I am looking for a foundation to make my skin look amazing. I know that really depends on my preference but I would like some foundation recommendations. I have oily, acne prone skin and I currently use Makeup Forever HD foundation (177). The color is close but just a tad on the yellow side, but it's not something that I haven't been able to work with. My best color match is actually a drug store brand (loreal true match N8) but unfortunately it breaks me out...BAD! I like the finish of the MUFE foundation, but I want something that gives me a little glow, but also something that doesn't make me too oily. Any suggestions? I have tried NARS sheer glow and absolutely loved the finished, but it creased really bad and if I remember correctly, it broke me out some.
Hi, I'm in need of a new eye primer. I have been using the Nars Pro Prime. It has been the best I've tried so far but recently it's starting to let me down. I don't know if it's the warmer weather or the eye shadow I'm using but every thing has been creasing, smudging, and/or fading by mid day. My eyelids are super oily, I never even put concealer on them because it never stays. I've already tried Urban Decay and have never liked that one. I've even used the hourglass face primer on my eyelids but that didn't help much either. Can anyone recommend a good eye primer for me? I would also prefer the eye primer to be paraben free. Thank you.
Hi ladies. This is the first time I have ever been on Beauty Talk and I'm needing some input on Becca Ever-Matte Poreless Priming Perfector. In theory, I love this product. I've had it for about two weeks now and have used it and played around with it every day. My problem is that when it dries it leaves white, flaky spots on my face that look exactly like dried glue. I warm the product between my fingers before application and pat it on as opposed to rubbing it on. Still have problems with flaky, white unattractiveness. I really don't want to return it because like I said I love the idea of this product I really want it to work! Anyone have a similar experience or tips on how to apply this product without it looking like dried glue? Any help would be MUCH appreciated!
Everybody loves a Winged liner, but achieving the look can be somewhat challenging. The perfect product for beginners is Benefits They're Real liner, you are able to get a smooth line every Time. Another favorite of mine is Kat Von D Tattoo liner, the fine tip brush applicator creates fine precise line the color payoff with waterproof setting is an added bonus. What are your Favorite eyeliners? Why? Tips or tricks?
I have a lot of redness around my nose, and no matter what foundation or primer I use, the foundation always seems to rub off around my nose. Yes, I rub my nose a lot because of allergies. But also I find that retouching my makeup that often is too troublesome. Whenever I rub my nose with a tissue, I see all the foundation/concealer around there rub off. This happens with any foundations that I use and it really bothers me!! Does anyone know why this is happening to me??
Is it going to be back in stock ever? Or has it gone the way of the dodo? It's been OOS for ages now. If it's not coming back, what's a good substitute? I'm not looking for a self-tanner, just something I can put on my lily white legs when required.
Hey guys, Just wondering if anyone has any recommendations for a body balm or lotion that would help cover up stretch marks or make skin tone look more even? I'm a light medium tone. I've already tried Matte body perfection gel by PERFEKT but I think it looked sort of orange on the skin. Didn't look too natural & really had to work it into the skin.
I have my face under control I use dr. dennis gross extra strength peel regularly and then put my proactive step 3 on after that before bed and this keeps my face clear but i always end up with pimples in my hairline and farther back into my scalp!! It's extremely irritating and I have thin hair especially towards my face so sometimes they are noticeable...Does anyone have any suggestions for something that could help this? Shampoo/Conditioner combo or some skincare that wouldn't grease/ruin my hair???
Hello BT! Today is August 1st and that means another month of hauls! This month is the 2x/3x/4x the points for BI,VIB and ROUGE respectively. This is a great time to stock up on points lost throughout the year! Please share your purchases! Remember, a haul is a haul no matter how big or small!
I love a guy who knows his skincare and makeup, and you guys certainly know your stuff! I'm really curious to know - what got you so interested? Were you encouraged by anyone or did you discover it all yourselves? Do people notice when you wear makeup? Do you get hassled about it? Do you get positive comments? I think it's great that you are here. I'd love to know how you got here, if you don't mind my asking. Girls are marketed to from practically infancy about beauty products - guys not so much! So, how did it all start for you guys?
Hello! I have a question I am sure is asked a lot. I am having trouble finding a foundation, well kind of. I was matched in store for MUFE Mat Velvet+ in No. 20 Ivory. I do really like this foundation but since its summer I went back in to find something a bit lighter looking and a more natural finish. (I have Combo Skin that gets oily through the day on the forehead). I was matched with the tool they have now and was told I was 2Y04. Well now I am really lost, how do I know what color I am and how do I go about finding a shade for me with out having to go and try them all on and not get pushed into one I don't really like. When I go to find my color matches through the foundation I already have it comes up with 1R03 and a totally different set of colors. Now I have also gotten my hands on MUFE HD in 115 Ivory and it also looks good on me. So If you can help me out I would much appreciate it.
I've been on the Ipsy waiting list, but still look at the thread. I thought we could have a shared thread from all the subscription boxes (including non-beauty ones likes underpants and lifestyle such as Wantable and POPSugar). That way we can live vicariously through each others goodies! (I know there are unboxing videos on YouTube, but I do not have the patience to sit through a five minute video about someone apologizing for the state of their hair. And I know there are blogs where I can see photos, but everyone usually gets different items in their boxes)
Manuka Honey enriched pigments - that are suppose to be organic, this sounds very interesting. This is a new product I just saw on Sephora's site !!! http://www.sephora.com/modster-manuka-honey-enrich ed-pigments-P387690?skuId=1619790 I wonder if it also smells like honey?? What are your thought's ladies and gents?
I have acne, majority of the time, on my chin and around my mouth area and throughout the day I get an oily t-zone. It seems even if I do not pick a pimple it still leaves hyper-pigmentation, I have a lot of that. Could anyone recommend a whole new skin care routine that suits my needs? Greatly appreciated (I have used Murad, Clinque, and Ren T-Zone control cleansing gel before and all were unsuccessful)
I just recently went completely nuts over this brand. Even though I'm a skincare fanatic, I never really paid attention to Caudalie products, well, because the brand is not as prominently advertised as others I suppose.. I'd love to know your favs (or HGs)! Here are mine:
Alright ladies, lets hear it...I am not too keen on spending $70 on a mask I am not sure will work for me. What are your reviews on the Glamglow superclearing (white) mask/treatment?? I have blackheads that need to be cleared, acne-prone skin, with the occasional hormonal breakout & my skin is also oily-combination. I have heard RAVE reviews and so-so reviews. HELP!
I have oily, acne-prone skin with some dark acne scars along the cheeks. Between FAB's Face Cleanser, Boscia's Detox Black Cleanser and Murad's Face Cleanser, which is best? Or is there something better?
Last Friday I had the opportunity to go to the Bite Beauty event at my local Sephora (Les Ailes (Ste-Catherine), Montréal) and had the opportunity to create my own bespoke lipstick shade. It was definitely my favourite Sephora event to date! They transformed a corner of the store into a mix between a candy shop and a chemistry lab, and I was given the occasion to sit down with the super lovely and helpful Sarah from Bite to create the lipstick I always wish existed! Not only did I get to create the exact shade I wanted, I was also able to choose the finish, and essential oil scent. I know they do the same thing at their lab in NYC.. Has anyone else had the opportunity to create their own Bite lipstick either at the lab or at an event in their store? I'd love to see the shades you created!
I enjoy my face pores. My nose pores - not so much. I've always had a problem with them (mostly because I didn't know how to deal with them). I used to use those Biore strips, but then read that they are actually terrible and a big no-no. I'm not looking for anything to cover them, I'm looking for a long-term solution to cleaning them out and shrinking them Thanks for the help, you wonderful people!
I am 45 years old and have fought oily skin, hormonal breakouts and large pores all my life. In the last few years I have tried OH and Clinque 3 step for oily skin but neither has helped me, I have been using a Mia for about 2 months and it has helped some but not as much as I had hoped. Does anyone have any other suggestions of products to use. So here is my routine so no confusion.. Mia 1 x daily AM Clinque 3 step cleanser, toner and moisterizing gel Hourglass primer Clinque Mat foundation or KVD foundation or BMinerals Still have to blot about two hours after makeup. Ugggh frustrating to say the least. Please help!
Hi dolls, Another palette from ABH?! I'M IN LOVE. The beautiful mayamia (on youtube and instagram) collaborated with them AGAIN to create this gorgeous palette. I'm so excited <3 P.S The Contour book will also be avail in January for anyone interested.
Hi beauties!!! I need your help finding a bronzer. Throughout the year, my skintone is light, and I wear UD's Naked Skin in 3.5 (or ED DW in Fresco, NW20, L'Oreal true match C3) for reference. In the summer, I get quite a bit tanner and all my foundations become too light for my skin. I try to mix these shades with darker ones I have, but they still end up being too light to match my body. My face is also lighter than my body because I exfoliate it. I don't want to buy a darker foundation, as I switch up what foundations I use daily, and I don't want to be limited to 1 foundation. I've been trying different bronzers to lightly use all over my face to warm up my complexion and darken my face a bit to match my body, but I haven't had any luck finding one that is dark enough/looks natural. I've tried: Too Faced Chocolate Soleil - doesn't seem to have any effect at making my face any darker? I have the regular and not the milk chocolate, but it just doesn't seem to be dark enough or something... NYC Sunny - way too orange Benefit Hoola - good to contour, not good for allover my face, as it makes me look muddy Nars Laguna - similar to my issue with chocolate soleil, it doesn't seem to do all that much to warm up my face, unless I'm contouring I've tried a few others from Wet n Wild and Physician's formula and haven't had anything that I've liked. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
I was looking on the Ulta website and saw a new BECCA pressed powder shimmering skin perfector in champagne gold. I wondered if anyone has seen swatches of this. I already have Moonstone, Opal and Rose Gold so the question is do I need it?? LOL...of course. But I was really wondering how different it is from Moonstone. I'm not sure how to link a picture but you can find it on Ulta or the BECCA website. It says it's limited edition (ha ha, so was rose gold) and it has the same stamping on it as the holiday rose gold had on it.
Hi, folks-- I have very thick hair that is slightly wavy that goes to about mid-back. It will totally stay stick straight if I blow it out or use a flat iron. But if I want to coax it in the other direction and get soft curls, they fall within an hour or two. Short of dousing my hair with an entire can of hairspray, what other solutions are there? I'd love to keep the look soft and with movement. I typically use rollers, but sometimes a curling or flat iron. Thanks in advance for your help!
