We’ve started to see some of you buzzing with excitement here on the BIC because Sephora’s Spring Savings Event is nearly here. This means it’s almost time to make some shopping decisions! We know many of us are sheltering in place, which may mean we’re focusing on at-home self-care like candles, skincare tools, or even immunity-boosting products. We are also seeing that a lot of people have been sticking to their daily beauty routines so may want to pick up their holy grails and a new product or ten (or maybe that’s just us?). Regardless of what you’re shopping for, most of us can agree that a Sephora package (for yourself or a loved one) is a great mood-lifter, especially when it comes at a discount!
If you’re Rouge (like us!) you will get 20% off your purchase, VIBs get 15% off, and Insiders get 10% off. We have everything detailed in these FAQs if you want to know more about exclusions, how to shop, and when this sale is happening for your Beauty Insider tier, so be sure to read the FAQs.
Many of us either like to ask questions or give advice to inspire others’ shopping decisions. In this community of beauty lovers, it’s nearly impossible to find a product somebody hasn’t tried so let’s use this thread to help each other out.
What are you adding to your basket for the Spring Savings Event? Comment below to share your basket or ask the Community for advice!
I haven't used any makeup in...34 days, so my cart doesn't have any makeup this year. Here's my list.
I stocked up on the peace ot dots too @txcatx, I can never seem to have enough, unfortunately
@Brutalitops I usually buy the packs of 20, but after going through half a pack in the last few weeks, I figured I'd better buy the larger box!
@txcatx Yeah the stress has been getting real lately
What concealer shade goes great for 180 Fenty Matte Foundation?
@Anonymous ..I would actually start with the same shade number. The foundation and concealer shades work well together in that way. Then just go up one or down one (with corresponding undertones) if you want to highlight/contour.
Has anyone tried Verb Ghost Prep or Ghost oil? What has been your experience?
Thanks in advance to any replies.
I use ghost prep all the time. It’s amazing!!
I have it! Its pretty good at adding shine and smoothing out hair (I use it after the shower). I will say my hair does feel a bit weighed down after a long day (I have fine, asian hair)
Has anyone with sensitive skin tried SUPERGOOP! - PLAY Everyday Lotion SPF 50 with Sunflower Extract? My fiance can only use free & clear detergents and is allergic to aloe, dyes and some fragrance. Thanks!
Try YSL all hours foundation. I have went thru every kind of foundation and this is one is my #1 I only use this now. It lasts all day gave SPf in it and honestly I found it has helped with acne! You pay for what you get . This is a must
@kalelaoTarte has some great clean options with minimal silicone/dimethicone, otherwise ILIA Super Serum Skin Tint SPF 40 - Hydrating Foundation Kokkini ST12 and KOSAS - Tinted Face Oil Foundation are what I use for the same reasons, but they don't act/perform like traditional formulas so there's a learning curve since dimethicone/silicone are what give a lot of foundations the properties we associate with those products.
That all being said, some products upset my skin and some don't. While NARS - Sheer Glow Foundation has some red-flag ingredients it doesn't bother my skin so it may take some trial and error. Every now and then Sephora offers some nice foundation sample packs as GWP, maybe look out for one to experiment next time you're looking to restock on something
Hi,
Unlike the pal who recommended the NARS radiant foundation, I don’t recommended it at all because the main ingredient is dimethicone, which is a silicone and clogs pores. My skin is EXTRA sensitive and EXTRA acne prone so I know your feeling. A lot of foundations in the market have silicones, but you don’t want to have it as the main ingredient (the farther the ingredient is in the list, the less of that ingredient there is in the formula). Having said all that, I recommend the Smashbox Studio Skin 15-Hour Wear Hydrating foundation (SUPER long lasting), MUFE Ultra HD foundation (natural looking and great for pics), ABH Luminous foundation (natural looking and buildable) and the new Bite Beauty foundation (natural overall). I hope any of these work for you! I recommend using a sponge and setting them with the sponge as well so that it lasts through a lifetime 😉 Good luck👍
My acne has started acting up again. What is the best treatments for acne, scarring, large pores and uneven skin tone?
If you’re looking for something to dry out your acne may I recommend the Mario Badescu Drying Lotion Original? I don’t get a lot of acne so I might not be the person you’d go with, but whenever I get a zit I use this stuff and it’s usually gone within a day. What I do is I take a Q-Tip, dip it in the pink stuff at the bottom, dab it right over the top, and sleep with it on. Then I wash it off in the morning.
This is going to be a controversial answer but I just finished my first bottle of IT Cosmetics bye bye pores toner and I love it.
I have combo (mostly oily) skin with what I feel like are large pores on my cheeks/nose. I feel like this toner has helped minimize the appearance of those pores.
Additional products in my skincare routine include FAB pure skin cleanser, Philosophy clear days ahead acne treatment cleanser, Bio-Oil, FAB moisturizer, Kiehls Midnight Recovery.
Everyone’s skin is different but this is what has worked for me!
