Everyone has something they love to do or collect. What's yours?
-I am a huge Sailor Moon fan and have a rather large collection, and still growing. I suppose I consider it both, a hobby and collecting
❤️ Moonie for life ❤️
-Limited Edition Disney dolls from The Disney Store, these dolls are just gorgeous
The 🗑♻ one it's the best!! 😂 @greeneyedgirl107
@Skunk12puzzola that reminds me...I have a no. 2 pencil with a 💩 on top for number two. This was way before poop emoji so it was quite unique.
@greeneyedgirl107 Ha, that’s so cool! Do you store them standing upright or in pencil cases?
@heartsmyface most are in Tupperware at my dad's. I kept mine in a slot bucket from Vegas, but it got filled up. So now others are piled on a shelf. I want to go back to Vegas just to buy pencils.
@greeneyedgirl107 I’d want to get them in a display case of some sort so you can appreciate them all!! especially since they make you so happy! Is Vegas the Mecca for finding cool pencils?
@heartsmyface wow!!! Those are all great ideas for displays. Vegas was the mecca back in 2003...idk about now. My sister is living in Japan and we thought she'd be able to find a lot of pencils, but she sd she didn't find a single one. Of course, idk how hard she's been looking. My dad used to get me the best ones from a harmonica store in upstate NY of all places.
@greeneyedgirl107 If she’s in Japan, she should check out The stationary section at Loft and also Tokyo Hands has an entire floor of stationary and aisles of cute pens and pencils! Also, modes4u dot com sells cute pencils. Do they need to be wooden encased?
@heartsmyface oooooh!!! I just texted my sister...I hope she follows through! I will check out that website for sure, too.
The pencils don't have to be wooden. I have many of those plastic mechanical pencils from the 80s, too.
@greeneyedgirl107 Cool ! I used to have a collection of erasers! Will you ever use the pencils?
@Mellmars1185 Oh no - only a couple are sharpened from the very beginning of my collection!
I collect sneakers and it's so cool! I started doing this when I read on essay about air force. I was very fascinated by them then - that was when I was in college. So at that time I had 4 pairs of forces and I even went to work and studied less to buy more new sneakers. Life in college was wonderful for me and I am very happy to have come across this essay. It even helped me once with examples and so I often turned to this site
@olgaol3 Do you wear your sneakers?? Or do you try not to to keep them in good condition?
I have a few antique (not sure if this is the correct term) books and sheet music (not sure where those are.) The illustrations during the times these books were published were just so pretty and rich, which is why I collected them.
Published in 1883!
The books was full of little stories.
Currier and Ives cloth-bound book- 1953. It was hard to capture the depth of the vibrancy of the illustrations, even as old of a book at this is. I'm sorry the pictures aren't loading correctly.

Robert Louis Stevenson A Child's Garden of Verses- 1929
Moms of boys could probably relate to this poem.
@Ispend2much6 your sheet music and books are so cool! I love, love, love the drawings. I also had to laugh to myself because I used that Robert Louis Stevenson book as part of my daughter’s homeschool curriculum when she was younger. It was a newer edition, of course…but such a great book!
Thank you for sharing all of the photos, I really enjoyed looking through them.
@eshoe They really are special. Nothing like them today. We homeschooled our kids too. We intended to only homeschool them during middle-high school, but but health issues started the process earlier and we never looked back. I think the extra time with our kids made our family closer. And the kids have a very strong sense of who they are. It worked out well for us.
@Ispend2much6 I cannot tell you how much joy this brought me to read. 100% agreed.
@Ispend2much6 I love all those old photos! So cool how artwork has changed so much over the years.
@heartsmyfaceOne of these books used lithographs. It was such an act of love to create these!
