I was about to make a post and share with everyone but it sold out in seconds! I panicked at the price and just snagged one without thinking. $23 for a $700 dress??! What?!?!? As you can see, the dress is still being sold on Neiman Marcus for the full price. If anyone wants an invite to Rue, send me a PM. You cannot afford to miss these deals.
Hey girls, So I been using the Bite line & define lip primer/liner and honestly, I ain't too pleased with it. I use a lot of Revlon Super Lustrous lipsticks and they don't seem to adhere to the primer at all. It usually goes on my teeth or smudges big time and I have to keep re-applying. Is there not a way to make the lipstick stick and stay longer ?. I also find with eating it's gone quickly too. I've done the whole lip liner filling in lips trick too it's not working for me either.
So this post is just giving random ideas of things that BT could do to upgrade the forums a bit. * Having ability to access the forum via mobile phone or app for the site * Having ability to delete your own post within someone's post or deleting your main post without having to get mods to do it * Having ability to close your account or deactivate it should you wish to take a break or leave the site, without it affecting your Beauty Insider account * Having ability to remove inappropriate posts from your own main post Anyone else have ideas, it'd be nice if we had a bit more options on hand, and I am not trying to knock how the site is, just suggestions is all.
I'm 26 and I need a new undereye concealer. I have genetic dark circles and I'm starting to notice some fine lines. The concealer I use currently (a drugstore brand when I ran out of my mac) settles into the lines and magnifies them, not cool! My eyes are a little oily, when I add it to my upper lids it also creates lines that I have to smudge out mid-day. I need something hydrating but not too oily, possibly something that fills lines or at least blurs them.
If so, no wonder I'm not get as good color payoff as everyone else. I usually apply the primer first thing along with my facial moisturizer (gee, maybe I'm doing that wrong as well), dry my hair, do face makeup, then eyes. I just read an article that said to apply eye shadow while the primer is fresh. What's fresh? wet? slightly tacky? TIA!
I am trying to reorder Make Up For Ever and can not find the color type on my current bottle. The botton has the numbers #1 TC31A but when I enter that in the search I get no results. Can anyone help me identify my color so I can reorder?
It's been a rough holiday season thus far. A friend of the family passed away just before Thanksgiving and this week my best friend's dad also passed away. I have been trying my best to be there for all the people in my life, but sometimes I just want to be alone, cry, and watch sappy Christmas movies. So how do you deal with feeling down when it's supposed to be a happy time of year? Do you become a shopaholic, workout, write, read, something else? I have tried all of the above and I am still out of sorts. I'm afraid the family meal will taste extra salty this Noche Buena (Christmas Eve) because I'll be crying into all the food... Thanks for listening, and I really do appreciate any suggestions on how to deal with so much sadness during the most cheerful season of the year :-I
So earlier today I bought a new Clinique CC cream on the website because they were giving away 3 minis and I thought, what the heck, I can always use more CC cream! And I've been dying to try the Black Honey lipstick. BUT JUST NOW I noticed Lord and Taylor is doing a big GWP with a $30 purchase and I was like nooooooo I could have just bought it from them instead! So I filled up my little cart with about $45 worth of stuff and then went to check out and...THEY WANTED TO CHARGE ME $7.95 FOR SHIPPING. The outrage! The humanity! I could kind of justify spending $45 to get a bunch of stuff I don't really need but somehow when it came to $52.95 I found myself backing away. I think it was the paying for shipping that got me off the ledge - I just can't do it any more. Most companies have some sort of free shipping threshold and I always try to reach it, but Lord and Taylor's shipping costs actually increase with the MORE you spend. I ended up saying to myself, "I don't reallllllly need any of this stuff. Even if that free lipstick in the gwp is really nice looking. And the case is totes cute. But I don't need it!" At least not enough to pay $8 to ship. Unfortunately (or fortunately) there aren't any stores near me so I can't run down there and buy it either. Do you remember the last time you actually paid for shipping for cosmetics? Does it bother you the way it irrationally bugs me?
im pretty happy I had to share my lips real quick.. well I've have pretty chapped lips. The slightest saliva for example a simple kiss from my boyfriend can cause my lips to get irritated and dry. I feel mean because I refuse his kisses sometimes because of this issue hahaa. But! I have seen improvement the past 3days! I've been drinking as I can take haha. I always have a 1bottle at hand When rushing around. And my SPF Chapstick morning and night water really help the most. It was my fault the most for not drinking enough water. I still feel a little dry in the inner part of my lip but I exfoliate and apply chap stick a little. side note: I had my eye brows threaded and the lady mis understood me. I wanted my eyebrows with no arch added because my brows look arched by them self and I wanted a more softer look. She made the look arched and took a lot of hair from under my brow ugh. What can a gal do to soften my brows? I feel sharp and mean haha.. I love soft curved brows but don't know how to achieve them.
Hello ladies (and gents!) I'm in the market for a new foundation. I have been using Diorskin Nude, and I have no qualms with it, but I do think I could do better. I decided to go outside of the realm of Sephora purely for research purposes, and now I'm at a crossroads. Here are the two I'm interested in/curious about: Guerlain Parure de Lumière Armani Luminous Silk I'm very fair, and I'm looking for a light-medium coverage foundation that isn't too fluid and isn't liquid-to-powder (like HG Immaculate). I want it to do the job, so I don't want "invisible" foundation that just melts into my face without a trace, but I don't want it to be very heavy or cakey. If it smells nice, that's a plus! Feel free to recommend others as well. Sorry for the lengthy post (and my being so picky!) Any guidance would be much appreciated!
Hi, so I went into Sephora to pick up the Sephora beauty oils kit, the big tarte set in the purple bag, and the 22 formula x polishes. I wanted to get some samples like how we do online, so I asked the sales associate if they made in store samples and if she could recommend some for me to try. She pretty much said she doesn't have any recommendations. Then I explained that I don't know of any products I wanted to try and I usually buy products based of trying samples. She said I should just look around and pick stuff myself. SOOO I decided to turn to BT. What samples have you guys got and loved that can be made in store?
I noticed that both palettes are not only out of stock online, they are not sold online at Sephora anymore. Does anyone know why? Since they're not listed online, I can't check their in store availability which is annoying. Thanks!
Hey everyone! I have SUPER oily skin and in desperate need of new cleansing and makeup system. Currently I use St. Ives apricot scrub and apply sephora acne-fighting mattifying moisturizer in the morning and at night. I then use sephora silicone free foundation primer. a tiny bit of concealer where i need it and then my makeup forever mat velvet + mattifying foundation with the beauty blender and finish it off with fx illuminating setting powder. usually about 2 after applying my makeup I can feel the oil building up on my skin and have to start blotting but then about 2 hours later I am doing the same thing over again. Even getting the blotting down to once a day is better than doing it every 2 hours. I have tried looking for new products but there are just so many out there I have no idea where to start. any suggestions would be wicked great thank you!!
I just felt like I needed to share my sadness with folks who might understand the ridiculousness of this and not try to commit me. Yesterday, the Ariel storybook palette popped up in the sale section (it's still there breaking my heart), but it was OOS by the time I got to it. Randomly, I clicked on the "check local stores" button, and the website claims that my local SiJCP had it in stock. HOORAY! Except that a call this morning yielded nothing. The website lies because this SiJCP had never carried the Disney-Sephora line so there was no way for them to have any leftovers to sell me. The gal was nice enough to give me the phone number of the stand-alone Sephora, but of course, that yielded nothing because I've been on the call list there ever since that palette came and sold out. Yes, it's a first world problem. I'm trying to talk myself out of the disappointment because I do know I'm being ridiculous. But I can't!! I have all three mirrors, and I have the other two storylook palettes. I'm just missing this one. This glaring one. JUST ONE! I'm thinking of going on eBay. Someone please talk me off the ledge. Please!
Hello, Earlier in the week, a Beauty Insider, Mia, helped me combined my two accounts (email/online and physical BI card), however when that happened I had to build my account from the start again and I lost contact with her due to getting a new account. Now with the two accounts combined, she told me I was 23 points away from reaching VIB status, and to let her know whenever I spent my remaining points before 12/31 so she could upgrade my status. I've recently purchased a few items at Sephora, surpassing 23 points; I would really appreciate it if you can upgrade my status to VIB. Thank you!
As 2013 comes to a close, I'm looking at the 20 pounds I've gained since moving to the big city, and I'm not happy about it. Since I'm also getting my tonsils out on Monday, and my darling boyfriend is giving me a juicer for Christmas, I need some recipes! Are there any you love/swear by? One of the clients at the salon I work at mentioned getting your tonsils out can be a decent way to lose weight, mostly because you can't eat anything! (I'm not getting the surgery for weight loss, I had antibiotic resistant strep complete with abscesses so they HAVE to come out.) Also, any suggestions for a 2 week couch surfing adventure?
Do not purchase anything from b2bitems on ebay! Some of the older members may remember, I posted a picture of my makeup case (Acrylic) that my husband bought me for an anniversary present. Well 4 months after it arrived, it cracked. I took pictures of the item and sent it to the seller and they told me to send it to them and they would replace the base (I took the drawers out and sent the base to them. I asked them if there was anything I needed to do (include an invoice, anything). they said just send the case. Well I contacted them a few days after I saw that it had arrived at their warehouse. They sent me a few pictures and said that USPS cracked it in 4 places and that USPS will have to reimburse me and then I can place another order for another case. and that I should have sent it in two boxes (like it had originally been shipped to me with bubble wrap) They never made that clear and I had even asked them what I needed to do. WTheck!! What scammers! I had asked them what they wanted me to do- they never said to package it in two boxes and wrap it in bubble wrap (I packed it in one box with bubble wrap). I should have known something was wrong from the beginning when they kept blaming me that the case broke and said I used cleaning products on it (which I absolutely did NOT do and I made that crystal clear to them). They just kept responding that I must have. Now they offer to send me back my completely smashed case. that's it. how do I know they didn't smash it in their warehouse? Lesson: DO NOT BUY FROM b2bitems on ebay If you are looking for a large acrylic case DO NOT buy from b2bitems. they are dishonest.
I heard from a Sephora skincare expert that Boscia is expanding their Tsubaki line. Came home and noticed a couple new products on the website... http://www.sephora.com/tsubaki-cleansing-oil-gel-P 384108?skuId=1565118 http://www.sephora.com/tsubaki-deep-hydration-slee ping-mask-P384109?skuId=1565126
After years of looking at it, I finally purchased the clarisonic mia 2 this holiday. However, unlike other users where they see magical right after one use, my skin turn worse. I already have soft smooth skin but you know I still want my skin to be better that's why I brought it. However, it has been a month and a half now and my skin isn't looking better. At first I start having these bump on my cheek but there are no acne or pimples in it. Now I having these huge cyst or pimples all over my forehead. What should I do. I don't want to return it because I want the clarisonic all these years :-( but I really scare if I keep using it my skin just getting worse and worse. What should I do? Should I return it?
Dear Ladies, If you saw my last post (it was deleted) I just want to apologize and thank you all for being concerned. I totally forgot this isn't like the instagram boutique community and we all don't have proof although I'd trust most of you because I highly doubt many perverts lurk on here lol. I shouldn't of made that post and should've just asked the people on the instagram btq's that do it from time to time. It wasn't against my parents wishes & someone with a beauty boutique instagram (with proof) is helping me and used her card to purchase it. thanks for caring! xoxo, kelly
I was in a Sephora today and spotted this gorgeous jar! It's a new hydrating mask from our beloved GlamGlow. And the smell? OMG it's heaven. I just looked it up and it is releasing in January. Maybe the store I was at was overzealous with their shipment?
Beauty Choice dot com has GLAMGLOW Tingling & Exfoliating Mud Mask Tube .5 oz TWO for $9.95!!! That size is normally $19.95 each. I apologize ahead of time for the enabling and those on no-buy. http://www.sephora.com/youthmud-tinglexfoliate-tre atment-P375741?skuId=1463801
Im learning how to contour and i have light skin. Im a light sand in the TARTE foundation and on a makeup contouring video it said go several shades darker than your base foundation. What shade would you recommend without making me look orange?
I went to my local Sephora today and one of the girls told me that after the holidays all of the Lorac products will be on sale. They're not going to carry the line any longer I went home and checked online (with fingers crossed) to see if perhaps it would just be my local Sephora losing the line, unfortunately they barely have anything online! I'm so sad right now!! Why Sephora, why????
