NEW!!! Got an idea for next year's challenge? Let me know! Was there a challenge you'd rather not repeat? Share below, so we can start building the 2021 schedule:
Lovely presentation @itsfi Too bad yogurt mask isn’t what it should be but good thing blueberry one turned out a keeper.
Thank you @fatimamummy! 🤗 It would have been great if they were both winners for my skin, but the sheet mask performed so well it made me forget about the other mask until it came time to post about it! 😆
@itsfi I’m glad at least one of the blueberry masks worked for you! I’ve seen the CVS mask in-store but never investigated it. Now I’m curious to see all its ingredients, so if I see it again I’ll take a look.
I think Riley Rose used to carry Peripera masks. I realize that info’s unhelpful since all Riley Rose locations were closed and folded into Forever 21, which is sad because my local RR carried lots of K-beauty brands (like Peripera’s makeup line) and, of course, some fun masks. But they’re the only physical location I can think of that (I think) ever carried those masks. I wish they were easier to find, without having to go the eBay route.
@WinglessOne, I’ll try to remember to upload a pic of the ingredients list from the back of the mask when I get home tonight.
@itsfi Looks like another delicious masking session! Sorry the CVS mask didn't work out! It sounds like one I'd pass on, but would definitely be one that'd lure me in 😉
Glad you liked the Peripera mask! It's a favorite of mine and I really wish it was easier to find!
@Shosh85, the Peripera blueberry smoothie mask is a top performer in my book! 🏆 It more than made up for the CVS one, which I had high hopes for; it’s alright - the ones that don’t work out just make me appreciate more the ones that do! 😊
@itsfi that second one sounds amazing! Will definitely have to hunt for that! And both really made me want a smoothie
@Kim888, it was so good! 😃 I’ve tried my fair share of sheet masks and I was super impressed by this one! 😍
@itsfi ohh I'm so sorry to see that wash off mask had an artificial strong scent with questionable ingredients for you 😣
Thank you @lmaster; it’s all good. You win some, you lose some. 😉 Now I know. The blueberry sheet mask was amazing l.
P = Pink Squeeze, the Papa Recipe Bombee Fruitables mask that smells good enough to eat. Or drink. Since I also have several varieties of Bombee Fruitables expiring in May, I’ll use some of them this week.
Notes:
Ingredients: I like that sodium hyaluronate is the 6th ingredient, followed immediately by all the fruit extracts, a ceramide, a skin soother, and a hydrator. I wish red algae (chondrus crispus powder) was listed a bit higher up, but I like that it’s here at all.
Performance: I love the scent of this mask. To me, it smells like lychees, peaches, and a grapefruit in a blender. I definitely don’t mind lightly smelling them during 20-30 minutes of masking. Like most Bombee Fruitables masks, this one’s almost the perfect length and a good width for my face, requiring just some mouth hole widening and a little strategic scrunching to keep the eyeholes from covering my inner corners. The Fruitables sheets are so thin, I can easily tear the mouth hole a bit, rather than use scissors. The sheet stays stuck to my face and starts to feel like it’s given all it’s got at the 28 minute mark.
My only issue with this mask is the pilling I get after removing the sheet and massaging or patting all the serum into my skin. I have the same problem with Yellow Squeeze but to a worse degree: the Yellow Squeeze serum never seems to sink into my skin. The Pink Squeeze serum does, so I don’t get as much pilling—but still enough that I must gently wipe my face with a damp cloth (usually the same one I used to rinse cleanser off my face) to remove the pills.
Results: Unlike with Yellow Squeeze (which I dislike), my skin feels plumply hydrated after Pink Squeeze. It doesn’t look immediately brighter once I’ve massaged in the serum and de-pilled my face, but it does feel better. I don’t notice any brightening until after I’ve applied my moisturizers. That and the delicious scent are enough to keep me using the rest of my Pink Squeeze stash. I don’t go out of my way to find this one; when I see boxes at TJ Maxx or Marshalls, I sometimes buy one. Pink Squeeze is an 86, maaaybe an 87, on the wine tasting scale. If it didn’t pill at all, it’d be an 88 or 89. The yummy scent makes me want to rate this a 90, but I have other masks that are more hydrating and “vitalizing” than this one.
For the record, my favorite Bombee Fruitables is Red Squeeze. I’m all out of them, but I think Masksheets still has them so I might place an order soon.
Happy to know all of the sheets are on the thinner side, @WinglessOne - my skin takes to those so well! I am a latecomer to the Bombee game so it’s fun to read about everyone’s experiences. I’ve tried a handful and they have all been superb. I like how this one sounds, the scent especially.
@WinglessOne I don't recall any pilling right away,,, in going to have to pay closer attention, I might be pilling later after I apply moisturizer. I'm using a few of these this week,,idk if I have yellow, or if I've even tried yellow 🤦 there's so many versions of this mask, and two I didn't even know existed lol
@lmaster Since you so graciously sent me some Green Squeezes (thanks again!), I can say I’ve tried all 7 versions. This is the only mask line I’ve felt compelled to collect each version of, for some reason. 😄 I’ll be very interested to hear if any of these cause pilling for you.
Also, I can probably send you some of the ones you haven’t tried yet—except Red Squeeze, because I’m all out of those (but I have a new box coming my way). 😉
I didn't even realize how many different versions there were 🤦 @WinglessOne the purple and the red ones are the versions I didn't know existed 💜♥️
Thanks for this review @WinglessOne! So far I've used Orange, Yellow, and Green (this morning) and yesterday I did get some pilling on my neck and nose. I wondered if it was the mask or a combo of things (I should have waited longer between skincare steps). I appreciate corroboration.
@ShortErica Ah, so it’s not just me! I’m also trying to figure out if the problem is not waiting long enough between skincare steps to let the serum sink in. Do you apply many products before the mask? I’ve toyed with that, too, in case the mask serum simply doesn’t play nice with one of my pre-mask products.
I really do think my skin flat-out rejects the Yellow Squeeze serum, though. 😄 That one pills so much on my whole face, I might as well wash my face a second time to remove all traces of it.
My pilling was very manageable and confined @WinglessOne. I've been cleansing in the shower (CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser) then applying the mask on a dry face. After I've applied The INKEY List Hyaluronic Acid (HA) Hydrating Face Serum 1 oz/ 30 mL, The INKEY List Caffeine De-puffing + Dark Circle Eye Cream 0.5 oz/ 15 mL and a variety of moisturizers - First Aid Beauty Repair Cream, CeraVe Baby Moisturizer, Drunk Elephant Lala Retro™ Nourishing Whipped Refillable Moisturizer 1.69 oz/ 50 mL since I've been using some samples. After that I apply Nivea Water Protect SPF 50 PA+++. So only cleanser before the mask. Hope that helps! I didn't have time for masking this morning so I plan to do one tonight and see how long I can wear it and see if getting more to absorb makes a difference.
@WinglessOne I bet a fruit drink like that would be delicious! Glad this one turned out nice for you! I think these masks are all pretty great 😃👍
