Often people ask for recommendations on a skincare routine or for specific products/combinations. This might be a place to share your everyday skincare, both AM and PM. A skincare "what are you wearing" as it were. Hope this is useful.
*Age - 40
Skin type - oily/combination
Current skin condition - quite dehydrated (winter/indoor heating)*
01/17/16 - AM skincare in the order I used
1. Nude Jelly cleanser (love)
2. Pixi Glow tonic (5% glycolic toner - love)
3. Omorovicza Queen of Hungary Spritz (sample)
4. Radical Skincare Youth Infusion serum - hydrating and anti-ageing (new to me. Testing)
5. Bobbi Brown Hydrating Eye Cream (like)
6. Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine cream (really like as an AM moisturizer)
I will try to post PM skincare tonight so the post can be comprehensive.
General comments - Okay skin. Apparently the age between 38-42 is a transformational time in hormones (dehydrated skin/spots), so I am more aware of how my skin performs/reacts . My skincare definitely has more "actives" now than before.
Zip - I quite like P50. Salicyclic works well for me.
I especially used it today as I feel like a hormonal spot is having insidious thoughts- so I wanted to leverage the Lactic & Salicyclic acid and Sulphur.
If Salicylic is a trigger - don't risk it on your face. Maybe do a patch test closeby?
P.S: I think it has much more lactic than salicylic. So it might be usable...but do test.
This AM
Nude Cleansing Jelly with warm wet washcloth
FAB Radiance pads
Benton Aloe Toner
Fresh lotus eye cream
Fresh Rose hyrdating serum
Fresh Lotus Cream
IT Cosmetics spf 50 cc cream
Last night -
Remove makeup w Body Shop Camomile oil cleanser and wet washcloth
Boscia Tsubaki cleansing oil gel
Benton aloe toner
Fresh lotus eye cream
Boscia cool blue hydrating essence
NUDE milk on areas that get flakey with the retinoid
Rx differin .1% cream
Belif Moisturizing bomb
Not much of note in skincare - the usual.
Skincare thought for the day
For those experiencing extreme dehydration/winter skin, do consider a small humidifier. I myself wouldn't have even thought of it if I weren't so desperate. I have a chronic dry eye condition that has been awful this winter mostly due to indoor heating/space heater overload.
The humidfier has greatly helped my eyes and my skin has benefitted as well. I keep one in my office as I spend most of my day there. It might be worth a look.
I have dry eyes too (due to medical treatment), which are made worse by the heater. I use Genteal severe dry eye relief gel. It is a light gel that comes in a tube. You squeeze out a little into your eye. It helps coat and moisturize your eyes and protect them overnight. It prevents my eyes from sticking to my eyelids and getting little scratches on my eyes when I open my eyes which hurttttt.
roseps - I have singlehandedly kept Genteel stock up for years 🙂
Contacts lens usage created my dry eyes which were worsened after I got lasik (although manageable). In fact, I had both my tear ducts plugged to keep more tears on the eye.
I use the moderate to severe eye drops on a daily basis, and the eye gel on days it is really bad.
Age: bleh
Skin: combo-dry and reactive; currently experiencing a bit of uneven texture
01/31/16 - PM
30's, Normal-Dry skin. Slightly drier this time of year.
AM: Most of the time I just use water in the morning, unless I used a retinol the night before.
1. Obagi Cleanser
2. If I wash with cleanser I will then use Revision Skincare Soothing Facial Rinse after I get out of the shower.
3. Vi Derm Complete Care
4. Vi Derm Vitamin C Serum
5. Elta MD Sunscreen or Radical Sunscreen
PM:
1. Origins Clean Energy
2. Jan Marini Bioglycolic Wash or Drunk Elephant JuJu Bar. On the days I use a retinol I will use Epionce Cleansing Milk
3. Every other day, or every 2 days I will use Skinmedica or TNB Retinol.
4. Neocutis Hyalis
5. Vi Derm Complete Care
01/20/16 - PM Skincare:
Today I start "trialing" a new product - Dr.Brandt 3D Filler Mask (courtesy of Sephora). I will make a seperate thread about it for those interested.
1. Cleanse w/Tatcha Camelia cleansing oil
2. Acid exfoliate w/DDG Extra Strength Peel pads
3. Tata Harper Brightening serum
4. Algenist Genius anti-ageing eye cream (deluxe sample) - I have used the other one in the ALgneist line (in the white pot). Lets see how I like this.
5. Dr. Brandt 3D Filler Mask - applied in inverted from cheek bones to jaw (straight down my mouth).
6. Sjal Kuri Intuitif Intense Moisturizer- I waited 15 minutes for the Dr.Brandt mask to set and then applied Sjal moisturizer over it.
This sounds all very complicated, but it wasn't so bad. All products I used today I love - Dr.Brandt Mask is the only new item. I don't have wrinkles, but I am testing if this mask will improve hydration as it promises.
AM
First Aid Beauty Blemish Pads
SunBum Clear Zinc Oxide
Herbivore Lapis Facial Oil
PM
Drunk Elephant Pekee Bar
Karuna Clarifying Face Mask
Dr. Jart Water-Fuse Overnight Mask
Does anyone know if facial oil should go over or under physical sunscreen? I know usually it goes over chemical but I couldn't find much on physical sunscreen.
I've always been told under. The physical sunscreen is creating an actual barrier so absorption afterwards isn't as good and depending on how much oil you put it on it might water down or interfere with the sunscreen....
26, dry/dehydrated, moderately sensitive with redness
1/30 AM
40, oily/combo, dehydrated. Doing well.
It was a late night last night - but I opted to do a more long winded process to pamper tired skin.
1/29/16 - PM Skincare:
1. Nude Omega Jelly Cleanser
2. Tata Harper Resurfacing mask (I leave on for 30min)
3. Tata Harper Brightening concentrate serum
4. Sjal Kura Intuitif Intensive Hydrating cream - good stuff
5. Kate Somerville Age Arrest eye cream (sample) - I don't use KS products after a disappointing experience many years ago. The products have evolved quite a bit, so I got a few samples to give it another shot.
I did a quick massage when applying face cream as well as eye cream.
1/30/16 - AM Skincare:
1. Water cleanse - warm washcloth
2. Pixi Glow tonic
3. Su-Man Velvet Brightening Serum
4. Sjal Intensive hydrating cream - I use this usually at night, but I wanted some extra hydration today.
5. Kate Somerville Age Arrest eye cream (sample)
Age: 26
Skin type: combo/oily tzone
Currently: dry, congested, angry at me for not properly washing at night

Boscia tsubaki cleansing oil gel
Benton Aloe Toner
Fresh lotus eye cream
PTR Camu Camu serum
Fresh Rose hyrdating serum on dry areas
Fresh Lotus Cream
IT Cosmetics spf 50 cc cream - sample - I liked this today for light coverage and spf in one easy application. I'll have to try it for longer to make sure it doesn't cause breakouts but seems like a good product for no makeup days. Was easier to blend into my skin than the PTR camu camu cc cream.
PM -

laketom,
I will start testing the Dr.Brand filler mask tonight (Sephora generously sent me one to try). I would be keen to exchange notes with you 🙂
1/29 p.m.
skin seems and feels very happy today !
CLINIQUE take the day off balm
REN rosa centifolia hot cloth cleanser (in shower)
REN glycol lactic radiance mask (the best mask peel)
SHISEIDO eudermine revitalizing essence
SANTA MARIA NOVELLA orange blossom water spritz
HYLAMIDE low molecular HA booster serum
CLARINS blue orchid facial oil
CAUDALIE premier cru cream
i love that the premier cru cream is a nice rich very hydrating and nourishing proper cream that does not contain shea butter. shea typically breaks me out, so most night creams are off limits for me. i have a deluxe sample of this and it's a real treat.
i think the REN glycol lactic radiance renewal mask is quite literally a perfect product.
You look like a goddess!
You know, I think the REN mask might be breaking me out. Is it possible it could do that? (As in Ive used it once or twice and suspected it caused a breakout I had the next day)
