Monthly Favorites - November 2023
Happy November, BIC! I’m over here still waiting for that crisp, fall feeling to kick in (it’s still unseasonably warm here in California 😅), but there’s no denying that the Holiday szn is officially here -- ready or not! Speaking of which, I can’t wait to see what new goodies everyone picked up at the Sephora Savings Event earlier this month, if you shopped the sale! As for me, I managed to find a few new favorites in November, but mostly shopped my own stash to keep myself in check. It’s all about ~balance~ 😉.
Here are the products I’ve been loving this November:

Ahhh, those movie moments are aspirational goals for me @Westcoasty - lofty ones that never seem to pan out other than in my head. 🤣 Ackward is right! Depending on the day, I just give myself a gold star ⭐ for shaving my legs. lol Forget about them being perfectly shaved - thank goodness for pants! 👍
Is it bad that I looked at your list of nightstand notables and thought "ohhh, floss picks. I should put some on my nightstand?" 😅
@itsfi It's not bad at all! I'm happy to provide you with another aspirational moment. LOL
Is it bad that I've completely stopped shaving my legs, now that it's winter and nobody ever sees them?
Hahaha, not bad at all @Westcoasty, but to be completely transparent, that’s because I’ve subscribed to that approach before. 😝 Pants or thick tights made it so convenient.
@itsfi I hear you! Pants it is, until such time as I meet a guy worth shaving my legs for. LOL
Okay @Westcoasty, I've been good for 4 consecutive days with making sure to apply a lotion or oil soon after stepping out of the shower. +4 points?!! But minus -2 because on 2 of those occasions, I took longer, hotter showers. 😬 I know, I know; both were therapeutic and felt so nice though! 😊
@itsfi I say you get the full 4 points! Sometimes we need a hot shower to help our bodies feel better, so I'm still calling it a win those days. 😊
You are too kind @Westcoasty! 🤗 Oh yes, you called it. One of those days, I just let the water run and and run 🚿 - the heat and steam felt so good. This is a good motivator to go to the gym … to use the steam room, of course. Oh yeah, and maybe to use some of the equipment there too. There’s that. 😆
Those are a group of solid favorites @Westcoasty. 😀
Isn't L'Occitaine's Almond Shower is a total treat to any shower routine? It smells so good. 💙💛
I've been so curious about both of those products from GR. They sound pretty fantastic. How long have you been using them?
@CynthieLu Yes, I didn't try the almond shower oil for a long time, because I thought it would be greasy after rinsing, but it's amazing! So nice when the weather gets colder and dryer.
I've been using the Glow Recipe set for about a month now. It keeps my skin happy and comfortable, which I appreciate after my unfortunate reaction to Grown Alchemist. I'm not sure I'd buy them again, but in fairness, I'm not being as consistent with a daily skin care routine using them as I should be - the downside of not wearing makeup, I guess. 🙁
I think we just never know what's going to work or not for our skin. @Westcoasty ( I don't always take the time to do patch tests, but I know I should. Especially since I know my skin can be reactive at times.)
Ooh I know what you mean, falling out of a skincare routine, it's hard to get back into a consistent rythm. My skin reminds me thou lol. It gets red, patchy and angry if I don't take care of it. 😉
@CynthieLu Yes, once we get out of that habit, it can be tough to get back in for sure! I know I'm struggling in part right now because I have ADHD and the clutter in my bathroom isn't conducive to a self-care routine for my skin. But I'm moving next month (hooray! No more noisy neighbours above me), so my plan is to pack everything up and only unpack what I need. I'm really hoping that will let me keep my new place tidy, and that that in turn will let me get back to a regular skincare routine.
We know what we need to do. It's just getting it done that can be the challenge, right?! 😊
I wish you all the best of luck with your move! @Westcoasty 💕
Thank you, @CynthieLu ! I pick up my keys tomorrow. I'm very excited!!
This month has flown by! I have a few notable products that I’ve been absolutely loving this month❤️
I need to test the Kayali Burning Cherry when I go into Sephora next time. It sounds so good @cianni!
@faeriegirl They were not kidding with the name though - I get a very smoky/wood burning element to it, so if that’s your vibe you probably will like it! It has one of the better longevities of all the Kayali fragrances I’ve tried as well ☺️
@cianni That Kayali perfume is fantastic, I think to date it's one of my all time favorite cherry-scented fragrances. The TF Cherry Smoke is fantastic too. Recently got a sample of it though and genuinely love it, that's how they get you. 🍒 🤣
@QueenMarceline the samples always get me too! That’s how I ended up with KILIAN Paris Angels Share Eau de Parfum with Tonka Bean & Cinnamon 😩
@cianni Oooh, that's a good one too!
