Rash from Tatcha purple cleanser

hello y’all I’ve had cystic acne for like ever - I’ve been on a binge to find a good cleanser, exfoliating, and moisturizer for my skin. I usually have oily skin but since I use differen at night and am on spirlactone it’s helped my skin soooo much , I’ve been using both for about 6-7 months now and my skins cleared . Now the problem is I was using cerave and wanted to switch to a better higher end moisturizer because my skins been getting drier, I’d wash my face morning/night, use Peter Thomas Roth drench, and then my differen, I recently bought that but it didn’t help moisturization too much, I went to Sephora picked up the tatcha purple rice face wash and I believe it’s caused me to breakout like this . I’ve never had this happen before . I need good recommendations for acne prone - dermatitis- very sensitive  skin . I have dermatitis that goes on my scalp to my chin / forehead area .

Hi!  I take spirocolatane too.  My dermatologist prescribed a sulfer cleanser and I think it helped a ton with my cysts.  I use that cleanser at night and then Cerave hydrating cleanser in the morning.  I use cetaphil lotion.  Def use a hydrating cleanser if using Differin.

Re: Rash from Tatcha purple cleanser

If you are using Differin please use a hydrating cleanser (simple hydrating cleanser, The Ordinary Squalane Cleanser, vanicream gentle cleanser, cera ve/cetaphil) and moisturizer to help with the sensitivity and dryness. Try something on the lines of neutrogena hydro boost gel cream or https://kravebeauty.com/products/great-barrier-relief. Stop using anything with  actives (aha's-bha's-retinol's etc ) to let your skin recover. Please dont forget to use SPF 30+.

Most important of all get in touch with your dermatologist.

Good Luck babe!!!

Re: Rash from Tatcha purple cleanser

Hey girl! So I use to have bad acne back in high school so I can relate to you. I recommend going super easy on your skin when washing since it is the most damaging part of a skincare routine. I recommend the inkey list salicylic acid cleanser since you do have very sensitive skin so it will wash off but still give you the benefit of the salicylic acid at night. For morning, I recommend more of a milky/jelly cleanser which will not strip your skin but more focus on hydration since all you did was sleep, something like Youth to the People spinach + green tea cleanser, herbivore pink cloud cleanser or krave beauty matcha hemp. As for treatments/ serums rather than focusing on getting rid of my acne since I also at one point had very sensitive skin like you, I focused primarily on fixing my skin barrier first and that changed my life. I hope this helps you!

Here is a list of treatments/serums I love to use together:

Nighttime:

the ordinary ascorbic acid + inkey list tranexamic acid

or

krave beauty great barrier relief + Kate Somerville delikate serum

or

Drunk elephant retinol

Daytime:

I always use the Peach Slices snail blemish busting toner and this is a lifesaver!

Youth to the people vitamin C + mandelic acid

or

The ordinary niacinamide + Azelaic acid (I only use azelaic acid on my trouble areas)

And throughout the day don’t forget to relayed sunscreen 🙂
