Often people ask for recommendations on a skincare routine or for specific products/combinations. This might be a place to share your everyday skincare, both AM and PM. A skincare "what are you wearing" as it were. Hope this is useful.
*Age - 40
Skin type - oily/combination
Current skin condition - quite dehydrated (winter/indoor heating)*
01/17/16 - AM skincare in the order I used
1. Nude Jelly cleanser (love)
2. Pixi Glow tonic (5% glycolic toner - love)
3. Omorovicza Queen of Hungary Spritz (sample)
4. Radical Skincare Youth Infusion serum - hydrating and anti-ageing (new to me. Testing)
5. Bobbi Brown Hydrating Eye Cream (like)
6. Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine cream (really like as an AM moisturizer)
I will try to post PM skincare tonight so the post can be comprehensive.
General comments - Okay skin. Apparently the age between 38-42 is a transformational time in hormones (dehydrated skin/spots), so I am more aware of how my skin performs/reacts . My skincare definitely has more "actives" now than before.
I just checked and it looks like the only 2 places I can get that from in Canada are direct from Pixi or Cult Beauty.
Next time I place an order with Cult I'll grab a bottle to test out.
Ahhhh... ok, that makes more sense, LOL.
No, I haven't. After I started getting so many hormonal breakouts last year when I stopped taking B/C, I started using a toner. Prior to that I used to skip straight to exfoliating pads like FAB/Radical.
How do you apply the May Coop Raw Sauce? I've been using a cotton pad but feel like I'm wasting some of the product that way.
Straight on my hands, and then tapped on my face 😉
cotton pad is a waste.
I figured the cotton pad is a waste - Thanks!
It feels so much nicer applied straight to your skin than with a cotton pad, too!
I just tap it into the palm of my hand and rub it on 😛
Age - 26
Skin type - Normal/Dry
Current skin condition - Dehydrated
Environment: Very humid (FL) w/ hard water.
Today, AM:
1. Clarins Extra Comfort Cleansing Cream
2. Tata Harper Regenerating Cleanser
3. Cremorlab Mineral Treatment Essence
4. Banila Co. Miss Flower & Mr. Honey Essence Oil
5. Rodial STEMCELL Super-Food Facia
6. Omorovicza Queen of Hungary Mist
7. Innisfree Orchid Eye Cream
9. Kate Somerville Goat Milk
10. SKIN AQUA SARAFIT UV Sunscreen Spray SPF50+ PA+++
Layne - I have the Tata Harper Regenerating Cleanser but I have been a bit underwhelmed. I used it only a couple of times, I might try it again.
I finished my sample of the Omorovicza Mist. Of all mists that I have tried, this has been the nicest so far. Not sure yet if I care to get the full size. How do you like it?
I'm also not the biggest fan of the cleanser. It smells nice but that's about it. I try and use it 1x a week.
I absolutely love my Omorovicza mist! I really want to get the limited edition one.
23- Combination/oily (with a wicked T Zone) At the moment, since Louisiana decided to be winter like the rest of the country, my skin is finally not as oily as it was earlier this winter.
Routine:
PM
Bosica Clear Complexion Cleanser
Peter Thomas Roth Irish Moore Mud Purifying Mask (3 times a week not nightly)
Fresh Seaberry Oil
(any sample of overnight mask I have :D)
AM
Bosica Clear Complexion Cleanser (will never change this)
Umbrian Clay Mattifying Mask
Umbrian Clay Oil Free Lotion
After I finish exercising, I do the same routine but Use Fresh Rose Mask to calm down my skin. And for exfoliation from time to time I use Philosophy Microdelivery Exfoliating Wash.
32 - dry sensitive skin with dark spots
1/18/16 - AM
1) Herbivore Pink Clay Soap Bar - last time I'm using this for my face as it doesn't do anything for me
2) Indie Lee XoQ10 Toner
3) Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry Touch Sunblock
1/18/16 - PM
1) Olay Daily Facial Cloth - was feeling lazy to remove my makeup so I used this. Totally regretted it later as I could still feel some makeup on my face.
2) Dior Eye Makeup Remover - this is not a good product at all but somehow I had a full sized bottle and I am desperate to finish it
3) REN Rosa Centifolia Hot Cloth Cleanser - looove this stuff but HATE the packaging. I had to perform surgery on the bottle just to be able to use it.
4) May Coop Raw Sauce
5) ELF Soothing Serum
6) ELF Daily Hydration Moisturizer
7) Farmacy Lip Bloom - I've been using this instead of my first love, Vaseline, overnight and it's been working quite well.
Aw really? That stinks. I can still use it but since I got the lip bloom I thought I'd give it a go overnight and it works really well.
PM January 18 2016
Age: 26
Skin type: combination, hormonal, reactive
Concerns: trying to soothe after a horrific breakout from using Luna, hyperpigmentation
didnt wear makeup today so only 1 cleanse
FAB face wash
Fresh rose mask ~ 30 min
Nude progenius treatment oil * first time using this, wish me luck
Nude moisturizer
La Mer eye cream sample...it doesn't seem to do anything spectacular to justify its price...
* I usually use Caudalie poly phenol C serum, but trying a less is more thing today. Also, should I add a toner? suggestions welcome
Haley - a toner would definitely work well for you. I would even suggest an gentle acid toner. This will help with your breakouts as well.
FAB pads are quite nice - gentle but effective, and a good price point too. You can use the FAB pad after you wash your face, and then continue with the rest of your routine.
Also, regarding the Caudalie serum - if it doesn't irritate your skin and works for you, I would continute using it. The anti-oxidants and Vit C will be helpful.
Unfortunately my skin didn't care for Luna as well, so I feel your pain.
They do sound nice and I didn't know they were a toner so to speak, I always thought toners were the liquids you use with cotton rounds so I'll def try this!
Definitely use a toner to remove any residue from your face wash (the FAB feels like softsoap). I prefer Thayer's lavender to both clean up, moisturize a tad with aloe, and calm down my skin before layering up moisturizer. There are lots of options out there, but Thayers is pretty easily found.
I would try this but I don't like lavender I'll check if they have other versions though, thanks!
Great thread! Im so nosy I love hearing about peoples personal routines and hope to pick up some tips for my skintype routine! Thanks for starting this greenchilli!
1/18 PM
- nude purify cleanser
- pmd microderma treatment
- rinse w/water
- nude toner
- nude omega milk on any areas of irritation
- farmacy eye dew
- Sunday Riley flora
- sample of may lindstrom blue cocoon balm
- Clinique moisture surge intense on my neck area
- whatever lip balm is on the night stand
Normally I double cleanse, but I didn't wear makeup today and I try not to double cleanse when I'm using the PMD. Also on the nights I use it, I finish with a more nourishing oil like Flora, as well as the NUDE milk. I usually use an exfoliating pad or other acid, but won't on nights I use PMD.
I'm pretty convinced blue cocoon does nothing for me, but I thought I'd finish my sample.
This was my AM routine today:
I forgot to mention the Sephora Konjac sponge last time I posted, love that thing!
SKII Treatment Oil Cleanser, followed by Konjac sponge
Koh Gen Do Oriental Plants II
Chanel Hydra Serum
Ole Henriksen Truth Serum
Clarins extra firming day
REN Vita Mineral Emmolient rescue cream
Fresh age delay eye cream
