Beginning August 1st, 2024 at around 9am Pacific Time, the default Forum private message setting will be set to “OFF” for all members of the Beauty Insider Community. This means that all members of the Beauty Insider Community, including existing members who currently have their private messages turned on, will have their PMs defaulted to OFF on August 1st. Please visit account settings (the gear icon) on a desktop or mobile web browser to adjust your preferences.
Once private messaging is re-enabled after being toggled off by default, any previous message history will be restored. Going forward, new members joining Community for the first time will have their private messages turned off by default when they register, with the ability to visit account settings to adjust their preferences.

@Bxterfly @If you want members to be able to message you the check box in settings has to be on.
In case anyone’s having trouble finding this in their BIC settings, here’s how it looks in mine (using Chrome via iPadOS to visit Sephora’s website in desktop content mode):
To get there, click/tap Settings (gear icon beside the bell icon) > Preferences > Private Messenger
I can’t speak to the location in the Sephora app because I don’t use the app. But I assume it’s the same.

@keelybt Hello! I tried again. The email was 'OFF'. However, the PM was still 'ON'.
it’s the same for me too, and it doesn’t give me the option in my account settings about PM I can’t find it I don’t know if it’s cause it’s on

@peculiarzmakeup @Did you go to the gear next to the bell icon and click on preferences in the settings?
It may just be my app or on my device but I’ve only ever seen the bell and the message icon next to eachother. I can try on a desktop I just don’t have one at home. Thanks for always helping, I really appreciate it 😁💕 @SportyGirly125

When I click the envelope button, it just disappears and gives me an error. I'm not sure that it's working for me.
