with it. Is the pink one amazing as well?
