Working Towards Wellness: February 2026

Hello, BIC! I don't know about you, but self-care is always one of those things I know I should do, but some days are better than others when it comes to actually getting it done, or getting it done meaningfully. There's a lot going on, all around us. Some are good things, some are hard things, some are stressful. Some of those things are part of our every day, normal routines; some things are not normal at all. In either case, in all cases, it's important to take time, to make time, to look after our wellness.
Wellness Bingo: February 2026Wellness Bingo: February 2026

There are many ways to go about self-care, including this game of bingo. If you're new to wellness bingo (or BIC, for that matter), welcome! 👋 If you're returning for another month of wellness bingo here on BIC, welcome back! 🙌 As always, more information regarding wellness bingo as well as the self-care activities listed on this month's board can be found in the links below.

FAQ's
Description of Activities

Whether or not you choose to join in a game of wellness bingo here on BIC (at home or on the threads), please give yourself a little extra time this month to look after your wellness and the wellness of those around you.

[NOTE: I took a slightly different take on this month's board, incorporating some themes within the self-care activities inspired by a few of the events and occasions we celebrate and honor this month, which I talk briefly about in the description of activities. One thing you will see is that some of this month's squares include words in quote, in addition to the self-care activity for a particular square. Those words are lyrics to one of the 6 songs nominated for Song of the Year at this year's Grammy Awards, which I made an effort to connect to the wellness activity - some connections required more creative license than others. A 🎶 emoji is noted in the Description section for those activities with a musical tie-in and that tie-in is discussed briefly at the end of the description of the particular self-care activity.]

Re: Working Towards Wellness: February 2026

I mean, if it’s for science @ather … 😂 Pizza and ice cream are classic combo; add a salad to the mix and that’s a better balanced meal right there! Come on over, I’ll take you and your two guys on a pizza and ice cream tour of the city. For science, of course. 😉

Re: Working Towards Wellness: February 2026

@itsfi  That sounds amazing!!! I will definitely have to come and test it out!!!

Re: Working Towards Wellness: February 2026

@itsfi I don't know how you expect me to look at the lip stains when there is that 🤤 in the picture too. Great start to the month! Love the stamper ideas.

Re: Working Towards Wellness: February 2026

Hahahaha @Samtian, ngl, the focus was originally meant to be on the soft serve but I figured I should have a beauty tie-in of some sort, lol. I passed on pizza and lip stains for myself but that salted caramel soft serve more than made up for it. 🍦 Nom, nom, nom. AND, I learned it's the flavor for all of winter, so I will definitely be finding a reason to be in that part of town again! 🤣

Re: Working Towards Wellness: February 2026

@itsfi I love that photo... ice cream and lip stains... can't go wrong!  And time with friends can be so good for the heart!

Re: Working Towards Wellness: February 2026

@missjeanie I thought the same thing. I wanted to ask about the lip tints but kept getting distracted by the ice cream.

@itsfi it's like freezing here so I shouldn't want ice cream but I do.

Re: Working Towards Wellness: February 2026

So true @missjeanie, so true. The Sephora - soft serve outing was with friends who have known me since before I was officially an adult 🤣 so yes, back when dinosaurs roamed the earth, lol. They are not into makeup, clothes, etc. so it's fun for me when one or both of them says something like "can we stop by Sephora real quick?" I'm always "it doesn't have to be 'real quick'!"  They were not there for the Laneige but since they humored me with being being swatch models (one is more fair complected and one is more tan than I) so I was able to see how a particular shade swatched. And in return, I picked up ones for shades they seemed to like but wouldn't ever buy for themselves. Had I known there'd be a beauty challenge only a couple of days later ... 😅

Re: Working Towards Wellness: February 2026

Lol @itsfi It never has to be quick.... we can wander that store for hours! Very kind of you to treat your friends to a little something something! We love when we have friends to do swatch lines with!

Re: Working Towards Wellness: February 2026

@itsfi

The soft serve looks delicious! I'm interested in the Laneige Juicy Boxes too, the pink and peachy pink ones and the nude one too.

Re: Working Towards Wellness: February 2026

lol @nuinui933, I was very happy with my soft serve treat, ha! I was on the fence iwth the Laneige but after swatching them for friends I can see myself picking up at least one. I will say that you should swatch them because, at least for me, some of the shades swatched slightly different than what I expected. Hard to explain too because they didn't skew the same way.

Re: Working Towards Wellness: February 2026

@itsfi thanks for the tag, I am ready for a great month of self care

I took a few days off this week and did some of the squares.

Music therapy - I listened to some of the songs from the Grammy winners

Cozy comfort and healthy meal - made French onion soup in the slow cooker and had it with some French bread, a salad, and a glass of red wine.

Quiet time - I used it to read Sunday and yesterday, hope that is okay? Wasn’t sure if it counted for quiet time or that meant being quiet and still? One night I read while having a cup of hot cocoa and another night I read while sipping on a glass of wine. I might have a cup of chamomile tea tonight if I get some time to read. I’m going to try a digital detox before bed. Reading something will help me be able to get to 30 minutes.

Re: Working Towards Wellness: February 2026

@eshores your cozy meal sounds like the perfect winter meal for a day in.

Re: Working Towards Wellness: February 2026

@eshores  Great job! I think quiet time is a perfect time for reading! Are you reading any good books?

Re: Working Towards Wellness: February 2026

@ather thanks. I'm just going thru some of Reese Witherspoon's book club picks. Do you have books you recommend?

Re: Working Towards Wellness: February 2026

@eshores  Hmmm no my reading has not been good lately! But if you have any recommendations for me I’ll take them!!

Re: Working Towards Wellness: February 2026

@eshores Ooh that comforts sounds divine! And quiet time totally counts!

Re: Working Towards Wellness: February 2026

@eshores

Your quiet time reading with something warm sounds relaxing.

Re: Working Towards Wellness: February 2026

@eshores quiet time reading with a glass of wine sound like a fantastic idea... one that I may copy this month!

Re: Working Towards Wellness: February 2026

@missjeanie Wine is never a bad idea and should be done whenever possible, lol.

Re: Working Towards Wellness: February 2026

Reading is a wonderful way to enjoy/do your quiet time @eshores. Occasionally we have a square dedicated to reading, podcasts, TV/movie, but we had some other activities this month so you might be able to get some reading done and two squares in the future. I need to get back to reading. Is there a particular genre or author or series you're really into at the moment? Or, do you like a little of everything?

If you've read something you'd like to share about, feel free to do so here or on the BIC book club! - the original post in that thread has list of books that goes back a few years. While you can certainly go through those books, not required at all. Folks will hop on and share about what they read and their general thoughts. The spoiler feature (between the emoji and camera icons right above this reply box) comes in handy to keep from giving away important details, storylines or plots. Hit that icon and a box will appear that you can include some of those details and those of us who don't want to have something spoiled can avoid it, while those of us who want to know can open it up and keep on reading on.
