Monthly Faves: November 2025!

Howdy, BIC! I hope you’re all doing well, spending quality time with loved ones, taking care of yourselves, and getting ready to close out the year! I want to recognize that this season, especially now, can be extra busy with lots of pressure to shop ‘til you drop (hey, sometimes that is its own form of self-care 😜), so manifesting lots of peace, joy, and ~balance~ for my fellow Community members, whatever that looks like for you! As for me, I simply cannot resist a good deal, but I’ll be hyper-focused on mindful gifts and must-haves (okay, and maybe a treat or two for myself…) 😁

@Titian06 Ohhhh how do the two cherry scents stack up against each other?  I have the Phlur but the 7 Virtues sounds yummy too!

@missjeanie - Here's what I wrote in the What are you wearing, Fragrance edition!   The notes are from Fragrantica.

Phlur Cherry Stem. This has a gorgeous Bing cherry; brandy; sweet, but not too sweet; leather; woody mix. This was a blind buy. I am sooo not disappointed!

Top: Black cherry, brandy, orange

Middle: Sugar, plum, jasmine, red freesia

Base: Leather, ebony, caramel

The 7 Virtues Cherry Ambition. This is a lovely Marachino cherry, sweet, musky mix. I tested this in store and really liked it, as I do most of The 7 Virtues fragrances.  This and Cherry Stem are two different scents--do you want lighter and sweeter or heavier and boozier? I love both!

Top: Cherry, pink pepper, marshmallow, mandarin orange

Middle: Saffron, cherry blossom, osmanthus, orris

Base: Frankincense, vanilla, amber, guaiac wood, musk

@Titian06  I saw CHANEL CHANCE EAU FRAÎCHE Eau de Toilette for sample and remembered your positive take on it.  Glad I did!  It's a really nice floral, but with some green to it, so thx.

@AlexBT Ok, so I've fallen back in love with contouring, so my November faves are ...

The Cornucopia of Contouring

1. Haus Labs Precision Sculpt Shaping Balm Contour Stick in Silhouette.  This is the easiest lazy girl contour product apart from me using liner for my nose.  Is pretty balmy, but pretty easy to blend, I think there's was only one situation of pilling, but honestly, the eyeshadow is on the older side, so I don't fault the balm.  I wish it had a brush at the end, but other than that 👍🏽👍🏽
2. Armani Beauty Luminous Silk Creamy Bronzing Powder , honestly this is HG.  Ever since the reformulation of the Nars bronzer, there's been a little bronzer hole in my heart.  This compact is huge, so it fills that hole.  It's more golden on me (110) at least that Nars.  It gives a study wash that behaves as my brontour at times
3. Ami Colé Soft Shape Waterproof Lip Liner in Café Touba & Midnight 🥲 These help define my lip line.  The work well even when the point is dull, but I get great lines with these and I'm privy to using Midnight for nose contour in occasion
4. Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Invisimatte Instant Setting + Blotting Powder This powder is pretty white, but I've noticed that if I want to highlight, it works really well and keeps things pretty matte.  I've dug into it so hard, I've managed to pan it.  It's good for wet things like concealer, too

@danielledanielle Ahhh I have been thinking about buying the Haus Labs contour stick for awhile... "Lazy girl" is speaking my language. It should totally come with a brush at the end. Gaga, are you listening??

@danielledanielle  I feel like contouring (and bronzer) is like my beauty white whale...I've just never gotten it 😅 One of these days (maybe next year?) I'll have to really make an effort to learn. The Haus Labs balm sounds like it might be a good one to try (lazy girl contour you say? 👀)...

@caitbird , I posted and tips in 🏫🎓BIC University 🎓🏫 , but honestly, just okay around when you can .  Lately I've been playing with blush placement, too.  Changes things up a bit without having to worry about being too precise.

Yeah, @missjeanie ...I was able to get a few things before the announcement because they had so much overstock.  In hindsight, I feel like that overstock was a part of the problem....

@danielledanielle, contour is on my list for 2026 (it was on the 2025 list but I took a detour 😅) and I'm happy to see the Haus Labs and Armani make your list. 😍 Do you have specific brushes you like pairing with those two products in particular?
