Welcome to the 2024 Masking Challenge!
This year is going to be a little different - simplified. Easy. Every month will have a new theme, and that's it. Feel free to join in whenever and wherever. Most importantly - have fun!
Spring Fling - Baskets and bouquets, showers of much-anticipated rain...this month's focus is herbal and floral sensory delights ๐ฎ
January | Fresh Starts - Time for a re-set, or morning masking? However you see it, this month is all about new beginnings. |
February | Winter Love - Whether it's a mask you adore, or something extra-special to care for dry winter skin, this month is for some soothing TLC. |
March | March Madness - Competition is in the air! Find a $ dupe of a $$$ mask that is share-worthy? Or find a dupe that works even better than the original? Details, please! |
April | Spring Fling - Baskets and bouquets, showers of much-anticipated rain...this month's focus is herbal and floral sensory delights. |
May | Dew Drops - May Day lore says to wash your face in the dew you collect in the morning of the first day of May for radiant skin. This month is for absorbing all of that good-for-you H2O. |
June | Summer Sunshine - Ice cream, sunglasses, SPF, check! Once the sun is down (or before it's up), extra care is most necessary. How do you give your skin cooling repair? |

Thank you @Aaliaa for starting this thread, and giving us a place to share our love for masks๐
@ather fantastic! I will toss it in my cart.
@ather, smart to take a break from masking to let your skin heal. Hope you are fully recovered; great to see you back! ๐ I love the Summer Fridays R + R mask. โฅ๏ธ One of my faves from the brand.
@itsfi Thanks! Itโs good to be back! I am now working on fading the scar. I was using the DDG mask every day and I believe it helps. Surprisingly the scar is very minimal for what I had.
@ather, thatโs great that you only have minimal scaring. Are you using the blue light or red one (or both) on the DDG? (Good reminder that I need to work that back into a more regular presence in my routine this time of the year; thank you!)
@itsfi Iโve been using both. I try to use it every day but Iโve also been using a serum to help with dark spots and if I use it I canโt use the DDG unless I use it before. Sometimes I forget.
Infection on the face? oh no!! sounds horrible, I'm sorry you had to deal with it @ather hope you will feel better soon ๐๐ค๐
@Skunk12puzzola Thanks. Itโs been better for a little bit but I was being extra cautious so it didnโt come back.
Well. Been a while. Yesterday I wanted to post something to this thread and opened container after container of wash off masks and was horrified at a large portion of them. Wow what a declutter that was.
Sooo. I have 7 l left. One is brand new, TonyMoly Iโm Rice Clarifying Blemish Mask. It arrived a couple days ago in an Ulta box, you know one of those, โooooh I must have clicked purchaseโ moments.
For its price point, sure, why not! I have enjoyed other clarifying masks more, but its mild enough I could use daily and for those who hate scents. The scent is very neutral.
Honestly I donโt need a clarifying mask because my prescription face wash solved that whole problem. But this is a mild mask and not drying. I cannot attest to its clarifying powers, but it was a pleasant experience.
โ
@Weetart Sounds like a potentially good mask.
@Cissy63 I'd say it's good for the price point. I bet there are trial or sample sizes out there. (When will we be able to get free sample sizes from stores again already! Sigh.)
@Weetart, so good to see you here! ๐ I think I may have a couple DS of thIs mask as part of an Ulta GWP. Good to know about the scent and that itโs not drying. Did you experience any other noticeable results from the mask, like brightening or hydrating?
@itsfi I wish I could tell you if it was brightening. I really can't tell, like seriously, my current baseline there is no brighter I can get. lol (I'll post a picture of it for you in my upcoming post). Probably because of my skin texture afterward was smooth and even.
As for hydrating, I will say, a slight yes, because typically clarifying masks dry out my skin (with the exception of PTR). After using it my skin felt like I just put a hydrating primer on.
@Weetart Thatโs good it worked well for you!
@ather it was. I'll use this one up. ๐
These were for open week and masks that make you hungry but I'm not certain my husband will admit that last one. LOL.
HE SAID: First time with snails and this has caviar too? I'm not fancy. This sounds too fancy for me.
He did use it and he actually liked it.
SHE SAID: My favorite of the three I tried.
@missy94612 oh yes!! These are great!!
@missy94612 These sound like appetizers for the face. These will make me hungry. Escargot in tomato sauce served over pasta was made by my Grandma ๐
LOL! Appetizers for the face - love it! ๐ Oh, your grandmother's recipe sounds delicious. I may have to look for a recipe for it.
@missy94612, lol; I always get a good chuckle reading your and your husbandโs thoughts on the masks you use. These elensilia masks are nice ones; yay for trying out a snail mask! ๐
@missy94612 Once youโve established your favourite travel masks youโre already fancy whether you admit it or not. ๐
