I received an email from QVC the other day that said Kat Von D makeup will be launching on their network on September 21, 2015. It will be an hour show from 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm CST (3:00 pm PST, 4:00 pm MST, and 6:00 pm EST). For those of you who have never shopped with QVC before, they often offer exclusive products in each beauty line they offer. I buy Tarte products from both Sephora and QVC, and QVC: (a) offers exclusive Tarte products available nowhere else, including holiday kits and palettes (there is a QVC exclusive Tarte eyeshadow palette with brush available on QVC's website now) (b) often packages products to provide a better value (i.e. will include a brush with foundation and palettes, will sell a set of three lipsticks for the price of two, and will offer super sizes of popular products for the price of a regular size), and (c) launches beauty products and maintains exclusivity rights for a period of time (such as Tarte's Rainforest of the Sea Water foundation coming out this month). I know at this point it sounds like I work for QVC, but I promise I do not, I'm just excited about the potential of obtaining exclusive Kat Von D products, having her products packaged to offer a better value, and seeing Kat present her products and any tips or hints she might provide. I would be remiss if I did not mention the drawbacks of shopping at QVC - shipping is expensive ($3.00 for each product, not each order) and it seems slow. Sephora has me spoiled with free 2 day shipping, and that is why I will continue to split my beauty purchases between Sephora and QVC. :-)
I recently went to Sephora to get color matched for the Esteé Lauder double wear foundation and I was told I am Bronze 5w1 but I couldn't find it on Sephora's IQ page to see what shade I am in other brands. Can someone help me find that shade in other brands? Thanks! x
Hello, I have a weird skin type. It's definitely more on the oily side , but in the oily parts my skin is flakey ..? Not sure why this is. I have large pores and tend to breakout. I exfoliate, moisturize, prime, set... And my makeup still looks like crap.. Within 2 hours. The oil starts to separate the makeup , while ithe makeup is still clinging to the flakes? It looks terrible. I have tried brushes , besuty blender etc.. Anyone else have the same skin type as me? It's so frustrating! What are the best products for it ? Also any good products or tips for dry thick hair ? Please help!! Thanks primers ive used : smashbox , benefit, urban decay, makeup forever skin care I'm currently using : gentle cleanser by neutoragena, alcohol free gentle toner by neutoragena, and clean and clear oil free moisturizer . And garnier black head scrub exfoliater current foundation: Mac Pro long wear , and SEPHORA brand setting powder
I'm using Laura Merciers oil free tinted moisturizer in ochre, but it is a little too dark now that I have lost a bit of my summer tan. My foundation ID is neutral yellow and I'm looking for Laura Merciers oil free tinted moisturizer that would work for my skin tone that is just a bit lighter. Any suggestions?
I decided to do swatches and dupes of the Melt Cosmetics Lovesick and Dark Matter stacks for those who are contemplating purchasing them. These are the closest dupes I could find in my collection. I hope this helps. (Dupe is on the left, Melt on the right except for Promiscuous which is reversed) Promiscuous- a violet blue duochrome. Blue comes out over a black base. Dupe: MUG Caitlin Rose. Caitlin Rose doesn't have the blue duochrome, is lighter and has a foiled finish. Fixated- a matte blue-gray Dupe: LORAC Gray eyeshadow (Mega Pro palette). A few shades lighter and not as blue. Amelie- a gold-peach duochrome. Dupe: ABH China Rose. China Rose is a few shades darker and the duochrome isn't as strong. Lovesick- a matte wine burgundy. Dupes: MUG Bitten and Marsala Matte from the COTY palette. These are a few shades lighter and are less pigmented. Blurr: a matte light peach Dupe: LORAC Camel (Mega Pro palette). A shade or two darker and leans more yellow. Unseen: a matte medium brown Dupe: ABH Caramel. Exactly the same as Unseen. Enigma- a matte rust brown Dupe: Hot Chocolate from the COTY palette. A few shades darker. Not as rusty. Dark Matter- a matte black. Leans a bit gray. Dupe: ABH Noir- Noir black. My favorite black eyeshadow.
I recently made an appointment to get my make up done and I was just wondering if the people that do your make up are certified? And i mean really certified like they are at Mac, i know it is tough to get a job there. I see a lot of mixed answers and just want to be sure. I love the variety at Sephora but do not know much about the ppl that actually work there. I am getting my make up done for my 21st birthday and don't want to be disappointed. THANK YOU!
Hi! My skin turned flaky and looks "old" after make over in sephora. She used nars under eyes, than givenchy make up, then laure mercier brightening powder and then spray to hold make up. After 15 minutes I looked at the mirror and my skin under eyes turned flaky lizard-like. Why? By myself I usually use only lancome visionary primer and then make up. I'm 27 years old so my skin naturally doesn't look flaky. I did exfoliating with clarins just before I went for make up and then used lamcome moisturizing day cream.( pink one). How do I get rid of dark circles and don't have this flaky look? Is my skin dry? Or too many products?
I have extremely dark circles underneath my eyes and I need a product that will cover them well. I have no idea what to use because I am new to makeup and every concealer I have tried doesn't seem to work. I currently have Urban Decay's 24/7 Concealer Pencil that I do like for other things, but it doesn't do the job for my eyes. I have combination skin that can get oily sometimes especially as the day goes on. Do I possibly need BB/CC cream to cover them up? A different type of concealer? Does anyone have any advice for me?
I e-mailed customer service last week, but I didn't hear back from anyone, so I will try here. My color IQ is 3Y07, but it doesn't show all the brands for my shade. I am interested in the Hourglass Oil-free mattifying foundation, but nothing comes up for color IQ for that product. Does that mean there's just no similar match?
Hi, I do root touchups monthly to cover my grays... which rita hazan shine gloss can i use (brassiness, brown gloss, clear gloss? my hair is black and fine... Ok everyone my face was clearing up and I hadn't gotten breakouts and all of a sudden I have been getting huge breakouts, all over my cheeks and jawline. I don't know what to use whats good what works for you acne spot treatments etc ?!?!
I'm wearing Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Double Dare today and I'm IN LOVE. I'm a liquid lipstick fiend and I think this one might have just trumped Stila's for me, which I didn't think was possible. I want to pick up a few more, but I've heard some of them are really drying/don't work as well as others. Got recommendations or warnings about other KVD colors? I'd love to hear them!
HI, I have the same problem Unsuccessful Authorization in my order and i have 2 pre authorization payment for 78$ each for my order..... please could you cancel one pre payment and let me know about my order when is gonna be ship. thanks
What is a comparable foundation to the HD Makeup Forever foundation. No the Ultra (new formula) as it is way to oily and breaks me out. The old formula, which I have used for years, was perfect. Never oily and never break out.
Dear Sephora. I would like to thank you for for the following: -Thank you for offering $50 credits to all of us who qualified. Even though some got sent much later than others (I got mine today by calling). - Thanks for restocking the Canadian samples section lol after having only 4-6 the last little while -Thanks for restocking the entire Canadian site so quickly after that weird glitch where 75% of products were OOS. - I'm noticing better point perks already !! -Your customer service reps (the ones I talked to) certainly did not sound like they had been talking to angry customers all day. Nor as if they were having the same conversations over and over. So thank you to them. Thank you for listening to us
SO! My inner goth child gets to come out and play because Manson is coming to town Halloween weekend. And of course I am going because this is a can't miss even for most of the folks around here of a certian age lol I am already thinking about looks because this will be one of those times that I don't realy think that a few swipes of taupe eye shadow and MAC Rebel will cut it. So i turn to my lovelies on here to get some ideas
So I noticed this new line of skincare products that both Sephora and QVC is carrying. Has anyone here used any of their products or personally heard good/bad things about the brand? I thought about purchasing the lip balm they have just to try the brand out. It appears to be an all natural line (which I can appreciate). Thanks in advance!
I have never posted before but I am kind of freaking out right now. Two nights ago I used a sample packet of Sunday Riley Good Genes.. I used it as a serum on clean skin overnight. I dont have overly sensitive skin, I use all the glam glow products, my clarisonic, etc. However I woke up with terribly bumpy, rash like skin all over my face that feels burning and itchy. I assume the rash will go away, (hopefully very soon!) but now I am terrified to use any new face products (And I have a tonne of packets and deluxe samples to get through!) Anyone have any advice as to what ingredients in Sunday Riley I may have reacted to? This has never happened before with other products. Any help is MUCH appreciated!! Spoiler (Highlight to read)
I'm new to these boards, so I'm sorry if this has already been covered! I'm a bit overwhelmed trying to pick a morning/nightly skincare routine. There are so many different products you can use, but what do you think is actually necessary? I've also noticed that a lot of you ladies will only use some products every few nights, why is that? And how do you determine which products are not for daily use? I have normal to dry skin, and I break out on my chin when I don't wash my brushes every week. I'm 27 so I've started to worry more about anti aging products. Right now, I wash my face at night only, I have a serum I use in the morning as well as night (is this necessary?), and I use a day cream or night cream. Am I missing anything?
Heading into the new holiday sets of 2015 I wanted to get insight of the best of 2014 (sometimes brands are consistent; sometimes they disappoint...but still). Last year I loved the LM eye sticks, the UD Vice Ltd (the neon green one), the Tarte set and the Sephora collection mini cleanser set. I also liked the UD and KVD mini lipstick sets. And then there was the Chanel Camellia de Plumes highlighter. Anyone else?
