Hi everyone! I just purchased my holiday dress for a work event this year- it's a beautifully loud, sparkly rose gold dress. I'm typically a girl who goes for a basic black dress with a bold lip, so I'm stumped on what my makeup look with this outfit should be. I'm pairing it with opaque black tights and heeled booty shoe. Any thoughts on products/colors/etc? Thanks for your input!

Hey, so I went to the store opening event for rouges at the Robson street location in Vancouver. It was really impressive, so I thought I would share! Here is what it looked like from outside. There was a little red carpet, photo area, and SA taking names on an iPad. Once I was inside, a SA gave me some sparkling wine and a little pamphlet detailing the event. There were little punch boxes on the bottom that you got punched when you visited different stages. If you got them filled out, you got the gift bag at the end. They were lenient about this though. As you can see, there were some brand reps there, including Ole Henriksen. He was so cute and friendly! We also got a little red bracelet with a metal "Sephora" charm to designate we were rouges. Here is the sparkling wine/ appy station. It was unlimited. They had mini pumpkin pies, cheesecakes, stuffed scallops, and mini pulled pork things. It was quite good. The new location was gorgeous! I was really impressed. It will be my go to Sephora. It had the largest variety of products I have ever seen in a Sephora. It also had a photo booth that printed out your picture and uploaded to their site. Here is the great Tom Ford display. The had a few other displays like this for high-end perfumes. They also had an Atelier station where they monogramed the leather cases (I think?). I didn't check it out too much. I was also VERY excited to see the Giorgio Armani display. Apparently it is the only one on the WC in Canada. Anyway, here is a preview of what to expect. I was also really excited to see that the store has a second level that is exclusive to Rouges. Apparently it is for the free consultations. I think this is a great idea. It makes the consultations seem like an actual perk. Hopefully they will have actual MUA employed to work in that area. Towards the end of the night, the DJ got louder and all the SA started to clap, sing, and dance. It was cute. The rep for Fresh was going nuts. Finally, here are the freebies I got. I think they are pretty generous! I got Atelier cologne samples, a Sephora eyeshadow palette, a full sized (?) Fresh face mask, a full sized (?) Ole Henriksen gel eye lift, a Sephora brush, a Benefit coloured brow gel, a new mini Ole Henriksen cleanser, a Sephora Robson Street tote, and a Sephora umbrella. The rep for Ole demoed the new cleanser, and it was really nice. It is gel consistency but when you rub it for a long time it turns into an oil and changes colour. I'm pretty excited to try it out. Anyway, great job Sephora! I can't wait to shop in the new store. Thanks for creating a great event for Rouges. Did anyone else go to this event?
At least that's what it feels like to me lol! On Wed I was browsing the sale section and saw something called Peter Thomas Roth Flawless Face Trio. The trio included a FULL size 1oz bottle of PTR Retinol Fusion, .30oz of un-wrinkel eye cream and .5oz of spf moisturizer. The best part? The price! $22.25 Yep, you read that right $22.25. The very same full size bottle of Retinol Fusion PM sells for $65.00 alone! I couldn't believe what I was seeing so on a whim I ordered 3 of the trios. They arrived today and sure enough, it is the full size bottle! I went back this afternoon to buy a few more (greedy, I know but I love the PM Retinol) and it is no longer listed. When i go to my order page and click on the trio it comes up the page is not available. I'm super excited and thankful that I caught it when I did. Goes to show - just when you thought you have the website memorized, you never know why you may find! Passing good karma on to the rest of you beauties! xoxox
I'm sitting here with my soft plush blanket and warm cat on my lap feeling very happy it's getting chilly. Got me to thinking, what are some good fall/winter staples for fragrance, lotion, makeup...etc? Doesn't even have to be about beauty. Do you love peppermint mochas from Starbucks? Eager to make/eat a pumpkin roll?
I have a few gift cards saved on my sephora app. and when I tried using them today, I was not able to. The gift cards are viewable in the app, but I cannot see their card or pin numbers. Can you please help me!!
Here is what I currently use: Neutrogena Grapefruit face wash Say yes to grapefruit under eye cream (doesn't work) CVS brand moisturizer with an SPF of 20 Makeup: Bare Minerals Ready Foundation Bare Minerals Concealer Bare Minerals Blush (been using the same color for three years) Tarte Mascara Urban Decay Naked eyeshadow (from 1, 2, or basics) Bobbi Brown Lipstick I just feel really stuck. I feel as though I need a beauty overhaul. I'm 21 and in college and I don't like to keep up with beauty trends. I prefer refined, classic and tried and true products with good reviews to back them up. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
I was thinking about this while I was applying a Chanel product this morning and thinking about how often it seems people dislike scented products, when the scent isn't the product's purpose (perfume/cologne, lip balms, namely). But the blush I was about to put on just smelled so lovely to me this morning. I feel like the fragrance/scent/smell/odor of products tend to get a bad rap. Anytime anyone mentions how something smells, it seems to be in relation to why they don't like it, or why they brought it back (foundations, hair products, lip products, etc...). What products have scents that you either love, come to adore, or remind you of something/someone?
You may have seen that I post that I love my Maybelline Dream Finish BB cream in Dark. 'Cause I do! But I've noticed that I get lots of compliments on my skin when I wear it. One person said my skin looked gorgeous (I also use a NARS concealer stick for dark spots). Another person said my skin was glowing. Seriously. And most of the time I use my Lancome Teinte Idole foundation, but it's nice to know that the BB cream does a great job, too. And I love that's so light on my skin.
Hi guys, in a fit of daring, or perhaps madness, I recently switched from blue/black glasses to burgundy frames. The glasses are far more prominent than I am used to and I'm not sure what to do with my eye makeup. I have blue eyes, blonde hair, and tend towards cool colours. Any advice?
My picture won't load, but it looks like Smashbox is coming out with a second palette. I have the first, and even though the quality isn't great, I do like it. But I only wear it on days that I'm not in a rush. Hopefully the quality of this palette is better. I'll try again to upload the image.
What makeup is everyone wearing today? Today I am wearing: 1. Benefit Hello Flawless Foundation in Champagne 2. Benefit Coralista blush 3. TheBalm Mary-Loumanizer 4. Dior Creme de Rose Lipbalm 5. Dior Addict Lipstick in 454 6. Benefit Creaseless Cream shadow in RSVP and under all this I am wearing Neutrogena Pure and Free Liquid Sunblock SPF 50 So c'mon now...confess!
Hi ladies and gents! I feel like I have looked at every single brush Sephora carries and now I am just overwhelmed! I am looking for a very specific brush: I currently use Sephora Pro #60 to apply my pressed foundation, which is CoverFX. This is a great brush for the price, however, it's completely unportable as the handle is REALLY long. I also own the Sephora retractable kabuki, but I find that to be a little small and dense to do the job I'm looking for. So what I need is a high-quality powder brush or foundation brush that has a handle short enough to be tossed in a makeup bag. (BONUS if it can also handle liquid foundation, as I switch off with YSL's new Ink and even though I like finger application I am keen to try it with a brush. However, short-handled + good for pressed foundation are the major objectives here.) Can you help? I'm especially stymied because most of the brushes don't have dimensions shown online and it's tricky to tell how long they might be. Thanks!
I have green hazel eyes, i'm a brunette and besides and i have a tanned skin, which colors can I use to bring out the green of my eyes? Also my eyes are really big and when I use black eye liner it makes it go small, what is a perfect way to outline them black but make them look big?
Hi everyone! I'm adding items to my cart for the VIB sale & have come across a conundrum! I can't decide between several of the Too Faced palettes - I'm interested in the Too Faced Natural Eye Neutral Eye Shadow palette and the Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette. I'm also wondering if I should just go for the big guy and get the Too Faced Everything Nice set. I'm fair skin/brown hair/brown eyes and want an everyday awesome palette to add to my collection (who can have too many neutrals?!). Can anyone weigh in on their favorites or which would be the most flattering for me? I've done tons of research and looked at swatches/reviews online but I always seem to get the best advice here on BT. Thank you in advance! <3
