Monthly Favorites: June 2023

It’s finally summer, BIC! But here in San Francisco, it hardly feels like it. 🌦 What’s my favorite way to counteract this June gloom, you might ask? Aside from splurging at Sephora (oops), this month I’ve enjoyed streamlining my hair routine with a fancy new tool, channeling summer vibes with a glowy SPF, gluing my unruly eyebrows down until I’ve reached lamination-worthy perfection, and brightening my complexion. I refuse to let my skin be as dull as this Bay Area weather. And with a little help from my new June faves, things are starting to look up… as far as my beauty routine is concerned, at least! 🌞

@AlexBT  Great favs!! I have been eyeing that Dyson Airstrait™ Straightener i think I need to add it to my collection! Is there any tricks to using it or is it pretty simple to use? Summer Fridays CC Me Vitamin C + Niacinamide Serum 1.0 oz/ 30 mL is one of my favs! I’ve also use PATRICK TA Major Brow Lamination Gel 0.17 oz/ 5 mL and your right it works good to glue down unruly brows!! Hope that the sun comes out and it’s not dull and rainy!

@ather It's still gloomy as ever over here but trying not to let it get to me! I'm going to Austin TX later this week and it's supposed to be over 100 degrees every day, so I'm sure I'll get more sun than I bargained for, lol. Be careful what you wish for, etc. etc. 😂

I also influenced @GeorginaBT to get one too (muahahaha) so we've been swapping tips! Overall it's pretty straightforward, but I find that certain little tricks do help. For example, brushing through the section of hair before you go over it with the Airstrait, making slow deliberate passes, and holding your section of hair in place at the bottom while the Airstrait works its way down, so the ends aren't blowing around and escaping while you're trying to straighten. I've only used it 2-3 times so far, so coming up with new tips as I go 🙂

Oh the Airstraight sounds fun! Do you have more thick hair or more fine?

@ather My hair strands are on the fine-to-medium side, but density-wise I have a LOT of hair! And I can get from wet-to-dry in under 30 mins!

I think my must have for the summer is the sos spray from tower 28 it’s protect me for  the redness and sun pimple don’t forget to wear sunscreen 😉 happy summer to everyone

My monthly favorites! It's been gloomy and I've been just kinda wearing minimal makeup on a regular basis. Some of these are repeats but I LOVE the new skincare:

Farmacy Brighten Up 3% TXA Dark Spot Toner with Azelaic Acid 4 oz / 120 mL this is life changing. Didn't realize TXA was skincare but it's amazing!

Farmacy Cleanse + Treat Duo Nighttime Routine for Clean, Smooth Skin picked this up during the memorial day sale. UHMAZING. I ordered like 2 more

INNBEAUTY PROJECT Green Machine Vitamin C Dark Spot & Hyperpigmentation Serum 1 oz/30 ml  another steal. So reasonably priced and my skin loves it.

#Kosas Brow Team Eyebrow Pencil + Eyebrow Gel Trio Set Soft Brown oldie but a goodie. 

MILK MAKEUP Pore Eclipse Mattifying + Blurring Makeup Primer with Niacinamide Translucent love this. Can't wait for it to shine during the coming heat

@jaaayp Thanks for sharing your fabulous faves! I have been tempted by the Farmacy blueberry set but never bit the bullet. I did, however, just buy the Farmacy Strawberry Shortcake Clean Makeup Meltaway Cleansing Balm 3.4 oz / 100 mL Strawberry Shortcake so I'm excited to give that one a whirl!

Also, I love Freck so much!

@CynthieLu as much as I enjoy the MILK MAKEUP Hydro Grip Hydrating Makeup Primer with Hyaluronic Acid + Niacinamide 1.52 / 45 mL , I can only use that during the winter because of my grease 😂😂😂 this one is "mattifying" but I think it's more blurring 🤔
