UPDATE: we have a winner! Dragon Fruit got the most votes of the two masks. Thank you to those of you who voted and helped Origins make this decision!
Sephora and Origins have partnered to give the Beauty Insider Community an exciting sneak peek at brand new, unreleased products from Origins. Origins has created two masks, Dragon Fruit and Ginger Kombucha, and we want to get your feedback on both. Here are details about each mask:
1. Working name: Dragon Fruit
2. Working name: Ginger Kombucha
Once you learn more about each mask we want to hear your opinions. Origins will be asking you to vote on their Instagram (@Origins) during their 3-day voting period from April 8 - April 10.
@SephoraBIC Thank you for the opportunity to try these masks!
I used Dragon Fruit tonight. Here are my first thoughts: The smell is light and fresh. Not overly perfumed. I love the shells and creamy texture. Now, when I applied this, I didn’t apply a thick layer like the woman in the photo above. It was very transparent with just a hint of pink. Was that not an efficient amount? Regardless, my skin felt like butter and had a sofy glow afterward. The shells gave my skin a nice and gentle exfoliation. After I rinsed it off, I applied my Missha First Treatment Essence, Dr Dennis Gross Ferulic+Retinol Eye Serum, Shiseido Benefiance Eye Cream, Luna and Good Genes. This is my normal night time routine. I didn’t experience any irritation or redness afterwards. I can’t wait to see how my skin looks and feels when I wake up in the morning! I think Origins hit a home run with this. I will definitely purchase a full size when it’s released!
@darlyndar I applied the same amount, you don't need a thick layer.
@darlyndar so glad you enjoyed the dragonfruit mask! Thank you for taking the time to review.
Thank you so much Sephora and Origins! I received my masks today 🙂
I tried the Dragon Fruit tonight and will come back tomorrow with first impressions.

@PrettyPaint Congrats on the gratis and it's only right if you had input on the selection!! Enjoy masking and can't wait for your opinion!!😊
@PrettyPaint thank YOU for helping us choose which mask to release!
@Thank you @SephoraBIC I was so psyched to receive the tester kit of these masks today!
I tried the Ginger Kombucha on my entire face tonight; I’ll use the Dragon Fruit when my skin is feeling dry, like after a day in the sun!
This is how my skin looks after double cleansing:
As you can see I have visible pores and some bumpiness going on.
The Ginger Kombucha mask has a creamy texture and a very faint, yet pleasant, scent. It spreads easily and isn’t messy to apply.
After a few minutes the mask feels tingly, which may be due to the ginger. It remains creamy, never drying down like a clay mask, so it was easy to rinse off. It left my skin feeling soft and silky, which I like!
Here’s my skin after rinsing everything off but before applying my evening moisturizer:
While I don’t see a huge difference to my skin’s texture right now, I hope to incorporate this product into my skin care rituals because it does make my face feel soft afterwards. I’ll report later if my face still feels as nice in the morning.
Quick update: my skin woke up happy today, and a red bump that was starting to emerge was significantly reduced. After my usual morning skincare regimen, everything continued to look good, which is a great sign, since introducing something new can have unexpected interactions with other products. My skin definitely retained a nice glow, and my makeup went on as smoothing as usual, so overall I'd say the Ginger Kombucha is a fun mask to use, and I'm so glad that the sample I received is generous enough to allow for at least four uses!
I'm glad you got to try the products, @LCResz! Thank you for your review and pictures!
@LCResz we really appreciate all the photos and detailed notes 🙂 thanks!
@LCResz Thanks for the pics and the information! I look forward to hearing your opinion on the Dragon Fruit mask!
Thanks @Ispend2much6! They are hard to tame, luckily I found an excellent threading salon so my brows always look like two separate entities and are no longer trying to meet up for a rendezvous in the middle of my face 🙃
Posting here, too! Thank you so much, Sephora and Origins, for sending me these masks. They both sound lovely. I just received them today and can't wait to try them out!
