As someone who often can't get to sleep due to racing thoughts (worried about the past or the future, test results, you name it), I've been working on increasing my mindfulness before sleep. Before bed, I give myself 5 minutes to compose my thoughts and go over anything anxious from during the day, while also remembering the positives to make myself more content. If my thoughts keep running when I go to bed, I take a deep breath and ask myself why am I worrying or thinking about that particular item. I try to imagine putting it away until the morning, and focus on that until I'm more calm. It takes a while to get used to, but practicing this "inside reflection" can help reduce overthinking significantly after practice!
It also helps to have a calming routine right before bed. For me, it's my skincare routine, which involves cleanser, toner, serum, and moisturizer (but can be different for everyone). It helps to further compartmentalize my day thoughts from my night routine and my sleep. Baby steps are best, so try one of the two first before jumping in completely!
No better sleep, then sleeping on fresh sheets straight from the dryer. Them a small amount of lavender oil across your forehead and behind the ear. Of course be sure to drink some water before bed so you don't get dehydrated. #HappySleeping
Most important to me in general has been having good bedding, from the foundation up. I love our memory foam mattress and it's totally changed the way that we sleep. I now have a memory foam pillow, too, and it makes a world of difference. If you don't have a good pillow, get one.
Have comfortable sheets. I like high count cotton sheets that are really smooth (since I can't find the sandwashed silk sheets I found on discount that were butter soft).
Don't have a clock staring you in the face if you're having trouble sleeping -- it only reminds you that you're still not asleep. Mine is a small travel clock that I have to push a button to see the time. I also have sleep mask if there is any light bothering me and ear plugs if my husband is snoring.
I find that reading before I fall asleep is good; I like my Kindle for this because it doesn't bother my husband and if I fall asleep it will shut itself off. I tend to read history at night because it's interesting but not that interesting.
I also have to wash and do my routine before bed. I want my skin to feel refreshed but not at all sticky -- I've found I'm willing to get up and wash my face again because if it feels icky I definitely can't sleep.
Comfortable loose PJs and a great mattress are most crucial for good sleep ( Yes I’m am one of those people who change into PJs for midday nap as well 😂)
As odd as it sounds, a game changer for me has been a weighted blanket. I wasn't sure I'd like it much at first, but I'm actually amazed at how much more restful my sleep is when I'm using it.
TURN. EVERYTHING. OFF. I don't know anyone (myself included) who doesn't watch tv or go on their phone/laptop before going to sleep. It is so much easier to fall asleep and stay asleep through the night if you can get yourself to actually turn off all of your electronics and just close your eyes. This is a must for me on the night before a big exam (I'm a neurobiology student so I could use all of the help I can get!). Usually I get into bed and go on my phone for an hour or so before I actually fall asleep, but if I really need a good night's sleep I turn off my phone as soon as I get into bed. Not only is that another hour of sleep for me but I always sleep through the night as well. Try it!!!
Reading an old-fashioned paper book (and having two toddlers) helps me sleep quickly!
Buy comfortable pjs! I love wearing fleece pants and a cotton shirt in winter and silky shorts in summer. If i get cold I'll put on some fuzzy. I also use a weighted blanket (or you can stack heavy comforters) so i can get my much needed beauty sleep!

I do several things to fall asleep quickly and easily. I’m the kind of person that can fall asleep quicker when it’s cold so I turn my heaters off and open my bedroom window. I like to shower before bed and spray lavender on my pillows to help my body relax before bed. If I have only a few hours of sleep planned due to early flights, I make sure to take a sleeping pill like HUM NUTRITION - Beauty zzZz Sleep Supplementan hour before I start my bedtime process so I can fall asleep the minute my face hits the pillow.
My sleep tips are to turn off all light sources. I moisturize to help repair my face at night. Melatonin helps when I have trouble calming my mind.

My nighttime routine always involves turning on a space heater in my bathroom while I get ready for bed. The extra warmth is most needed in the winter, and is even helpful in the summer when the A/C is cranking. I love being a little extra toasty while I'm prepping for bed. It makes my beauty regime that much more relaxing, so that I'm in a cozy mood and prepped for sleep.
