Putting away the gadgets an hour before bed, sipping on some SleepyTime Tea, and a good book all help do the trick for me. You can't go wrong with a good sleeping lotion like the GENIUS Sleeping Collagen & Liquid Collagen from Algenist! ALGENIST - GENIUS Sleeping CollagenALGENIST - GENIUS Liquid Collagen
My best advice for a great nighttime routine, is to double cleanse your face before applying night creams. This is important so you remove all the dirt/oil/makeup. Also, no phone at least 30 mins before bed!!
My bedtime ritual may seem excessive to some, but I have it so down pat that it has become second nature - here we go:
1-Wash with gel cleaner - I use PTR
2-Exfoliate with a rice cleanser - I use either Josie Maran or Tatcha
3-Toner
4-Essence
5-Retinol - Also PTR
6-Serum - Caudalie
7-Moisturizer or (Oil in winter) - PTR or Charlotte Tillbury or (Josie maran)
8-Eye cream - PTR or Charlotte Tillbury
See.... simple! Honestly, its not as bad as it seems.
When I have a lot going on, I like to keep a pad and pen by my bed so that I can add to my to-do list so that I can "release it" from my brain for another day and my mind can rest effectively.
Ok so if I haven't had a hard day and haven't had any makeup on as well I wipe my face down with cold water. It sounds strange but it truely clears my face and closes my pores. Of course I can't do that when my face is really dirty and I have had makeup on. It has to be cold water because hot will open pores. Cold water also can help with acne and truely is the cleanest way.
The best sleep tip I know is taking a relaxing bath. Not just a regular bath, but a bath where you use scented soaps or muscle relaxing salts. Light some candles, put on a soothing song, and drink as glass of beverage of choice. Baths like these can make you feel like you are cleansing not just your body, but your spirit of all the negative vibes from a long day. You will go to bed feeling relaxed, clean, and peaceful. 😊🌙⭐️
I usually go to hot yoga before I sleep, and then I get home and immediately wash my face. From there, I will apply Josie Moran argan oil, and the Farmacy Green Mask, as well as the Kiehls under eye cream.
I work at a wedding venue and often get done around midnight and it can be difficult to unwind after such an energetic event. After washing my face I use Tartes Marcula Oil on my face and lips, I apply some Castor oil to my eyelashes and eyebrows for some growth. Then I plug in my fairy lights, prop myself up on all my fluffy pillows, and read a book. When my eyes get heavy the lights go out!
Dream balm (a balm with calming oils) on my wrists and temples
I usually wash my makeup off in the shower and then use a refreshing cleanser. (I also exfoliate every 2 days before applying cleanser.) After that I usually use serum, then toner, and then a nice moisturizer. (I always make sure the moisturizer isn't one that's greasy and clogs pores.) Hope this helps anyone.
A nice cool room with sateen cotton sheets on the bed and a satin pillowcase. An eye mask over my eyes.
Nightly routine... I spray lavender pillow mist on my sheets and pillows. I have blackout curtains on bedroom windows. Relaxing smell and a dark room relaxes my mind for a good night's sleep.
Following a night time routine is important, but actually any time of the day, the skin needs to be taken care of!! I always wash my make up off, use a nice lux oil of some sort, and then a prescription retinol. I actually leave my eye makeup on because I like the way it looks and it doesn't bother my eyes. One important thing that helps me besides sleeping pills, CLEAN SHEETS!!! Seriously, several times a week, change them!!! I feel like a hotel maid at times, but so worth it!!
Give yourself a foot rub, it can help calm your mind and relax your legs if you have restless legs. I also love a good lavender pillow spray to calm my mind.
I do yoga before bed. It really helps me release the stress of the day, and slows my mind down. Also, I try to put my phone down before I go into bed, and not have it next to me while I sleep.
For me staying on a schedule is key. Going to bed at the same time and getting up at the same time every day. My body knows when it’s about time to go to bed and I’ll sleep better then if I try to stay up late or sleep in.
I work rotating shifts so I work day and over night shifts: therefore, I have learned to try to take better care of my skin and body. I have gotten into the habit of double cleansing and using Vit C oil/face oil. I also spray a lavender mist on my pillow and blanket before bedtime to just help my body relax.
So I work 3rd shift, and wear no makeup to my job location, due to it being highly inappropriate., so i just make sure my face is clean. I might put on some moisturizer if my face is feeling dry and when I lay down, I'm out.

I hate to say it but I really don’t have a routine. I do wash my face and moisturize before I go to bed but I enjoy trying different products!
Try taking 6-9mg melatonin 1-2 hours before bed, or when you want your body to think the sun has set. And if you live in a geographic location with little to no sun in the mornings, definitely invest in a light box, at least 10,000 lux for the mornings to help entrain your body’s natural circadian rhythms!
