fungal acne or closed comodones??

image.jpg

I’ve been dealing with these bumps for 5 years can anyone help? I’ve used Paula’s 2% exfoliating liquid in the past it’s enough to keep new bumps at bay but doesn’t do much for the old ones. I was using differing gel but I read somewhere that what I have is fungal so I stopped using it.

Re: fungal acne or closed comodones??

This looks really similar to a fungal infection! Since it’s been 5 years, it seems to match the most common symptoms of a fungal infection. The best way to deal with this is to get a good anti-dandruff shampoo and use aloe Vera as a moisturizer because it does dry out the skin. But always consult a dermatologist before trying anything new on your skin 😊 best of luck!

@cvparra03  The best way to know what you have is to see a dermatologist. A derm can give you a proper diagnosis and recommend personalized treatment. You could also ask your primary care doc, but derms specialize in skin.

I say this whenever someone suspects they have fungal acne, because that condition requires specialized care. If you do have fungal acne, there are ingredients you should avoid in all products that touch your face. That would include your hand creams/lotions, since we frequently touch our faces or rest our heads in/against our hands.

Also, little bumps could be a symptom of other things: bad reaction to a product/ingredient, stress, a different skin condition, etc. Unless there's a dermatologist among us BIC members, we won't be able to diagnose your condition. 🙂

Re: fungal acne or closed comodones??

It could be a heat rash. Please look it up online to see if your symptoms are similar. I get a similar rash on my face and hands during the warm/hot weather.
