I’ve wanted to start this for so long but never got around to it. Back in the day I think I had a similar thread and I wanted to bring it back.

I definitely believe in this @veronika23! I have had vivid dreams at different times in my life about someone I have never met. They make me feel emotional, don’t know how to explain it. I would like to learn more on the whole subject, it is fascinating to me.

Ohhh interesting @angel7594. I understand what you mean though... I've had some too. Maybe it's someone from a past life or maybe one of your guardians? Maybe someone who does past life readings would be best to help you figure it out? I love this stuff so much too! I'll look up something for you and get back to you in a pm 😉

So here's a story I'd sort of forgotten about...

When I was maybe a sophomore in high school I got it in my head to go to high holidays at a conservative synagogue here in town. No specific idea why... I was raised in a different religion that had a bit of crossover, but no calendar-keeping overlap. Never had been there before (or any other shul, either), don't know anyone. I go and am in the main sanctuary with everyone,  not feeling too awkward because lots of people there only show up this one time of year and they don't know anything either. 

...except apparently I can read the prayer book and know all the tunes? (90% of the service is singing prayers) No previous exposure to Hebrew, definitely not on a semi-literate level. The lady next to me is getting lost so I point out where we are in her book a few times. Nobody believes that I essentially just wandered in off the street because, while I am no expert, I definitely am not lost in the whole scene either.

Naturally, this eventually snowballs into lots of other life stories but that was definitely one of those Key Moments, so to speak.

@fieldsofclover WOW!  That is so neat!  Thank you for sharing!  Only time I've ever heard anything like this is when I went on a missions trip to Panama.  Some guy, who claimed he never spoke Spanish and another language, started to speak fluently with the locals.  He was in awe - as were we!

I do believe in past lives - so does my family.

Interesting story that my parents told me a long while ago... 

My uncle who was a bit of a skeptic on this topic witnessed it first hand! My cousin who now is my age - when he was around 3-4 years of age, he would say his name to be something different than what he was born with and he would talk about where he lived, what he did, his kids' names, wife etc. So this was happening so often that my uncle said enough is enough and decided to track down the city/town where he said his son was from - and it all checked out.. a rural community in India. They traveled to this place and found the lady (wife), kids (names all checked out and the ages). My uncle inquired about the name of the deceased husband and how he had died (train accident - he was a train conductor) All checked out with what my cousin had told them. As you can imagine, my uncle is now a reformed man. HIGHLY spiritual now.

@kromance Whoa, that sent massive shivers down my spine!  I totally believe in this stuff!  That is soooo cool!  I watched a TV show that talked about something like this. 

Where did your Uncle live?  That's a lot of money to travel to India  - Did he take the whole family with him?  Once there, did the boy talk to the wife and kids as if he was her deceased husband?  Did she cry and get the closure she needed bc perhaps they were in a fight and this was a way for her to get what she needed?  I want to know more!!!

@Fernleaf  It was pretty unbelievable when my mom told me this! My uncle lives in Kashmir, India. They traveled to some remote village in Maharashtra, India (i think somewhere past Mumbai) Which is still a ways to go!  From what I know, the wife was dumbfounded. My cousin had remembered quite a bit and she apparently could not get any words out..speechless rightfully so. I don't really know what went down other than that, but I'm sure to inquire when I see my uncle later on this year.

I think we all believe and have faith in certain things, but when it REALLY happens in front of your eyes it is hard at first to understand... I think such was the case with the lady. She believed in reincarnation but watching it unravel in front of her eyes - she was in disbelief!

 This stuff is so so fascinating. I remember asking my parents more than ten times if it was true because I was not able to wrap my head around such a huge concept of "reincarnation".  But surely, now I do understand it. That and much more!

Oh wow @kromance!  I love these types of stories! Thanks! Saw a few shows about kids who remembered as well and it had all checked out too. In one the kid visited with the family. It's just so amazing.  I don't think I ever said anything about that type of thing when I was young but remembered as a kid being in a sinking ship... or something like that. I remember the water coming in and trying to get out... and you would think that I'd be afraid of the water but it's what I love the most. 😄

@veronika23 I have seen those too! I never imagined that it would be legit till I was told of this happening on my mom's side of the family. It's so bizarre. Really makes you wonder about what our real purpose of being born is. My uncle was sharing with me that in some texts, it says we have been reincarnated over and over and over again till we reach the human body.. because this is the only life form in which where we have a conscious and can successfully reach Nirvana/Realization/the "Self" state. 

 Your water story reminded me of my brother. When he was younger he used to be very scared of fire. So on our trip to Dharamsala (mcleoudgung) to visit the Dalai Lama, my brother came across a tarot reader - she told him without any questions that he had passed away in his previous life in a fire... blew my mind. I stayed there along with my parents for 2 months - probably the best two-month long vacation ever.

@kromance  yeah it does make you think...  considering many people are finally "waking up" the purpose of some could just be the ones who help others realize it. Do you know what I mean? I know some of my past lives were here though. So I dunno. Maybe. Could be a number of things.

Wow. Yeah totally possible.  Sounds like an amazing vacay!

I'm open to the idea. Has anyone else read Old Souls by Tom Shroder? It has some really compelling stories in it about children supposedly remembering details from former lives.

@quspork  haven't read that book but read stories and seen a few shows where kids remember past lives.  I know growing up I had memories I couldn't place and I've remembered quite a few of my own past lives with the help of a past life reader. It's one of the most interesting thing I've ever experienced.

I'm intrigued that you've been to a past lives reader, @veronika23! That sounds like it would be so fascinating.

@qusporkit is.  He guides you through it. It's hard to describe. I was lying there with my eyes closed and he was beside me slowly asking me questions... and eventually it kinda plays out like little clips in your head but there's like darkness too because your eyes are closed. But you also just feel it. I did have some flashes of images and some deep feelings. One of them I couldn't stop crying. The emotions were so intense... well in that one I was quite young and my parents died. And he would also ask who's that with you (like he sees what you see) and let say I say that's my father, and he would ask who is that in this lifetime and I would say who that person is... in this case my brother. So you are usually surrounded by the same people but their roles are different. In each life you have to learn something from them or they from you. Sometimes either you or they have only a certain amount of time to learn it and if you or they don't, then the "contract" is broken. Which usually means you go your separate ways... that can be because of fight you had for example.
