SOS :(

I’m 27 and I never had an issue with acne until recently. Mine is hormonal, it’s along my jaw/ cheeks. I’m at my wits end with what to do or use.
Any time I had a pimple forming I would use the Peter Thomas Roth spot the treatment, which has sulfur in it. in the past I used the proactive spot treatment and it also contained sulfur. I would put it on a night or through the day and it would almost be gone or come to a head. The product is only available in an acne kit, I don’t know why the large individual one is not available
I’ve been using glow recipe blueberry bounce gentle cleanser, and about 2 months of the ordinary glycolic acid toner... I use it every 2-3 days in the morning. Should be noted that I only washed my face once a day usually at night after I removed makeup.
I’ve been washing it twice now 🙂

Then I would use the murad acne spot treatment which is salicylic acid, I don’t find salicylic acid works very well for me, not in comparison to the sulfur.
Next I would use the Peter Thomas Roth pro niacinamide because the breakouts are causing scars 😞

Then the ordinary Buffett only recently about a month( as i found online it’s a good barrier, and I have to wear a mask for 12 hours at work) and lastly I use tatcha water cream in the summer and mild climates and the dewy skin in the winter.
I just picked up benzoyl peroxide today for spot treatment and olay retinol.
There is so much information out there and I’m completely overwhelmed with what I need and when to use it.
My mood has been down and I’m at the point where I cry because I’m so frustrated.
I also hardly ever wear facial makeup maybe once every couple months.
Can anybody please help me with products, routine. @SkinCare @acne #theordinary #peterthomasroth #glowrecipe

Re: SOS :(

After my son I got hit with hormonal acne out of nowhere! But to add to the cerave comment I’ve been using the cerave acne foaming face wash. It’s has 4% benzoyl peroxide in it. I find salicylic acid didn’t do much for my skin on it’s own. I also heard from a dermatologist that spot treating with benzoyl peroxide isn’t beneficial it needs to be rubbed in all over to be effective. The mix of salicylic acid and  benzoyl peroxide really works for me followed up by a a good moisturizer! Good luck on your skin journey!

Re: SOS :(

I have the same problem! I have oily skin and i have acne similar to yours. I use cerave and  also love the Inky list brand sephora sells. The inky list cleanser and spot treatment have worked for me  The INKEY List Succinic Acid Treatment 0.5 oz/ 15 mL The INKEY List Salicylic Acid Cleanser 5 oz / 150 ml

Re: SOS :(

Hi @afancy ! Do you know your skin type?

Your routine sounds good, but I would change your cleanser. The Cerave Acne cleanser from the drugstore is amazing and affordable. If you start to notice any irritation from your toner, I might stop using it just because Glycolic Acid can be strong, so it depends on what your skin can handle. I also love the Proactiv spot treatment, but I recently got a miracle product! The StarFace pimple patches are my new holy grail. You put one on your pimple overnight or 6+ hours, and it helps so much! Especially for those painful jawline pimples.

Make sure you wear sunscreen every day, which will also help withj scars. I hope this helps!

Re: SOS :(

It use to be just dry; but since having to wear a mask for work, I’m a nurse, it’s wrecking havoc. I’ve used pimple patches and I do love them! They work really well, I just keep getting them back.
Should I get the ordinary salicylic mask? I was also thinking of getting the glow recipe pineapple serum and the hyaluronic plump serum as well.
It’s a never ending cycle and it’s worse with hormones 😞

Re: SOS :(

@afancy A those are great products, I’d check them out! 😊
