Does anyone have any beauty goals for the new year? I've been thinking about a few myself and was curious if others were doing the same?
✔️Certain brands to try
✔️ New techniques to work on
✔️Threads to follow along with and post about on BIC through the year
✔️Organization
✔️ Decluttering
Personally I'm hoping to
💜Post my empties once a month (I fall behind and end up with months on end to do at once) Empties - V2 and have used up at least 365 items
💜Stick to my Pan It! - 2026 Challenge for the entire year
💜Attend one if not two Beauty Conventions.
💜Shrink my collection by gifting away some unopened product in order to have more space in my organization system.
💜Use up at least 100 of my sheet masks. They are years out of date at this point and I do not want to go into 2027 with a huge box of them.
💜Find a loose powder I love
💜Pass on any fragrances and body sprays that are not to my liking anymore.
💜Not let myself go so long between haircuts and hair dyes.... The silver is sneaking in more and more!
@PDXXXX Youve been doing such a great job on the Beauty Challenge -- Twelve Months of Beauty Inventory thread at culling items you aren't in love with!
You also hit the nail on the head with "falling for shiny objects" comment.... I think this is something a lot of us here do!
Setting the intention here helped! I'm glad you started the year off with this @missjeanie .
@PDXXXX @I’m glad it’s helping out! It really started with trying to hold my self accountable. If I tell others about it, I feel like I need to make more effort!
You can't ever be late with resolutions @PDXXXX. I have been trying to get going on that Act+Acre hair serum. I feel like if I can just get myself on a good cadence or schedule I should be good, but the problem is that I can't seem to get started ... sigh. You've used it before? How often did you use it or would be ideal for you?
@itsfi initially I was using it nightly every night before going to bed (one dropper on each side of the scalp and then massaging into my scalp and through my hair with the SEPHORA COLLECTION Silicone Scalp Massager Blue ) and even my hairstylist couldn't believe how much new growth I was getting. I simply fell off the wagon and need to get it back into my routine. It's the only scalp serum I've tried other than a couple by Davines in the past. I'm definitely sold on it and would recommend - I have fairly fine hair and using it nightly doesn't result in any next day residue, greasiness or necessitate washing my hair any more often. And, once you're in the habit the scalp massage element of it is a nice, calming end of the day self care ritual on it's own.
That says something if your hairstylist mentions it. Nice!! Oh, hair massagers are fabulous! I've been pleased with my BREAD BEAUTY SUPPLY Scalp-Thingy: Scalp Massager @PDXXXX. I'll have to try to get the Act + Acre serum into a routine; I've seen great result from OUAI Hydrating Scalp Serum for Healthy, Fuller Looking Hair 2 oz / 60 mL in the past; just need to put that Act + Acre to use.
I'll be curious if you trial the Act + Acre for awhile how it compares to the OUAI. I hope you'll throw your thoughts our way if you do! There's so many great scalp serums on the market now it's hard to keep up (or not buy new ones before you've given each long enough to see the results, lol).
My goals:
@BrushWithFate I love that you're embracing what you have! Do you have a favourite hair treatment so far?
Yes I do
dae Once Upon a Wash Dae Hair Gift Set
dae Mini Signature Shampoo 3oz/ 90mL
Olaplex No. 4C Bond Maintenance™ Deep Clean Clarifying Shampoo 8.5 oz / 250 mL
amika Perk Up Plus Extended Clean Dry Shampoo 5.3 oz / 200 mL
Briogeo Superfoods Mango + Cherry Oil Control & Balancing Shampoo 12.5 oz/ 369 mL
Virtue Restorative, Hydrating Treatment Hair Mask with Keratin 5 oz/ 148 mL
My beauty goals:
1. Being more polished in my choices - spending in general and with products too. Like with body care and perfumes, going with quality over quantity. I skipped some sales last year and this year even though I really wanted to buy some things. Saving the money to spend on better quality things, some bougie, some savvy savings but better bang for the buck imho.
2. Use more of my makeup - giving some major side eye to my lipstick, highlighter and blush stashes. I'm good on foundations, eye makeup, and bronzers but those things just have a way of piling up, never down, and they're like all in the same colors too, but I like reach for the same 2 or 3 in the each of those categories.
3. Declutter more - I feel like I do this a lot at the end of the year and it's usually rushed. Would like there to be some method to my madness.
4. I waffle over things like eye lash extensions, laser hair removal and that Qure micro-infusion system that floods my feed lately all the time. I think I want to try one or two of those things.
I (and likely a lot of us) relate to so many of your goals. Especially the better bang for the buck. I actually wanted to start up a convo about this that's in vein of the daily deals thread, but aimed towards spending habits... I was thinking of how some prefer to shop sales only vs multipliers. I think we all do this, just might be interesting to do a think tank about it @leslee1206
The other thing that's helped me is that I review my purchase history to catch specific deals
@danielledanielle @leslee1206 I'd love to see a thread on this. What are people doing to maximize their dollars? Is it cutting back, is it project panning, is it shopping only certain seasons or sales?
@leslee1206 I can't speak to lash extensions, but I had laser hair removal done about a decade ago at least, and I LOVE not having to shave! It took more sessions than advertised, but it worked!
I also have quite the lip product stash that's giving side eye... good luck with yours!!
beauty goals
Any recomendations would be great (:
If you want to work on contour and blush you neeeed to join @danielledanielle 's Cheek Challenges - they are the best! You can check out the current one at Re: Cheek Challenge Winter 2026: I'm Ready For My Glow Up, Mr. DeVille. Super fun and I learn so much from everyone there.
🙏🏽 @PDXXXX
@BrushWithFate , feel free to join in anytime... Even if it's just asking a question, we love a good workshop sesh
