Cleansing balm

I recently tried a sample of It bye bye makeup cleansing balm and loved it. I have also read great reviews of Farmacy cleansing balm. Have any of you tried both and have a preference?

Cleansing balm

Just to note there are polyethylenes in a lot of cleansing balms and they are not the same that are in household plastics or even microbeada that you find in some physical exfoliants. The ones in cleansing balms tend to be a liquid and cosmetic grade so they have a different impact on the environment and your skin (not no impact I just haven't found a study that shows long term impact yet!) Just something to keep in mind. I personally haven't used either farmacy or It cosmetics and my next cleansing balm to try is the Glow Recipe Papaya Sorbet Enzyme Cleansing Balm - it just came out like last week though so just waiting for some more reviews to come up!

Re: Cleansing balm

@meou have you try the Papaya one balm?

Im also curious about it because some time soon i will need to get some.

I have tried: Clinic take the day off = Didnt like it at all, the Pharmacy Green one = I like it but it still annoys my eyes a bit, but not like the Clinic one thats really bad.

Im curious about the Papaya one because i think its a bit cheaper, but also i would like to know if it does that thing in the eyes, what i mean by that is that i mostly use the balm to disolve waterproof mascara, and when some of it gets in the eyes it can give a discomfort, and so please let us know what you think 🙂

Re: Cleansing balm

@Emy10  The Glow recipe Papaya balm is fantastic. It doesn’t irritate my eyes like the Farmacy balm did. Another good one is The Inkey list oat cleansing balm.

Re: Cleansing balm

Thank you for your input @faeriegirl  🙂

A few years ago i got a reaction with Aveeno so idk about the oat ingredient, but im glad you said that the Papaya Glow Recipe one is even less annoying to the eyes.

It's not that bad, bad is Clinique Take the Day Off, that stuff stings!!

Also, I bought the Almay -long wear- makeup remover wipes and pads, I'll let you guys know if they're good soon 🙂

Re: Cleansing balm

@Emy10 I haven't tried the papaya cleansing balm yet - I really like K-Beauty products for things like this because they are a bit cheaper. I haven't been wearing a lot of make up lately to truly be able to test their effictiveness though.

Re: Cleansing balm

Lol ok, there was a post i just read, and i think it was spam because it was the same exact post someone posted about wrong information about plastic being in products. The mods must have deleted it because i read it and its just gone lol, good job mods and thank you

Re: Cleansing balm

@Emy10 if you have sensitive eyes I would get a sample of the Glow Recipe balm first.  Sephora has a promo code to try it right now with purchase or you can see if your local store has a packet sample of it.  I have it as well as the Drunk Elephant one and don't have any irritations with it.  Maybe you can try something else for around your eye area to get the waterproof products off.

Re: Cleansing balm

@SportyGirly125 i got the sample of the Papaya one with my recent purchase, also just a heads up, im pretty much up to date with stuff i really... Really need, i might dissapear from this website for a while, because i spend too much.

If i really like the Papaya balm, i might get it after im out of the Farmacy Green one i got, i got a deluxe sample, and as i said its alright, way better than the Clinic one, that one stinged my eyes, the Farmacy one is better, but idk, so when i try the Papaya sample ill let you guys know.

Apart that im good with shampoos and other things, so yep, that might be a last purchase for a while.

Sephora and all this is addictive, and i need to save money for real, lol life

OH almost forgot, i already tried some micellar water to dissolve mascara, but it didnt work, i guess i didnt try good ones, any thoughts??

Re: Cleansing balm

@Emy10 micellar water won't be enough to take out waterproof makeup or mascara.  I use Bioderma Sensibio but still need to go in with wipes or a cleansing balm to get everything off.

Re: Cleansing balm

@SportyGirly125 yes, ill tell you what i tried so far:

makeup wipes:

-Simple, St-Yves (i swear those are the BEST make up wipes, Neutrogena irritates my skin, while Simple didnt sting like Neutrogena, but made my skin pinkish, St-Yves do none of that, but they arnt enough.

I also tried the Burt's Bees Kiwi pads, and they are for the eyes too, but the smell was so strong i didnt want to continue using them, and they were not good either anyway,

As for a cold cream, i have the Pond, but it says its not safe for the eyes, we dont have the fragrance free one in store here IDK WHY lol, i feel like trying it but i wont, because it says its not safe lol

Pharmacy Green makeup dissolver, its ok, but still requires some rubing and i dont like that...

What im thinking to try some time soon:

-No Tears Baby Shampoo (said to use a small amount on a pad and to be carefull, that might work really well),

-No.7 Wipes (this is a good brand, i been wanting to get these, so next time im near Shoppers, i will grab a bag lol,

-Marcelle Make up Remover (i tried one of theyre light hydration cream once and it was refreshing, so who knows),

-Almay make up remover pads (Underrated brand that people MUST check out because its gentle and also for aging skin).

Heres the my PLAN ***supense music***, i will get the stuff from the brands i already like, so Almay, No.7 and Marcelle if i dont like the first 2. Then might try the other ones over time. End of Plan. ***music stops*** lollllll 😉

Any thoughts ?

Note: I had to edit because Sephora didnt like when i said ''i will s-n-a-t-c-h a bag, had to use grab instead lolll

Re: Cleansing balm

@Emy10 @Most of what you listed I haven’t tried except for Neutrogena wipes. If you have stuff that works for you I wouldn’t change a thing.

Re: Cleansing balm

@SportyGirly125 lol YO, in my case, Neutrogena is BAD, none of theyre products works well with my skin, i have sensitive skin yes, but NONE of theyre sensitive skin products works and still irritate me skin.

I should work for No.7 or Almay, those 2 brands are great, hopefully theyre eye remover products works 🙂

Re: Cleansing balm

Hey! Both of those cleansing balms has polyethylene. This is a plastic and over time it enhances your pores and builds up (not to mention bad for the environment for the part that washes away). The cleansing balm that I use is the drunk elephant melt away cleansing balm. it is so great and does not leave my skin feeling stripped like the pharmacy one. another dupe for the dunk elephant balm is the burst bees cleansing balm!
