Mask of the Week Challenge!

Hello Lovelies! As we make our resolutions and check them twice, I thought we could start a skincare version of the Weekly Challenge. Many of us wanted to use more masks, shop our stash and focus on our Skin so hopefully this thread will be an inspiration to do just that. Join us with pictures and comments down below.

Masking Spreadsheet Info

Spoiler

Hello every, @eshoe and I are very happy to present the BIC Masking Challenge Spreadsheet. The idea is to have an easily searchable database of masks and reviews as a reference point when we are considering our next purchase. Data integrity was important to us so instead of everyone inputing data directly into the spreadsheet where theoretically information could be deleted or edited we have the questionnaire. It should take no longer then 1-2 minutes with the option for a more detailed review (which you can copy from your post on this thread).

Remember the idea is not to replace this thread. I personally love reading, commenting and interacting with all you amazing women here and that shouldn’t change. This would just be on top of that. Hopefully the more people that partake in this, the larger database of information we’ll have for reference. It will be extra effort in the beginning but then we would only need to input any new mask we’ve tried.

Additional Info:

Since we aren’t allowed to post links, please PM or myself for it. You will also find this information on the original post so you don’t need a database to search for this post!

Incase you need some help to filter/search results, try this :-

Search Specific Word or Phrase —> Edit -> Find and Replace -> Search Word

Filter/Organize by Columns --> Data -> Create a Filter -> Select Options

There are 2 ways to edit a response:

1) Once you have completed a survey, click on the "Edit Your Response" link on that page. Once this page is closed, the only way to make a change is to:

2) PM @Aaliaa or @eshoe to make the change directly in the response spreadsheet

Thanks @eshoe for putting this together!

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge!

Thank you @veronika23  I’m good 🙂 I’ll keep you posted about the long term results.

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge!

Thanks @fatimamummy  🙂

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge!

@fatimamummy, I have wondered about this product for a long time. The way you are instructed to apply it sounds like it could get messy. I haven’t used this powder but I wonder if the application process would be easier and less messy if you (1) scooped out some product and placed it in the palm of one hand and then (2) wet your index and middle fingers in the other hand and then dip them into the silver powder in the palm of the other hand and (3) then apply the powder to your face.

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge!

@itsfi  You bet I’m going to try every possible way to use it.

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge!

I’ve never tried this product @fatimamummy since it’s not for my skin type but I have to mention to you to never use a metallic object to scoop up or to mix the silver powder with water! Same thing with silver based creams. ( I learned this from pharmacy school )

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge!

Thanks for the tip @keana1  I didn’t know it.

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge!

You’re welcome @fatimamummy ! I just had to let you know so that your silver powder remained stable and could work, also because it wasn’t mentioned by the Mario Badescu brand! 😉

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge!

I never heard that @keana1. Why is that? Thx! 🙂

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge!

Metals ( except for gold, platinum and other noble metals ) inactivate silver’s benefits in skincare or prescription creams or bandages used to treat burns @veronika23 .

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge!

Oh... that's interesting. Thanks so much for that info @keana1! 🙂

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge!

You’re welcome @veronika23 😊 !

@fatimamummy ok that's definitely intriguing! wow I'll be...

@fatimamummy ok that's definitely intriguing! wow I'll be looking forward to hearing more about this one, I've never seen anything like this

Re: @fatimamummy ok that's definitely intriguing! wow I'll be...

@lmaster  Neither did I 😃 I’ll let you know if it actually works.

Re: @fatimamummy ok that's definitely intriguing! wow I'll be...

Please do @fatimamummy  😊

@fatimamummy this sounds similar to the tatcha rice enzym...

@fatimamummy this sounds similar to the tatcha rice enzyme powder. which I do love, you pour a bit into your hands, get it wet and manually rub it into your skin, this one I believe says to wait 5 min then rinse off. I do like the tatcha one, it makes my skin so soft.

Re: @fatimamummy this sounds similar to the tatcha rice enzym...

@lmaster  I have used Tatcha rice enzyme powder and liked it for a time but this one is very different. It is more finally milled without any texture, more like a powdery powder than a granulated powder. Also it isn’t supposed to be massaged or even applied on entire face just to pat it on the areas with congested pores.

Spoiler

Tony Moly Pandas Dream Eye Patch

These are bulky and round, black cotton eye patches, that encircle your entire eye – which I know would probably bother some people. They have eye flaps that you can either leave covering your eye while lying down, or pull down so you can see. I have never once laid down with a mask on, so I opted for them to be pulled down. They were soaking with serum and had no detectable scent. They were a little difficult to place and get situated, but once they were, they were pretty comfortable and adhered well. I took them off after about 15 minutes, when the part covering the eye brows started getting dry and peeling down. The serum leftover wasn't sticky or tacky and absorbed on its own fairly quickly. My eye area felt moisturized and comfortable, and my under eye circles had even lightened up slightly. I do like these and think they give pretty good results, but I don't think it's that necessary to have them covering your eye brows. Next time I wear these I'll probably fold them over, making them just thicker for the under eyes. Due to the fact they encircle the entire eye and the difficulty I had placing these, I'd probably give them a B grade. I will be happy to use up the ones I have, but probably wouldn't repurchase, because I have plenty other eye masks I enjoy more.

Soo'AE My Collagen Hydrogel Lip Patch

This is a thick, pink hydrogel lip mask with a good amount of serum and a delicious berry scent. This was easy to place, but if you moved your lips even the slightest bit, it would slide around. It was supposed to be on for 10-15 minutes, but after only about 5, they flopped off my lips on to the floor! Haha! These are the kind that are probably best worn underneath a face mask, just to help keep it on better. My lips did feel smooth and moisturized and had a very slight tingle – which makes me think they would help with plumping. I would like to try this one again, but next time I'll secure it under a face mask and see if it would stay put better. Since it fell off before the recommended time, I don't feel I can accurately grade it. It does seem like it has some potential though. 😉
