We’ve started to see some of you buzzing with excitement here on the BIC because Sephora’s Spring Savings Event is nearly here. This means it’s almost time to make some shopping decisions! We know many of us are sheltering in place, which may mean we’re focusing on at-home self-care like candles, skincare tools, or even immunity-boosting products. We are also seeing that a lot of people have been sticking to their daily beauty routines so may want to pick up their holy grails and a new product or ten (or maybe that’s just us?). Regardless of what you’re shopping for, most of us can agree that a Sephora package (for yourself or a loved one) is a great mood-lifter, especially when it comes at a discount!
If you’re Rouge (like us!) you will get 20% off your purchase, VIBs get 15% off, and Insiders get 10% off. We have everything detailed in these FAQs if you want to know more about exclusions, how to shop, and when this sale is happening for your Beauty Insider tier, so be sure to read the FAQs.
Many of us either like to ask questions or give advice to inspire others’ shopping decisions. In this community of beauty lovers, it’s nearly impossible to find a product somebody hasn’t tried so let’s use this thread to help each other out.
What are you adding to your basket for the Spring Savings Event? Comment below to share your basket or ask the Community for advice!
Glad to hear! I know, I love my #79 Sephora pro contour brush. I’ve had it for 3yrs, but hoping the new line is just as well for when I go to replace it!
Thank you! I think I’m going with hourglass, I noticed a few pro MUA’s that follow use it too🤗
@jessdub I have the ren primer. Just got it last week and have to test it out. For foundation brush I love ARTIS - Elite Mirror Oval 10 Brush
Lmk what you think after you try it!
I'm totally curious about the Shani Darden line. Has anyone here actually tried any of her products? Other than that, I wonder if the new Farmacy Daily Greens Oil-Free Gel Moisturizer with Moringa and Papaya 1.7 oz/ 50 mL will be available by then...it's on my "loves" list even though I don't exactly NEED a new moisturizer right now.
@CookieGirl1 I am very familiar with Shani Darden products. In my opinion, the only products worth trying are the retinol ones (retinol reform and texture reform). The retinol reform is what she is famous for and it's what started her brand when she was just a celebrity facialist (still is I think?). The other products like face wash and face cream seem like filler, not noteworthy line expansions. If you are not interested in the retinol, I think you can skip the line.
I've tried both retinol products and I think they are very gentle but effective. However, i feel it did take an entire bottle to really see an impact on skin texture and tone but it looked really good and glowy. Expensive but nice formulations.
@nche yeah, that was something I discovered and doing my research that I wasn't very keen on. The retinol concentration is very low and while that may be great for people with sensitive skin, I'm at the point where I need something that's really going to have a little more impact. I'm really glad that I didn't ultimately fall into the hype on the brand and buy something during the sale without really giving it some thought. Thanks for your input as well!
I did. I bought SHANI DARDEN SKIN CARE - Cleansing Serum. It was terrible. My skin felt seriously gross after like I needed to rewash my face.
The second I posted my review, which was the only honest review that didn’t receive the product free, I started to get DM’s from the people who got the product free asking why I gave it such a low rating. I’m starting to wonder if some of the reviews are paid as in they didn’t even test the product they just get xx amount to post reviews. Some of the reviews I read didn’t even pertain to the product.
I really appreciate your input, @GG84. I actually did just a little bit more research on the brand last night, ironically, and I pretty much decided that it isn't a range that I'm very interested in trying for various reasons. I completely value your opinion and you just confirmed that I've made the right decision not to purchase anything from that particular line, at least not right now.
I have the same thought about Shani Darden! I’ve heard great things about the retinol but never tried it myself. I’m actually interesting in hearing about the Shani Darden Skin Care Weightless Oil-Free Moisturizer 2.5 oz/ 75 mL because it has a really nice ingredient list for sensitive skin.
I have a few new things I want to try out, and I'm really glad I've stashed away gc's for this sale!
Skincare:
SUMMER FRIDAYS - Lip Butter Balm SUMMER FRIDAYS - Super Amino Gel Cleanser Biossance Squalane + 10% Lactic Acid Resurfacing Serum 1.01 oz / 30 mL LILAH B. - Aglow™ Priming Oil The Ordinary Resveratrol 3% + Ferulic Acid 3% 1 oz/ 30 mL
All of these things would be new products to me except the Ordinary product so it's not set in stone, but it's all on my wishlist.
Makeup:
NATASHA DENONA - Mini Retro Eyeshadow Palette NATASHA DENONA - Mini Bloom Blush Tower 28 Beauty ShineOn Lip Jelly Hydrating Non-Sticky Lip Oil Chill PAT MCGRATH LABS - Mini OpuLUST: Lip Gloss Trio Artist Couture Supreme Nudes Pressed Pigment Eyeshadow Palette 12 x 0.05oz/1.4g Artist Couture Silk Cream Lipstick Adore Me
Finally in fragrance:
CLEAN RESERVE Reserve - Solar Bloom Travel Spray .34oz/10mL MARC JACOBS FRAGRANCES - Daisy Eau So Fresh
I'm going to be honest - the Marc Jacobs one I want for the bottle alone lol. I find the Clean Reserve fragrances play well with my eczema whereas my beloved Chanel perfumes leave my skin upset the next day :(. I'll have to pare this list down some as I went a little nuts :P.
Great makeup choices, @niki172!
Thank you @curlychiquita . I need more palettes like I need a hole in the head, but Mel Thompson's said that the Artist Couture palette is similar to the ABH X Mario palette so that's why it made the list.
@niki172 I've been curious about the Biossance serum and Lilah B generally too. I love biossance products generally though and Lilah B all smells like lavender- so soothing!
I didn't know that about Lilah B products so good to know thank you @Brutalitops 😊
I’ve been trying really hard to use you products I already have this year, and use up my endless bag of samples! BUT... I’ve got my eye on a couple items...
Skincare: Sunday Riley Luna Sleeping Retinoid Night Oil 1.18 oz/ 35 mL Drunk Elephant Kamili™ Cream Body Cleanser 8.0 oz/ 240 mL
IT COSMETICS - Bye Bye Pores Leave-On Solution Pore-Refining Toner
And then a need a mascara! I haven’t worn mascara in over four years because of eye lash extensions, and now I’ve decided it’s a good to stop as there’s no way to get them filled. Therefore if you have a holy grail mascara for short, straight, and thin lashes, let me know!
@mazzkm My go to mascara is the tarte lights, camera, lashes™ 4-in-1 volumizing mascara Black ! Great length and volume without constantly having to dip back in for more as some mascaras (cheapies) do. Give it a try and see what you think!
Awesome, thank you!!
@mazzkm , feelings about the brand aside, after all these years, the Sunday Riley Luna Sleeping Retinoid Night Oil 1.18 oz/ 35 mL is still one of my favorite treatment products. It's gentle on my sensitive, easily irritable skin, but still yields results overnight.
Oh that is so good to hear! I’ve been thinking about it for a while now. I’ve tried the Drunk Elephant retinol but it was a little too strong, so I’m hoping this will work!
