What's on your plate?

Hello there, ladies and gents!

Keeping in line with all the fun and interactive threads asking about your most recent halls, items you have your eyes on, what you're currently wearing, what's your hair routine, and more, I've decide to branch out and ask:

"What's on your plate?"

The beauty world doesn't just stop at skin care and cosmetics, it also goes hand in hand with your overall health and well-being, so with that, I'm curious to see what we're all chowing down and snacking on be it for breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, or inbetween!

For those with apps that help count calories or to those who just want to keep a log, here's a place to share, possibly find and share some recipes, and even tips on maintaining a balanced diet.

Don't just share food items, but even drinks! I'm a huge fan of tea and at least have a cup of green tea a day (anti-oxidants) and drink plenty of water.

For lunch today, I had:

-Brown rice

-Steamed egg

-Steamed red snapper with green onion, sesame oil, and black pepper

-Gai lan (it's a type of Chinese vegetable/greens)

Now, tell me, Beauty Talk world, what do you have? Smiley Very Happy

Re: What's on your plate?

I can't disagree with that! Smiley Wink haha. Glad you had a great trip!!

Re: What's on your plate?

I am drooolllling at catching up on all those delightful and delectable posts shared since I've been away!

Can you say, "YUM"????? Smiley Tongue

My boyfriend and I recently started our own herb garden and a few nights ago we baked salmon and used some fresh dill and parsley harvested!

Re: What's on your plate?

Hey @lylysa, great to see you back. It's been a bit lonely on this thread. Smiley Sad I hope all is well with you. I looking forward to reading your posts.

Re: What's on your plate?

Thank you, DiVWA!

I have certainly missed it here (BT in general, and not just this food thread Smiley Tongue)!

But speaking of food...I've been on a huge spinach kick lately! Been sauteing spinach with mushrooms in a touch of bacon fat for flavor, adding it into my chicken soups and broths, and blending some up with my cream of mushroom/cheese sauce mixes to give a nice splash of color to pasta!

Re: What's on your plate?

Any green is good!

Re: What's on your plate?

Sure is!!!

I think some squirrels and caterpillars are getting to some herbs though, our chives have been gnawed down on and some of our planter boxes definitely have soil kicked out from them. I did catch a caterpillar red-handed munching on a basil leaf Smiley Tongue

Re: What's on your plate?

lylysa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh how I've missed thee.

So great to see you helping people with your advice and positivity again.

I hope everything has been well on all fronts of your life.

Can't wait to see/read about your yummy creations and be amazed by all the insight you bestow upon us..

Baked salmon and fresh herbs sounds bomb!

I hear caterpillars & squirrel taste pretty good, too..Smiley Tongue.

Re: What's on your plate?

OMG! Stefon!!!! ^_^

<3 What a sight!

Thank you for the welcome back and for the awesome Stefon gif!

Re: What's on your plate?

Omg you've been missed!!!!   And mmmmmmm, fresh herbs!!!!   Dill and chives are the only herbs I've successfully been able to grow but I didn't plant any this year.  Jealous.

Re: What's on your plate?

^_^ Aww, thank you for the love, Heartsmyface!

We had a pretty hefty spinach crop going for a bit, but after the first harvest it didn't go very well....I think they got over-watered due to some consecutive rainy nights and then the squirrels got to them. -_- womp womp!

Re: What's on your plate?

Awwww, Darn squirrels!  They're the reason we no longer put up Christmas lights.  We tried two years in a row and even tried spraying them with pepper to no avail.  We probably just made them tastier.

Oh and I want to amend my last statement.  I was also very successful with rhubarb.  Too successful and not on purpose.  I tried mowing over a rhubarb plant to get rid of it.  Big mistake!  If you can't beat it, then pull out the kitchen utensils and make it delicious!

Re: What's on your plate?

Yep!

Re: What's on your plate?

True Story

Re: What's on your plate?

I like to imagine the recipe also has "repeated until your liking" behind the "one clove of garlic" bit....but it's written in the same color as the background of the paper its printed on so it's tough to make out. Smiley Tongue

Re: What's on your plate?

Re: What's on your plate?

Indeed!!!! Garlic is the best ever!

Did you gals hear the story of the woman who was making 40-clove garlic chicken and she accidentally used 40 bulbs? That's me. On purpose. ;D

Re: What's on your plate?

Gimme all da garlic!!!! <3

Re: What's on your plate?

Re: What's on your plate?

Judging garlic is judging you for not using all of the garlic

Today I went with good ole taco bell for lunch!

I tried to insert a picture but it wouldn't upload unfortunately.

but it was freaking delicious!

dorito locos taco, and a beefy nacho loaded griller..

tonight I diet after a splurge on tb!

Re: What's on your plate?

Ooo which Locos Taco was it??? Nacho or Cool Ranch??

Re: What's on your plate?

Nacho! But the cool ranch is equally delicious. Its a toss up as to which one I choose.

Highlighted

Re: What's on your plate?

I never tried the Nacho one (I know, I know...shame) but I love the Cool Ranch because out of the chips themselves I always end up getting the CR.
