I realized we don't have an OOTD, outfit of the day thread, which isn't needed but can still be a lot of fun.  It's dress up for me, but make it adult.

This was part spurred by my natural hair journey, Tress Trek - A Transition Journal from Relaxer to Natural and NYFW and Zendaya.  99% Zendaya.

The Fit- this can be your attire, or what has arisen from the Capsule Challenge, your makeup bag.  Hair and fragrance "fits" count, too

I had a lot of fun putting together looks inspired by the original film so I've been looking forward to the sequel - acually I've been having, since the inspo dressing continues depending on the weather. For most these looks, it's a mix of high-low styling as far as clothing and accessories go, with the makeup (or face) being more Prada or fashion house based. 

The Devil Wears Prada 2 - inspired OOTD Volume I - The Best Friends Edit 

INSPO - Lily Goodwin and Andy Sachs since the original film. More details below but here's the inspo. My daily makeup has been pared down quite a bit due to allergies - and it's been mainly concealer (usually Prada, Dior or Armani), powder, setting spray and something for the lips the majority of this and last month. Cheek makeup is usually just bronzer to warm up my complexion or contour for a little definition; eye makeup has been pretty much just about the brows. Lips for both looks were Prada.

Not my original plan for a Lily-inspired OOTD but I haven't been able to find a cropped coat I wanted for the look and the day this look was put in place was too humid to be comfortable for jeans.

Fit:

• Off white linen top, Reiss 
• Rust orange linen midi skirt, Reiss (?)
• White 3/4 sleeve denim jacket (maybe by Velvet Heart (?), purchased at a boutique in Portland, OR, a couple years ago), for the cooler mornings
• Pistachio handbag, Longchamps Pillage bag 
• Sneakers, All Saints - for walking to/from bus, muni and my meeting spot
• Raffia heeled sandals, Ann Taylor, to change into for event - I imagine that the Lily character would have a pair of shoes for work (she's an art gallery assistant) that would complement her OOTD and a pair of sneakers for getting to/fro 
• Gold filigree earrings, from same boutique as the jacket but purchased a lot earlier than that - this is a throwback piece, as they are the same pair I wore for my Lily-inspired OOTD based on the first film

Prada lips:

• Prada Hydrating Lip Balm with Jojoba Oil U010 Maple 
• lightly lined HAUS LABS BY LADY GAGA Le Monster Lip Crayon Vegan Lipstick and Lip Liner Mauve Matte

Andy Sachs inspired OOTD

Fit:

• Ivory short-sleeve cashmere sweater
• Charcoal grey midi-length pleated skirt
• Charcoal heather grey blazer, Good American - slightly long/oversized with some tailoring at the waist
• Navy suede pumps (about 2.5 inches), Marion Parke
• Navy crossbody handbag, Strathberry Mosaic bag
• Jewelry (none pictured) but included a pearl necklace - Andy wears a pearl necklace in many of the scenes in the sequel 
• Brown-black rectangular, slightly oversized sunglasses, Prada

Prada lips:

• Prada Hydrating Lip Balm with Jojoba Oil U013 Guava 
• topped with Prada Prada Reflection Glossy Liquid Lip Balm U002 Banana Yellow (it smells like banana candy 🍌🍬)

The finish in the photo has a metallic quality to it that does not come through IRL, it's more of a softly shimmery, milky finish. Color in the photo is pretty reflective of how the combo shows up in real life. 👍 Probably my favorite pink lip shade, to date. Will post a photo to the Lips on Lock 🔐: List Your Lip Combos 💄👄 of this pairing as well as what the Guava balm looks like on its own in the next few days.

AHHHHHHH @itsfi , I'm giddy.

I love that your face is Fashion based. Fashion Fa'sho!  I didn't have a thought/inkling on the Prada Hydrating Lip Balm with Jojoba Oil , now I'm reconsidering 🤔🤣

I love the gold tones of Lily, but the Andy I think is spot on

I feel the same about the weather.  This spring is giving nothing...

Had to try to take the whole fashion theme from head to toe @danielledanielle; I'll take any opportunity to reach for my fashion house beauty items - wear them on a day that ends in "y"? Sure, sounds good!! 🤣 

Yeah, this "spring" 🙄 - I feel like it's forced me into a de facto capsule for makeup and wardrobe - nor even minimal, but bare bones. Deciding what to pack away and what to pull out is a challenge because I'm not altogether sure if spring is coming or going and I don't think it knows it either, lol. Except for when it comes to allergies symptoms - the amount of eye drops and tissue I've gone through is ridiculous! 😅

The Prada lip balms are 👍 and the new Prada Prada Reflection Glossy Liquid Lip Balm, too! Good for hydration and color. The eye shadow palettes are multi-taskers but Prada just needs to come out with a bronzer (maybe brow item as well ) for a full face collection.

The Face....I forget which battle palette this was, and the lip, forgotten too 🥲

The Fit: Save The Duck Trench, Ted Baker Organza Dress and Rag & Bone, Hat is.... BR, I think

The Face: Prada Dimensions Multi-Effect Refillable Eyeshadow Palette 05 PURE but also Sarah Creal Eyes Up 24H Creamy Kajal Longwear Eyeliner Maritime .  THE SARAH CREAL KOOLAID HAS BEEN DRUNK. I'm gonna need more shades of this

The Fit: Old Navy x Devil Wears Prada 😂, Lobo pant and RL blouse...this is my take on that cerulean outfit.

The Face: ??? I dunno, I gotta start taking notes or something 

The Fit: Boss Denim Effect suit + BR floral shirt... YOU ALREADY KNOW plus Old Navy x Devil Wears Prada Miranda Bag.  The trenchcoat is Gap Studio .

The Face: this i remember.  Partly.  This was my favorite look with Uoma Beauty's Freedom Palette from BALETTE ROYALE: Beau- TEA Brackets  Uoma won my Bracket , should probably update that 🥲�

👏👏👏Love the coats @danielledanielle; I don't think a gal (or guy) can have too many trench coats, and my closet proves it! The blue print scarf with the GAP trench is 😍. Is that black-and-white houndstooth scarf from the Rewards Bazaar, the collab wtih Pattern? And, of course, a round of applause for that cerulean sweater!!

@itsfi , I should've tagged you!  No, this isn't the lost pattern one, but I definitely got it because of you.  It's a ThredUp find.  I didn't realize until I got it that the checks aren't black, they're green and blue.... But, that scarf & you were the push/inspo

Will be back to chat more about the Sephoria weekend fits, but lemme just add an FYI about that short and boot OOTD to others stopping on by the therad, that was in 80-90 degree weather outside and through 3+hours of walking to and from one end of the floor to another, and up and down flights of stairs. Props to you @danielledanielle! Every compliment you received on that fit, at Sephoria and elsewhere, was well earned❣️
