Re: The August Favorites Thread

You are young and beautiful ❤️ I look back at my young self and say this is karma for complaining I had 🐿 cheeks.  1988.  Lol I’m sure many weren’t born yet 😹

Re: The August Favorites Thread

Such a pretty photo and your makeup skills were amazing back then, too! 😉

Re: The August Favorites Thread

You look great here, @2manyperfumes 😊 Isn't it interesting how our faces change as we age?

Re: The August Favorites Thread

Thanks @l8totheparty 🥰 I know my face shape has really changed each decade - I guess as we lose the baby fat.  The photo was taken at my sister-in-law’s wedding back in 1988.  I was 23.

Re: The August Favorites Thread

I really love the SC Cleansing Wipes for cleansing my face quickly after a workout. They are a must for my yoga and pilates classes. <333

Re: The August Favorites Thread

@l8totheparty I believe you and @Cyncynn like the eye cream. Do either of you have fine lines or is your main concern puffiness? Thanks! I'm looking for a new eye cream but my issue is fine lines.

Re: The August Favorites Thread

@ShortErica I don't have any issues with puffiness. Just fine lines and dark circles. Nothing helps with my dark circles tbh. The caffeine does as good a job as the DE C Tango for me at smoothing my fine lines and moisturizing the eye area - I didn't notice a difference when I switched. I am 32 for reference.

The texture of the DE and caffeine is more lightweight than eye creams I've tried from Lancome, Darphin. It is heavier then the one from Dr. Sturm (I need to layer that one, but it did help minimally with dark circles, but totally not worth the $$$).

I hope this is helpful!

Re: The August Favorites Thread

I'm 32 too @Cyncynn. I've used the Roc eye cream and it did decent considering I didn't use eye cream before but I'm not like this is the end all be all and feel like I should try others. Thanks so much for this info!

Re: The August Favorites Thread

@ShortErica I never tried the Roc one. Let me know if you do try the caffeine, because I'd be curious to hear your thoughts on it! 🙂

Re: The August Favorites Thread

The price for The Inkey List items makes it hard for me to think it wouldn't be worth a try @Cyncynn. 🙂

Re: The August Favorites Thread

@ShortErica For sure! I haven't tried anything I disliked so far. The eye cream and the Polyglutamic acid are faves!

Re: The August Favorites Thread

I am impressed with the Inkey List so far, @ShortErica. Totally worth a try in my book😉

Re: The August Favorites Thread

I agree  @eshoe !  The price makes it worth a shot.

Re: The August Favorites Thread

My issue is fine lines, minimal dark undereye circles (very little, unless lack of sleep), and puffiness after increased salt intake or lack of sleep.  This product helps with the puffiness.  I've topped this one with a more moisturizing eye cream for lines. @ShortErica

Re: The August Favorites Thread

Thanks @l8totheparty. Which do you use for lines?

Re: The August Favorites Thread

I've been using SHISEIDO - Benefiance Wrinkle Smoothing Eye Cream

In the winter evenings and sometimes mornings.  This summer I've been using the Drunk Elephant C-Tango™ Vitamin C Eye Cream 0.5 oz/ 15 mL

many mornings and evenings. However, I do like a touch of Shiseido under my eyes under my concealer- its creamier than the DE and my undereyes look better with it.   It takes a while to get through samples, but those are my currents. I've used the DE over the Inkey list caffeine this August.

@ShortErica

Re: The August Favorites Thread

@l8totheparty Seems like we have a similar taste on eye creams, so I'll (try to remember) to ask for a sample of the shiseido cream!

Re: The August Favorites Thread

Try it!  It's especially nice in the winter. A little goes a long way. @Cyncynn

Re: The August Favorites Thread

I didn't have a chance to try a bunch of new things in August due to traveling, being busy, and just keeping things pretty low key makeup and skin care wise, but I did add a couple of times to my collection I reached for a few times this month.

1. Charlotte Tilbury Eyeshadow Palette in Pillow Talk - I generally prefer larger palettes with more options, and with only 4 in this one it's not I'd usually justify buying since it is one the pricer side. But, N-a-P had a great sale plus their CT prices are already lower so I got a screaming deal and couldn't pass it up for an easy everyday palette. It's truly perfect for a quick wearable look appropriate for any situation.

2. CT Matte Revolution in Sexy Sienna - I also picked this up with my N-a-P order. Sexy Sienna is the perfect pinky coral that really flatters my skin tone and pairs well with many of my outfits. I find corals can be hard to wear, and I have no issues with this one!

3. Nature's Ultra Cool Mint CBD Oil - Some of you are familiar with my fibromyalgia management journey I've been on for a few months now. I started taking CBD oil because it was something I read could be really beneficial and it honestly almost eliminated my symptoms or has significantly reduced the severity of my flairs. At least, I am partially attributing it to the CBD oil, since I started feeling the improvements soon after I started taking it. I'm definitely not 100%, I think I've only felt 100% once or twice, but the little bit I'm dealing with is in no way debilitating or preventing me from living my life. Hopefully it continues to work for me!

Re: The August Favorites Thread

@alexasteph I am so glad the CBD oil is working for you. I struggle with insomnia and noticed some improvement when taking CBD oil - it is also supposed to better than melatonin and magnesium.

I love the pillow talk palette - it is my to go look 🙂

Re: The August Favorites Thread

@Cyncynn I’ve definitely noticed an improvement in my sleep too! Getting good sleep can help with FMS, especially when it comes to preventing pain and stiffness in the morning, and since I’ve been taking it I’ve had zero issues getting out of bed in the morning, and can again enjoy an afternoon nap pain free!
