Beauty Goals for 2026

missjeanie_0-1767975174274.png

Does anyone have any beauty goals for the new year?  I've been thinking about a few myself and was curious if others were doing the same?

 ✔️Certain brands to try

✔️ New techniques to work on

✔️Threads to follow along with and post about on BIC through the year

✔️Organization

✔️ Decluttering

Personally I'm hoping to

💜Post my empties once a month (I fall behind and end up with months on end to do at once) Empties - V2 and have used up at least 365 items

💜Stick to my Pan It! - 2026 Challenge for the entire year

💜Attend one if not two Beauty Conventions.

💜Shrink my collection by gifting away some unopened product in order to have more space in my organization system.

💜Use up at least 100 of my sheet masks.  They are years out of date at this point and I do not want to go into 2027 with a huge box of them.

💜Find a loose powder I love

💜Pass on any fragrances and body sprays that are not to my liking anymore.

💜Not let myself go so long between haircuts and hair dyes.... The silver is sneaking in more and more!

Re: Beauty Goals for 2026

1. Use blush or bronzer more often.  This is a product that I have shied away from in the past, but I look a lot better when I use it.

2. I have made a plan for my Sephora purchases for 2026 to coincide with the 500 point with $75 purchase offers, the summer hair bag GWPs, and the 3x points multiplier in late summer (which last year overlapped with the second summer hair GWP). Exactly what I will purchase each time will depend on what I manage to use up between now and then, but I am determined to stick to this schedule.

@Mel231 , I am sort of trying to do this with the Loves lists, great strategy!

Re: Beauty Goals for 2026

@Mel231  love your approach of being very strategic with your Sephora purchase schedule! I need to get better about doing that, too.

Re: Beauty Goals for 2026

@Mel231 That sounds very well thought out!  I think I'm going to try and stick to sale only shopping this year.  I should be able to have the will power to wait!

Re: Beauty Goals for 2026

Thanks for the inspo!

My 2026 beauty goals are:

1. Simplify my skincare routine: 1 cleanser, 1 serum or treatment for day and 1 for night, 1 mask, and 1 moisturizer for day and 1 for night.
My current go-to’s are Marcelle Gentle Cleanser for combo skin

#The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% Serum for Oily Skin

The Ordinary Multi-Peptide + Copper Peptides 1% for Wrinkles and Skin Elasticity 1 oz / 30 ml

The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% Exfoliating and Brightening Daily Toner 8 oz/ 240 mL

Glossier Futuredew Facial Oil-Serum Hybrid 1 oz / 30 mL

Lush’s Mask of Magnamity

Murad Multi-Vitamin Clear Coat SPF 50 Sunscreen 1.7 oz

and Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask + Moisturizer 2.25 oz / 64 g

2. Only buy new skincare when I run out- gotta get some room back in the bathroom cupboards!

3. Find my HG day cream (with sunscreen!)

4. Pan at least one of my 3 (years old!) Urban Decay Naked Palettes

5. Develop my technique for the “clean skin” look and try to wear it once a week

6. Have some fun and branch out with lip color. I’ve just bought Sephora Favorites Lucky Pout to try out some new looks

7. Develop slick-back pony tail/bun technique. The fly aways at the nape of my neck keep getting to me!

Re: Beauty Goals for 2026

@rmacks  great list of goals for this year! I'd love to simplify my skincare routine somewhat, as well. The Sephora Favorites sets are a great way to branch out and have fun trying some new things!

Re: Beauty Goals for 2026

Getting back some bathroom cabinet space sounds like a goal a lot of us should have @rmacks !!  Great set of targets for this year!

Re: Beauty Goals for 2026

Oh, I love these goals.  Especially the bun one @rmacks

Re: Beauty Goals for 2026

Permanently blush my cheeks pink. Permanently gloss my lips pink. Permanently tattoo my skin pink.  Get a all pink wardrobe.  Eat and drink nothing but pink. Oh yeah and get a pink car. Oh yeah Permanently pink my eyes out.

Re: Beauty Goals for 2026

@sissyboi72  you really do love pink! I don't think I could ever commit to permanent makeup lol, but I would love a purple car myself 💜

Re: Beauty Goals for 2026

@caitbird Oh man... I had a purple camero when I was in my 20s... such a fun car!

Re: Beauty Goals for 2026

Ha ha ... That's a lot of Pink @sissyboi72 !  Have you thought of doing a car wrap?  I've seen a few in person that are pretty impressive!

Re: Beauty Goals for 2026

Wow @missjeanie that is a great idea.  I like the way you think. Lol.

Re: Beauty Goals for 2026

I was never a full glam girl @miss8, the products may be a bit different but my overall 'look' from 2016 make up wise is still pretty much in use daily lol

Re: Beauty Goals for 2026

@missjeanie , I'm Always Using #CAUTION Instead Of Finding An Excuse To Be Extravagant 😂

Re: Beauty Goals for 2026

Fabulous thread @missjeanie! The big picture goal is to make my collection work for me, as I use what's there and build out or pare down certain areas to better suit me.

Beauty Goals:
  1. Enjoy my beauty collection - both what's currently in it and what I will add to it this year. I want to use the products I have, sooner rather than later (and definitely before they've been around for too long 😬).
  2. Low / No buy until spring. From now until mid-March, with very few exceptions that I've listed on a small post-it note, I'm not planning on purchasing much of anything other than basic necessities and gifts for others. In full disclosure, (a) they are broad stroke exceptions but I don't foresee any of them coming into play, and (b) I have a few purchases in transit so they and my projects should keep me preoccupied.
  3. No buying backups until actually needed. Not even the Gucci mist, unless it is actually being discontinued in which case, I'll be repurposing my oven for extra storage space. 😅

Products to Try (in addition to items I purchased last year but haven't yet had the chance to put to use):
  1. EADEM The Mark Advanced Targeted Dark Spot Concentrate with 5% Tranexamic Acid, 1% Alpha Arbutin & 1% Kojic Acid for Hyperpigmentation, Acne Scars & Age Spots 0.5 oz/15ml
  2. Tatcha The Longevity Youth Restoring Cream for Elasticity & Brightness 1.7 oz/50 ml # - I have samples - and there's a deluxe size promo gwp currently available with a minimum $30 spend
  3. LYS Beauty Bright Start Creamy Buildable Coverage Airbrush Concealer - love the two ways product is dispensed and that the sponge tip can be easily removed for that purpose and for cleaning - brava to LYS for such a smart and practical design! 👏
  4. Armani Beauty Luminous Silk Natural Glow Blurring Liquid Foundation with 24 Hour Wear - will compare it to the original version but I first want to use up at least two (2) bottles/tubes of foundations that are already open/partially used (see below 👇)
  5. Other Elorea fragrances
  6. Other IOPE skincare products

Brands to Try:
  1. Allies of Skin
  2. BORNTOSTANDOUT
  3. Skinmedica, and in particular the serum @curlychiquita has used / is using

Beauty Projects 2026

1.  Contouring - it's one of those things that seem to forever be on my "to do" list. I spent more time on nose contouring last year with mixed results. Have been working more on that this year, along with just contouring in general. Starting off with cream products already in my collection. Follow up on this will be made at a later date to, among other threads, the face-mapping post on the🏫🎓BIC University 🎓🏫 thread.

2. Use up the following already open, partially used beauty products -
  • skin tints / foundations - Tower 28 SunnyDays Tinted Sunscreen Foundation (2 tubes) + Tom Ford Foundation (2 shades) + Urban Decay Bond Foundation + Sephora Collection Reveal the Real Foundation - I'l use the capsule makeup challenge and the seasonal Shop Your Stash challenges to work on rotating through these items throughout the year. The Tower 28 and Tom Ford ones have less than 1/4 of the container left. Shout out to @blackkitty2014 for inspiring me with her use (and completion) of her Tom Ford items, including TF foundations.
  • LANEIGE Lip Sleeping Mask – Intense Hydration Lip Treatment with Vitamin C Vanilla - part of the Pan It! - 2026 Challenge - if I keep consistent with my usage, I should be able to get through this by the end of the year.
3. Work on / get better with my photography 📷

4. Significantly pare down a few makeup products in my collection; primarily, my lip collection (all lip categories - liners, lipsticks, lip glosses, oils, even lip balms, but we'll work on the balms last 😂); face primers; setting sprays; and blush. Will declutter items as I use them in my weekly capsules (or as I go through rounds of decluttering throughout the year) and I plan to use threads such as the Beauty Challenge -- Twelve Months of Beauty Inventory and Beauty Product Battles, Throw Downs and Showdowns to help move this particular project along when I get stuck or distracted. I'll pass along what I can to a local womens' shelter or not-for-profit, or re-home to friends, family or coworkers who will get better use and enjoyment out of them. Anything that isn't in a conditon to be passed along will be tossed if I'm unable to repurpose it in a meaningful way.

5. Look into retinol products - it may be time to give this another try. We shall see. It'll be a slow onboarding if I decide to go for it at all. I've been doing some research on my own and talking with licensed professionals who know far more about retinol and similar and derivative ingredients than I. But I know my skin and my risk and my skin's tolerance so that's where my expertise comes in. 😉

6. Find for replacements for products that are no longer available:
  • Pencil / gel liner for waterline (to replace the discontinued Makeup by Mario Master Mattes Brightening Pencil  - Light 1)
  • Liquid eye liner - I have two liquid liners that I'm be happy with but will continue to see if I can find something that performs better / closer to the discontinued Dollywink Liquid Eyeliner - Super Black)
  • Under eye gel patches (to replace Sephora Collection Caffeine Eye Mask) - I've been blessed to have received many of these as gifts from friends ❤️ before they completely sold out so I can take my time to find the right replacement but this is one that's been on the "to do" list for a while.

Re: Beauty Goals for 2026

@itsfi Have you tried your samples? 1000% recommend the Tatcha Longevity Cream

Re: Beauty Goals for 2026

@itsfi  I love your goals, and how organized and thoughtful you are about them! It seems a number of folks are trying to stick to a low buy this season - great minds think alike it seems! I also hope to improve my contouring + photography skills 😅

Re: Beauty Goals for 2026

@itsfi I'm loving how organized you are!  If the Gucci Brume de Beauté Beauty Mist 2.7 oz / 80 mL gets discontinued I'll help you fill that oven!  I'm very curious about your thoughts on the new Eadem dark spot treatment.  I have a few that I've been thinking of getting lasered off and could benefit from a good treatment. But please... if you do a lip balm declutter... I think you should photograph the collection for us first!

Re: Beauty Goals for 2026

Awww, thank you @missjeanie! There will be sobs coming from over here if that mist gets DQ'ed; it's been such a staple in my rotation.

lol, goals, targets ... I like having some structure, if anything, for something to come back to, if needed, when things go sideways or I get distracted by other things. I'll let you know about the Eadem; my initial 14-day trial of their serum was a hit and it makes me very curious to see how this new release will perform. Stay tuned.

Making a note on the photo op with the lip balms. 🗒 I'm in a reorg/declutter mindset when it comes to my lip products so I need to capitalize on that - it's rare that I want to even go there when it comes to my lip stash. With the balms, I'm pretty sure I need to do a very thorough sweep of my handbags, gym bags, makeup bags, any sort of bag 🙄 as well as drawers in the house and any and every article of clothing that has pockets 🤣 to see that I've collected all of them. The number of times I've found myself saying "oh, that's where this has been ..." I thought I had cleared the deck of all covid/pre-covid lip balms when I polished off the bulk of my sheet masks a few years back, but I found a couple of Rhode lip balms from when she first launched them. Okay, maybe more than a few, lol. 😬  Beauty Challenge -- Twelve Months of Beauty Inventory has lip balms scheduled for October so that's in my favor (thank you @haleyvvvv 😂 I'm gonna need tiiiiime for that category)
