Each week features a different theme, as well as a letter of the alphabet for coming up with new masking ideas. Feel free to post as frequently or infrequently as you would like, with or without following the challenge; they are guidelines and just something we do for fun. We love hearing about every masking experience, and suggestions are always welcomed!

Please include the brand and name of the mask you are trying out, as well as a photo if possible. Any other details are greatly appreciated, including scent, if it's an exfoliating mask (include acid info if known), your overall experience, and whether or not you would repurchase. Don't forget to include a grade (thanks to @ShortErica for the idea) to help others along the way.

Mask Hacks - Here are a few to get started thanks to our lovely BIC-ers, a big thank you for these fabulous ideas!

Trim off long chin and add to forehead for sheet masks	itsfi
Squeeze tube lip balms (like Bite) into pans and place in magnetic palette	sonnydee
Layer lip sleeping mask (such as Laneige) over regular balm	cianni
Derma plane prior to a peel-off mask to ease the pain of removal	heartsmyface
Warm water helps remove clay masks quicker than cold	cianni
Lay sheet masks flat prior to use so the serum is more evenly distributed	eshoe

@quspork this was a great matchup, LOVE it! I tried that MB Rose Hips one while ago and remember being heartbroken when I opened it - don't need another kaolin mask lol. The Inistree mask sounds nice, I'm always interested in masks that mimic the Fresh Rose one. Thanks for the reviews, this was awesome!

Yes, that MB was so not what I was expecting, @eshoe! I'd definitely recommend the Instree as a dupe for the Fresh (which has always been a favorite).

@quspork, Love your theme! I'm glad you posted about an Isntree product. I've wondered about the brand since I saw Gothamista talk about it on one of her YT videos. The name seems similar to Innisfree.

Yes, the first time I heard about it, I kept getting it confused with Innisfree, @itsfi! I'm really  interested in trying more from the brand. They make some mugwort products which aren't always easy to find but I love that ingredient. Have you had the chance to try any of their things yet?

Week 26 - June 24 - 30 - Z - Masking Duel

I had a small pimple forming that disappeared overnight but Saturday morning I still opted for the for Oozoo black space pore caring mask.

Bear 2 said "your wish is my command" since this one did not have a protective sheet and unfolded easily on its own. I did have a much more difficult time popping the ear with this bear though.

The mask was a better fit though I still had to do some smooshing. I appreciated that this mask had a better philtrum thickness and wasn't quite as wide. I think my sample size is 2 but do all black masks tend to have a better fit than the sheer/white cotton counterparts? If so, I should consider this when buying more masks. I did 30 minutes with this mask too and the center was drier than the other bear but not completely dried out.

Like the Yadah pore care (the other black mask I used), there was something nice about my face. Fresh maybe? Youthful? I also felt like it was a bit plumper too. I noticed sodium hyaluronate in the ingredients so that makes sense to me.

At this point I got distracted by kids. I did make sure to touch my face and this one didn't have tackiness for me. By the time I went to put on a little makeup I completely forgot about moisturizer and my face seemed fine without it.

To be truthful, I think my expectations were lowest for this mask and it did a great job. A grade for sure. Maybe pore care masks and my skin get along well? Another experiment for me and a reason to buy more masks.

Lastly, I didn't smell a scent with this one either. Am I losing my sense of smell? I didn't smell the nutty Yadah and now nothing prominent from either bear which has fragrance in it. I will totally take no smell but am curious what others think they smell like.

@ShortErica the first few times I used detox charcoal sheet masks I was surprised; I guess I just didn't expect a black mask. They are some of my favorites now, they do seem to 'hug' your face, it's like comfort food for your skin.

I am looking forward to trying the Pore Care mask again, thank you for sending it to me 🙂

@ShortErica Happy to hear you liked this one! I thought it was nice - just didn't see any remarkable results, but that could be because I don't really have a pore problem to begin with. It also seemed to make me a little drier than the other two.... so it's a, "it's not you, it's me," kind of thing. 😉

It does seem like the black masks I've tried have had a near perfect fit, which seems so interesting to me! 🤔🧐

@Shosh85 obviously the purpose of Aurora is brightening and it did but something about this mask made me think my face looked good. I'm the odd man out liking the black pore best. I'm a weirdo 🤪

@ShortErica If we're really talking "weird," I'm pretty positive I've got you beat by a long shot! Haha! 😂 For real though, I think it's just a difference of skin type - my dry/dehydrated skin normally feels on the drier side when using pore/detoxifying products. 😃
