Foundation looks great 3-4 ft away, horrible, cakey, and flakey close up.
Is foundation supposed to look "flawless" close up?  I use a pressed powder foundation from MAC, as with liquid (such as tarte Amazonian clay) I begin to get oily.  I've applied with both brushes and the beauty blender.  Somehow, it looks *great* at a distance, but when I lean in to look closer at the mirror, like when I'm applying eyeliner, it looks horrible.  Usually I wouldn't mind, but when I'm talking to people, I wonder whether they're at a distance to see the calmness of my makeup.   I can't imagine that I'm "applying it wrong".  I literally take the beauty blender, swirl it around in the compact, and press it into my face.  And this is after using the green smashbox photo finish primer.   Oh - and I've also tried RCMA.  FORGET IT!  That stuff is even worse!  My whole face is tiny little flakes in no time.   Thanks.

Clarisonic Mia Wreaked Havoc On My Skin
So I bought the Mia during Ulta's 21 Days of Beauty. I've been blessed with having pretty amazing skin, but since I'm turning 30 this year have tried to step up my skincare game and had read rave reviews about all things Clarisonic, so I decided to take advantage of the great deal.   To make a long story short, after using it everyday, after 6 weeks my skin was still "purging" and I had developed what best be described as cystic acne (along my cheek bones, chin and forehead). I spoke with the skin care specialist at my local Sephora who advised that the purge period should have been over and that I should perhaps return the Clarisonic.   I returned it about over a month ago, and returned to my old skin care regime, but the cystic acne won't go away. It's like I now have permanent bumps all along my cheek bones and as someone who used to be able to go foundation free 90% of the time, I truly do not know what to do.   Has anyone else experienced this? I'd love any/all advice on how to best treat this!

Hair
I have naturally straight, somewhat thick, shoulder-length hair. It is impossible for it to hold a curl. Also, my hair does not have a lot of body. Is there a product that could help give my hair body and help hold curls? I just want to do all of the cute wavy hairstyles that are in style these days.

Now that summer is fast approaching, what do you change about your skincare/makeup routine?
Hello lovelies,   I'm curious about this. I do change my skincare and makeup routines.   I do way less face oils in the summer since my skin gets super oily when it's hot. So maybe Josie Maran Aragan Oil a few times a week in the evening instead of every night the rest of the year.   I also depend way more on on BB cream (I love Maybelline Dream Finish BB Cream) and my NARS Concealer Stick for daily coverage. I also don't opt so much for a full face of makeup during the work week. I definitely still do mascara, liner, blush, but I do more lip glosses than lipsticks. But I still love my bright lip colors. If I do eye shadow, it's maybe one neutral color.   Of course, if I'm going out in the evening, it's full everything!   What about you?

Just had custom makeover - Really want to love my new Hourglass products
I've been using bare minerals for years and decided I need something with more coverage. I just recently had a custom makeover and I LOVED how the sephora makeup artist did my makeup - my skin looked flawless and airbrushed! I have combination oily skin with large pores on my nose and a few dark spots from acne. I purchased all of the products she used on me - hourglass mineral veil primer, hourglass foundation and brush, hourglass ambient light bronzer and nars creamy concealer among a few other things.....   I CANNOT redo my makeup the same way!! It settles in my pores immediately, and my face basically becomes an oil slick by lunchtime, especially my nose and forehead! What am I doing wrong? I'm so upset bc I love how she did my makeup and these hourglass products are not cheap! I really want to love everything I just bought!    Help!! Thanks all!

Shampoo and Conditioner Recommendation? Oily Hair
I would be great if anyone can help.  I have hair to the middle of my back; I am 5"6.  or Longer..  I think I sat on it the other day..  Due to the length, I only wash it twice a week at most since it takes about a whole twelve hours to air dry.  Blow drying this is Ridiculous!  Besides it being long it is also very thick and heavy.  My scalp and hair to my ears is always extremely oily and very Flat due to a combo of the above mentioned factors.

Dior SkinFlash Pen Empty?
Hi!   Can't find an answer to this in the product's Q&A so I thought I should ask here:  When the Dior SkinFlash Radiance Booster Pen is empty, does it stop clicking or does it simply not dispense anymore product?  I read at least one review saying their pen wouldn't dispense product unless they kept the applicator clean by washing it regularly.  I wish I could see how much product was still in the pen.     Thanks for any help!

Foundation for prom??
Hello everyone   My senior prom is on Friday, and I need a photo friendly foundation to wear. (Im terrified of having a white cast in photos...)I'd prefer to stay away from matte foundations and go more for dewy since I wanna look glowy lol and plus, I have dry skin. I'd also need medium to full coverage, because I have dark marks from acne.   Any suggestions? I'm thinking about asking for samples just for prom because I don't have the money to spend on foundation right now. Thank you!    P.s. if you guys have any dewy makeup routine tips, let me know please

Diorshow - New Formula Review
Hello BT!     Disclosure:   I was very lucky to have received a gift a little while ago from Sephora and Dior to try the new, reformulated Diorshow mascara. Here is my review below!   There was a great review from annec322 recently, too, and some others.  We had a death in the family  that took some time and prevented me from posting sooner, so I know this is bit like old news. However, the extended time before posting the review has given me a chance to use it daily and so I probably have more to say than if I'd used it just once or twice.  This was a VIBR exclusive online but now appears to be available to all for purchase.  The last time I used Diorshow, it was actually a blue, that I used primarily on the tips of my eyelashes. Anyway, on to my experience with the new Diorshow in 090 Black. Here is the package, the one I got has the traditional box (on the left) with a sleeve on the outside to show results and the new packaging, which claims (from Sephora website): "The patented Air-Lock™ wiper prevents the formula from being in contact with the air, keeping the mascara from drying in the tube, thereby allowing for fresh application day after day."       I really love the huge, full brush.  My typical favorites are traditionally mascaras like Urban Decay Perversion, Marc Jacobs Omega, etc. so a big difference I noticed right away is that the Diorshow is not as "wet" a formula as those are.  However, that doesn't diminish it's performance.  I really liked it and here are the top reasons why (because I like lists):  1. I found it to be extremely clump-free and smooth to apply, even multiple coats 2. It is lengthening and volumizing and one coat is plenty, but two gives even a bit more volume 3. The tapered tip allows you to reach the inner and outer corner lashes easily 4.  It wears all day on me (no primer was used) with absolutely no smudging or flaking whatsoever.   I often get some flaking from other formulas but just thought that was normal! 5.  It removes easily with any face washes I've tried, without any special removers, and without having to pull or tug at all.  I didn't realize how nice this was until I realized my bath towel doesn't get covered with black smudges.   I have some pics below of me with no mascara, with one coat of Diorshow and then with two coats of Diorshow.  Not too much difference is obvious in the pictures between one and two coats. Just for reference, I don't ever curl my lashes and in these pictures, wearing no lash primer. As has been mentioned before, it does have a floral scent to it, but for me, it's not a bother and I only smelled it in the tube/wand - no smell at all once on my eyes.   Please ignore my messy hair!  Looking back, I should have done something with it, though I kept my makeup minimum so you could see my lashes a little better.  I also probably should have tried a different angle because my eyes are so hooded, but I wanted to get this posted.     Anyway, thanks for reading, and thanks to Dior and Sephora for letting me try this!  Although I received this one for free, I would definitely purchase on my own in the future based on how well it performed.     No Mascara:    One Coat New Diorshow Mascara:    2 Coats New Diorshow Mascara:

Father's Day Gift Ideas
Hi all,   I had no idea where to post this so I did it under the category of "Products".   I am having a hard time figuring out what to get my hubby for Father's Day.  It is of course a gift from myself and my son who is 23 months.    I have had ideas like a monogram/personalized wallet, personalized pillow, men's body wash or some kind of skin product.  But I am so undecided because my hubby is SO picky.  So I usually have a hard time getting him something that he would actually like.  lol.   Last year I got him a picture frame which he loved.  Now this year, I just have no idea.  I thought of getting something from Lush Cosmetics because I heard their stuff is amazing.  Only issue is that I am not sure how it smells as I have never been in their store and when you order online and need to return, you cannot return in store, you have to return back to the company or whatever and you have to pay for shipping.  I saw some stuff on Sephora as well for men, but undecided on things for that too. lol   I need A LOT of help on this...any suggestions on ideas or gift packages or something...anything? lol.

Q. What is the best night eye cream for late 20s?
Hi all,   I have a pretty intense skin regimen which I love, but I am looking for a new under eye night cream.   This is what I put on my face in the AM:   Origins Oil-Free face wash Korres Pomegranate toner Fresh Youth Preserve face cream Fresh Youth Preserve eye cream The Balm tinted moisturizer with spf   PM: Origins Antioxidant face wash Clarins Multi-Active Night Youth Recovery face cream   I used a sample of the Algenist eye balm, but I didn't love it.  Now I am using a sample of the Clarins Total Restorative concentrate, but I think it is for more mature skin and don't want to damage to the skin I have.   I have darkness under my eyes, so I use a Caudelie Glycolic peel once or twice a week.  I also try to use my Origins charcoal mask once or twice a week as well, The Balm TimeBalm Blueberry Mask, or the Nude Foaming exfoliator.    I drink about a gallon (or more) of water each day and keep my alcohol limited.   Thanks for your help, beauties! Toddlers and Makeup
My 3 year old son is fascinated by makeup. He will literally sit and watch me get ready for work, he loves the colors, and he likes how soft the brushes are.  I love taking him into Sephora with me, he loves to swatch colors on our hands. You best believe that we go straight to the MUFE tester pans. He's very good about it. Not messy, but entranced by makeup. I've also had some women make some hateful comments directed toward myself, and I'm sure they say something about my son, but if I heard it, I wouldn't be here to talk to all you lovelies!   My question is, has anyone had a good/bad experience taking their toddler with them? Do your children like to put makeup on you?
